Chapter Seven
Time has passed by in a swift moment, just yesterday it was New year's Day and now it's already Christmas. Cara forced James to go out for tree hunting as it is tradition that every person must have a Christmas tree in their home. James however hated celebrations for some apparent reason but could not resist Cara's ragged nagging and her puppy dog eyes. I must say we surly are like one big happy family of three. Ah the three musketeers it is.
"No James that's too small!"Cara giggles, pulling James in all different directions with excitement in her eyes. "A tree is a tree Cara." James frustratedly growls while looking at Cara disapprovingly. I couldn't help but laugh at the picture before me, James the brave cannot be brave, he has a weakness when it comes to little kids. "Alex please tell Cara that it doesn't matter which tree we get." James demands with a pleading tone which causes me to laugh even louder. "The bigger the tree, the bigger the gifts" I said shrugging my shoulders, following Cara around. "oh! Oh! Oh! James! Can we get this one? Please!" Cara jumps up and down tilting her head to the side and flipping her hair. "urgh fine. I don't feel like arguing." James shoves me to the side in a playful manner and walks towards the tree.
He then begins to chop for several minutes and stops to wipe the sweaty remains off from his forehead. Cara was now running around James, irretating him while she taps on his shoulder everytime she passed him. "You little minx, I'll get you!" James laughs, chasing Cara around the tree we picked out. I considered joining in on the fun but before I could even stand up and make my way back to the car James begins running towards me in an attempt to chase me. "You better run Lexi!" he shouts with an amused expression on his face, recieving a satisfied giggle from me. "James please!" I shout at him while running for safety, clearly I am not fit enough for play time. "Alex run! His going to catch you!" I tried to run faster but my feet seems to be failing me.
James grabs me from the back causing me to trip over my dress and fall to the ground along with him. He begins tickle my sides, laying ontop of me. "James stop!" I demanded in between laughs "James!" I try screaming but more laughter leave my mouth "Alex I told you to run." Cara says from behind James, trying to get James away from me but what I was not prepared for was being shoved deep in the grass with James's face inches close to mine. Cara jumps ontop of his back causing him to accidentally kiss me. As if we all have the same mind, we stopped and just stared at each other. "Im so sorry I didnt…I didn't mean to." Cara breaks the silence, getting off James. Then dusts all the dirt from her dress. James shows out his hand to help me lift myself up and i awkwardly take it.
"Its okay Cara, go back to the car we'll be right behind you." he said still looking at me with an unreasonable expression on his face. "Ive been wanting to do that since the day I met you." James confirms, making me confused. "Chase me?" I question, laughing at his silliness. "No."James admits walking way to close to me. Every step he took, made me take one step back. "I mean this"he whispers grabbing the back of my head a violently kisses me, he then slows down. I'm still processing what is happening, while he takes both my arms and places it around his neck. I then kiss him back gaining a smile from him.
We kissed for a few more minutes before moving away from each other. James looks deeply into my eyes with a slight smile then began walking off. I catched up with him, looking back at him with a smile. He playfully shoves me with his shoulder, taking my hand in his.
