Part 2:9

The journey home was long and frostfall had begun to grip the land in its icy fingers. The forests had shed most of their leaves and had become dominated by the browns and greys of the season.

Seth stood at the top of a small rise overlooking the valley in which he grew up. The early morning sun peaked through the heavy clouds to shine a cool, pale light across the valley. Further ahead he could see the ruins of his home rising from the mist that clung to the ground, like a cold, stark reminder of what he had lost. His father would eternally rest here, amongst the ruins and fields he had toiled so hard to build and cultivate.
