Antione stared at Cora as she arranged flowers around the room. She hummed as she went along. Since the morning that Margo called him panicked, she had been this way. It was like someone had given her a chill pill.
It wasn't just with things related to Margo either. Cora was a content sort of numb about everything. It was honestly kind of eerie. It was as if breaking the bond had made her an emotional ghost. Her personality was paper thin these days.
Antione didn't understand any of this, but he wanted no part of a solution that made him a lukewarm shell of who he was. He didn't think that Cora wanted to be this either. He could understand that there were likely some situations so traumatic that this result would be preferable, but Cora's wasn't one of them.
