Sworn enemies

Eva didn't know whether to cry or laugh as she stared at the paper in her hands.

Some students were looking at the pair waiting to see what would happen next.

It was very rare for Davis to give a student a detention slip despite he had the authority to do so.

Eva rumpled the paper in his face and threw it on his desk.

Loud gasps echoed in the class.

Alen thought she would faint

This witch had guts ...

Mr. Owen turned.

"What's going on there"

Davis didn't look at the teacher but he kept looking at Eva with a smirk on his lips.

They stared at each other like they were in a staring contest.

Mr Owen sighed.

"Miss Harris please focus on the board"

"Gladly" Eva said smirking mockingly at Davis before turning to the board.

Mr. Owen resumed what he was writing.

Eva had to chuckle a bit.

She was given a detention slip by her own classmate.

Unbelievable

"Alen" Davis called suddenly but not loud enough for the teacher to hear.

Alen stands up and stands before Davis shaking in fear.

Davis didn't even look at her, he was still smirking looking at Eva's back.

"What happens when a student rejects a detention slip"

Eva rolled her eyes but she didn't even turn until she heard...

"She gets suspended or her friend has to go in her place"

Eva had to look back.

"What?"

Davis pointed to the rumpled paper on the desk still smiling at Eva.

"I think the latter's better. You'll go in her place. That will teach you a lesson not to make friends with someone like her" Davis said to Alen sternly.

Alen looked like she was going to cry.

Students were looking at Eva like she had done something horrid.

Did they really take things so strictly and seriously.....

She rolled her eyes

She knew what Davis was trying to do...

"Davis...I wish to nullify the detention slip" Emily said and Eva probably guessed that since Emily was in the council it was possible for her render a denetion slip useless.

She flashed Emily a grateful look

Davis rolled his eyes.

"Mind your business Emily. Stay out of this"

Emily fumed but she knew she couldn't do anything else.

She gave Eva an apologetic look.

Eva's mouth dropped open. She sneered at him.

'This devil was bent on making me go to detention. On my second day of school!!!'

She swipes the paper from the table.

"Fine!!? I'll just go. Hope you're happy now"

Alen smiled sadly at her as she sat down.

Davis smirked again which made her grit her teeth in seething anger.

"Maybe that will teach you to sit up in class and listen to me. This is not witch Prime, okay?"

"I was not born to take orders from you. Sweet prince" She sneered at him and suddenly smiled when she noticed how he frowned when she called him sweet prince

She made up her mind to start calling him that from now on...

Mr. Owen turned and almost exploded.

"Miss Harris for the last time....this is a class not your dormitory. Now sit down before I'll be forced to hand you a detention slip"

Eva sauntered away from the class waving the detention slip in the air.

"Too late ....."

Mr. Owen like the other students stared at the princess who just walked away to detention like she was going to collect an award or something.

Davis eyebrows were high up on his forehead as he smirked.

He had assumed a lot of things about her yesterday...

Guess he was wrong...

This was no ordinary typical, shy, scared princess...

He was going to have to deal with her and cut those invisible rebellion wings of hers...

Personally...

Eva had passed several classes but she couldn't seem to find the detention room so she started walking aimlessly around the school.

Miss Terra was teaching another class and noticed Eva pass her class like three times. Even her students had begun to look through the windows. It was unusual to see a student walking around the school building during class sessions.

When Eva attempted to pass her class for the fifth time, Miss Terra called her into the class.

"Miss Terra" Eva said nervously as she entered the class

The first thing Miss Terra saw was her short skirt. She stared at her legs unbelievably Everyone in the class were staring as well.

Jared happened to be in the class with Arjana, Arjun and other students. He was sitting at the back and he wasn't writing like the others but he was paying attention to Miss Terra.

When Eva walked into the class, he was atonished at how beautiful she could look.

"Why are you walking around the school premises at this hour. It's a violation of..."

"I know...I know. I'm looking for the detention room" Eva said raising her slip up.

Jared raised a brow saying nothing.

Miss Terra's eyes widened

"What.. it's your second day here Miss Harris and you've gotten a detention" She said sternly. "I expected more from you seeing as you just got expelled from your last school"

Eva wanted to say something but Miss Terra waved to Jared.

"Mr. Lane. Please show her to the detention room"

Eva finally noticed Jared sitting at the back and she felt so ashamed as he gave her a mocking look.

"Sure" He said

Eva was walking side by side with Jared. It was quiet in the hallways as they headed for the detention room.

Eva would cast glances at him once in a while but not once did he look at her. His hands were in his pocket and his tie was tied around his head like a hairband instead of his neck giving him a sexy depiction.

His hair was disheveled, his blue eyes a fierce look.

"Haven't you had enough staring for one day" He said finally looking at her, smirking. "I'm handsome that doesn't mean you should eat me up with your eyes"

She rolled her eyes looking away while blushing.

"Shameless" She muttered.

"What was that" He said despite he heard her perfectly well because of his sharp hearing senses.

Eva smiled a fake sweet smile at him.

"I said you were shameless"

He flicked her forehead still smiling at her.

Eva held her forehead and pouted.

"Hey!!!"

But he said nothing else and kept moving ahead

Eva ran after him and said.

"Don't you want to know why I got a detention slip"

"No"

"Why"

"I don't care"

"But I didn't do anything. Davis just wanted to teach me a lesson because according to him, I didn't do as he said. Can you believe that" Eva scoffed but she noticed Jared wasn't walking by her side.

She turned back.

"What's wrong"

He came forward and took her slip.

"You're sure Davis gave you this slip himself"

"Uh...yeah? Why?"

He suddenly smirked ruefully but Eva didn't understand why he was smiling like that.

"Give me your pen" He said looking at Eva.

Eva was busy drooling inside his blue eyes that she stammered.

"W..what..d..did you say"

Jared brought his face closer when he saw how lost she was and smiled at her. His gaze fell on her lips.

"Give me a pen or I'll kiss you"

That snapped her out of her reverie and with cheeks burning red, she roughly hands him a pen and looked at what he was doing inquiringly.

He drew a long slanted line across the slip and wrote on the slip.

... Nullified...

Then he signed his name at the top of the slip.

He hands it over to her.

"Here...you can go back to class..."

Eva takes it and looks at him unbelievably.

Did he just nullify her detention slip...

Before she could say anything, he left.

Why didn't he nullify it earlier...why did he do so when he heard that it was Davis who gave her the slip. ...

He obviously wanted to frustrate Davis.

..Were they some sort of sworn enemies or something.....
