Shit. What do I say now?
“Hey, RJ.” Pad’s voice came over, but the screen wasn’t clear.
“Hey, Pad. I can hear you but I can’t see you.”
“Yeah, let me try something. I’m trying to use my aunt’s computer so I don’t know why it’s like this.”
Pad’s face came into view, and RJ couldn’t help it. He grinned.
“Hey, there you are, handsome.”
Pad smiled. “Hi, RJ. Can you see me?”
“I see you crystal. Can you see me?”
“Yes, and you’re not bad looking yourself,” as Pad laughed too.
“So I thought you didn’t want to use Skype.”
“I didn’t want us to get caught.” RJ paused. “But, listen, Pad. I doubt they’re going to intercept this. Frankly, it’d be more likely that the I-ranianswanting to intercept this then our own government. Plus, I missed you.”
“I know you want to be careful.”
“We are. We will.” RJ feared this.
Now what?
They established contact.
Do I tell him what I’ve been feeling? Oh, hell.
“I missed you, Pad.”
