He's the boy!

"Why the hell am I still thinking about his freaking voice?????" And she keeps spacing out while neglecting her surroundings for a while. Lina gets back to her senses after getting flicked on the forehead by her mother

"OUCH!", screams the girl after putting her hand on her forehead.

"Were you even listening to me?", Says Elza while getting ready to flick her forehead a second time," You need to apologize for that reaction young lady, what did you even do that for?"

"I just felt insecure mom", Answers Lina as she slowly starts putting her head down, "He's still a boy that I just met today and I didn't know how to act."

She looks at her daughter for some moments and it does feel that Lina's gaining some guilt about that unwanted behavior of hers. Elza, just like any other caring mother, leans on the bed and hugs her daughter, then kisses her forehead.

"He'll be staying over so try apologizing to him before sleeping okay?", Says the mother while playing with Lina's long golden hair, "I'll go get him a change of clothes."

And just after she closes the door, Lina lets her clumsy side runs wild, she takes the only pillow that was left on her bed and starts biting it like crazy, then she starts moving her legs wildly until her ankle starts aching again.

"Ow ow ow. OWWW", Screams our girl. She puts her hands over her cheeks then adds, "And he'll be sleeping over as well, this day can't get any worse I'm certain!"

It didn't take that long, and Elza gets back to Lina.

"I gave him one of your father's pajamas and showed him the guest's room", she says after putting her hand over Lina's forehead to feel her fever," Your fever is getting really better, that's a relief."

Elza sits on Lina's bed and gives her daughter quite the unexpected curious expression. Lina, feeling a bit off after seeing her mother's sudden reaction, can't help but spell a question out.

"What?", Says the girl," What's gotten into you all of a sudden?"

"How did you meet that hottie?", Asks Elza after putting her hand over her cheek," He's a keeper if you ask me!"

"Huh? A keeper?", Questions Lina after getting even more confused.

"He's the boy!", Elza can't help but keep teasing her cute girl, "If you know, you know, right?"

"What are you talking about???", Says Lina after covering her face with the pillow to avoid showing off her blush, "I don't even know him, mom!"

"Excuse me!", Says Romeo after opening the door all of a sudden, "Can you show me the way to the restro....."

And Lina throws that pillow at him without a doubt. Then she regrets that action right away since her mother is giving her quite the death stare now.

"Sorry mom!", She says after covering her face with her hands this time.

"You should be apologizing to him", Adds Elza. She turns back to Romeo while switching to a lovely smile then says, "It's just the room after, young man."

After he closes the door, Elza switches her interest to Lina again. She gains a melodic tune then she says while she's closing her eyes.

"Dinner is ready! Should the three of us eat here? Or should I ask your boy to get you downstairs to the dining room?"

"I told you mom it's not like that!!!!!"

Elza helps Lina to get down to the dining room, and both of them sit still for a while until Romeo gets down and joins them for dinner.

"Thank you for taking me in", Says Romeo after eating some fish.

"It is me the one who should be thanking you Romeo", Adds Elza after adding a second fish to his dish, "Look at the mess that this girl got you in, this is the least I can do." And then she turns to her daughter, hinting at her to apologize.

"Yeah yeah she's right", Says Lina after getting irritated, " I'm sorry for dragging you like that! I apologize from the bottom of my heart."

Romeo raises his head and looks at Lina for a second then interrupts the silence by adding

"You don't look sorry!"

"Glad I'm not looking so", That's what she was thinking about.

After dinner, they share some tea and it appears that they decided to to get to know each other better for now.

"So you just moved in?", Says Romeo.

"My husband is a psychotherapist you see", Says Elza after gaining some pride," He's quite famous so he keeps moving around the world that's why we weren't able to settle down for so long. But this time, he decided to keep moving on his own while leaving me and Lina here so yeah."

"This neighborhood is really nice and comfy", Says Lina as she slowly sips some tea," I'm glad that we settled here for good, to be honest. So tell me, Romeo, you're a student, right??"

"I'm in third grade", He answers after getting some chocolate from the table.

"And you're not from this neighborhood, are you? ", Questions Elza.

"No I'm not", He says so after nodding his head," I think 3 other neighborhoods separate us from my house. It's a bit far I guess."

"You live with your family, right?", Adds Lina after pushing the chocolate closer to her guest.

"I live with my mother since childhood", He answers after getting more chocolate.

"Oh my, what about your father?", Says Elza after covering her mouth with her hand.

"I don't know father, I've never met him."

After hearing that, Lina and her mother felt deeply sorry. Now, Elza understands a bit why he called his neighbor a while ago. As for Lina, she does feel a little off after knowing that he has a single mother, but that unchanging expression of his is what bugged her even more. "It's as if he doesn't even have feelings", That's what she said internally.

The conversation kept going for another 30 minutes and they did get something out of it. Romeo appears to be a lazy person that uses as less energy as possible, he was born on 13/05 and unlike Lina, he didn't really have the opportunity to visit several places, so he kept sticking to the same spot from the beginning, and it appears that he's just addicted to chocolate a bit too much. As for Lina, she was born on 03/01 and her personality is totally the opposite of Romeo's since she appears to be energetic and you can know how she's feeling just by looking at her face. They exchange contact info and they get to their rooms right away.

"Romeo ha?", Mumbles Lina before going to sleep, "I don't why, but it feels like I'll be hearing your voice more often!"

The next day, when Elza wakes up and gets to the kitchen, she finds a note in there. It appears that Romeo is the one who put it there

"To Ms. Elza, or Lina, or maybe both of you:

Thank you for having me yesterday! I needed to go back early so I used the kitchen to have breakfast. Sorry for doing so without asking for permission.

Cordially, Romeo."

"What a strange boy", Says Elza, "Even though his personality is pretty cold, he does care about others very well. Really strange."

Elza prepares breakfast for her spoiled princess and she gets it to her room along with the note.

"That's really weird", Says Lina after reading the note," And I wanted to ask him which school is he in before he leaves."

"You can invite him again or ask him about it by texting him honey," Says Elza after putting the plate on Lina's lap.

"Yeah good idea", Adds Lina. She stays quiet for some time while looking at her food. Then, her mother cuts the rope of her thoughts by touching her cheek gently and making her get back to real life.

"Mom", Says Lina calmly," Didn't you feel anything special about his voice?"

"His voice? You mean Romeo?", she puts her hand under her jaw after saying those words, "Let's see... I guess his voice is a little deep and catchy if you ask me."

"So I'm not the only one who got that in mind", Adds Lina after getting relieved all of a sudden.

"And why are you still thinking about that boy?", Asks Elza after adding that teasing smile.

Lina makes an "X" with her arms and then keeps the conversation going by saying

"That's a no mom! You won't be seeing me and Romeo, got it?"

"Awww too bad. It's not like you find diamonds every day though!"

The next days, Lina keeps trying to contact Romeo and asks him which school is he attending. Unfortunately, he didn't reply and left the girl with a blank answer. She's getting pissed off and anger does dominate her to the point that made her send "YOU CAN GO TO HELL!!!!"

"Just who do you think you are?", Says Lina after throwing the phone on her bed and getting irritated, "Why the hell are you avoiding me?"

"Why the hell is it bugging me anyway? I don't even know him!"

And finally, the first day of school comes. Without a doubt, since she's clumsiness itself, Lina finds herself oversleeping.

"Crap, I'm going to be late!"

She puts on her uniform and makes a classy ponytail then she gets down to the first floor, drinks some coffee then gets closer to her mother.

"I'm heading off now", She says before kissing Elza on her cheek," Goodbye mom!"

"Good luck honey", Adds the mother while waving at her daughter.

The girl keeps hustling on her way, it's 7:50 am, and class starts at 8:00 am so she still got some time. Then, after reaching the mall where she met Romeo, she stops all of a sudden then starts thinking.

"I don't think that I know the way to school. Let me check it on my phone then."

She takes her phone, it's out of battery. "I'm so freaking screwed", says the girl after starting to bite her lower lip," What the hell am I going to do now? And I've got only 8 minutes left. I'm actually going to be late on my first day!!!"

Just after finishing her line, a fine motorcycle stops on the road since it's a red light. A boy around her age is riding the bike. "He's wearing the same uniform as mine", thinks Lina after noticing the boy," Would it be safe to ask him for a ride?"

"Excuse me", Says the boy after taking off his helmet," You're attending the same school as mine, aren't you? We do have the same uniform!"

"Oh, really?", She's trying to play it dumb by saying that. She pulls over her shirt and looks at it then raises her head to look at the boy again, "Yeah you're right, what a coincidence!"

"You're going to be late if you'll go on foot you know", He adds," I can give you a ride if it doesn't bother you!"

"You're a lifesaver!"

He gives her a second helmet after she sits properly on the bike, then they continue their way to the school with a short conversation.

"My name's Alex, I'm a third year student, pleased to meet ya!"

"I'm Lina", She says," A third-year as well, but I'm a transfer student so..."

"Oh you're new to the school", Says the boy," No wonder I didn't recognize you. Do you have a friend that attends this school as well?"

"I actually don't to be honest", Answers the girl after finding out that she can see the school right now. And after that, something barges into her out of nowhere which made her ask Alex for an answer

-Lina:" By the way, do you know someone called Romeo? he's a third-year as well."

"Did you say Romeo???", He asked after getting a bit surprised. Green eyes and black hair, he's got that cold personality ?"

"His voice is really deep as well", Adds the girl.

"That's our Romi! He's my best friend you know. So you're that clumsy girl he met in the mall aren't you?"

They are inside the school's parking, Alex stops the bike and both of them take off their helmets. Lina takes care of her hair a little before speaking up "You really are his best friend since you already know about what happened between us!"

Alex helps Lina to look for which class she's in. Thankfully, it appears that she's in the same class as him "And that freak is with me as well", That line crossed her mind just after reading Romeo's name. And an unexpected action comes by once Alex opens the door for Lina.

"After you!", Says Alex after letting the girl pass.

"Well thank you", She adds warmly", Unlike your friend, you do know how to handle a lady."

He didn't even get a moment to feel flattered, and a girl barges toward him and starts beating him up until he falls on the floor. He didn't even get the chance to stand up again, since he felt like wetting his pants after seeing that girl's expression.

"You were supposed to wait for me in front of my house and give me a ride to the school", She screams while pulling off his hair, "So you didn't only make me walk my way here, but I look out the window and find you with another girl!!! How much of a cheat can you actually be!"

"Hey there", Says Alex awkwardly while raising his hands toward her, "It's a misunderstanding, let me tell you the whole thing!"

"I don't want to hear a word coming out of you", She adds after getting fired up even more and raising her fist higher," We're so done!!"

"May I rest in peace", Said Alex in his thoughts. Thankfully, Romeo was there so he took the girl's hand and prevented her from slaughtering his bestie.

"Maria, I don't really think that Alex was cheating on you or anything!", Says Romeo after helping her to stand up.

"Huh? He literally avoided me and went to another girl", She adds while cursing Lina with her stare, "How can you explain that?"

"Well she's a transfer student", Answers the boy while pointing at Lina, "He must've found her crying because she didn't know how to get to school."

"Yeah, that's right!", Alex confirms after raising his hand, asking Romeo to help him stand up.

After helping off his friend, he puts his hand on Maria's shoulder while making her focus her interest on Lina then adds.

"And he needs to choose someone better than her to do so", He says, "I mean look at her, she's an eyesore!"

"You really didn't say that!!!!!", Yells Lina after getting humiliated like that.

Maria didn't really have the same point of view as Romeo, Lina is quite something after all. So, she gets closer to the girl and whispers in her ear.

"Next time you try to touch him, you're as good as dead!"

"Alrighty this is a female version of Romeo", She starts thinking while trying to act like she's not afraid," I don't really think that I should be staying in this class."

"Her name is Maria", Says Alex, "She's my girlfriend, I think that's obvious. She's a good friend, try getting close to her ok?"

Lina nods her head, telling him that she'll try her best to do so. Then tries looking for a seat and finds herself forced to be Romeo's deskmate as well. "Is this for real?", She starts thinking after getting pissed off once she realized it.

-Romeo: "Lina, by the way...."

"Try talking to me as less as possible okay?", She said so while turning her back to him.

"But I want to apologize about the....."

-Lina: "I said stop talking to me you freak!!!"

"Class, I'll be asking you to quiet down please!", Says the teacher after opening the door.

He walks slowly to his desk and then puts his handbag on it to take the list out.

"I'm Mr. Brown", He says while writing his name on the board, "I'll be your home teacher for your third and last year. I hope we can work well together. I heard that there's a new student in this class, did I get it right?"

"It's me", Says Lina after raising her hand and standing up," My name is Lina Sir!"

"Welcome, Lina. Come to the teacher's office after class, there are certain papers that you need to take care of. You can sit down now."

While checking on his students and once he runs to Romeo's name, he raises his head and asks which one is Romeo.

"It's this one!", Says Lina while pointing at her deskmate.

"I'm afraid you didn't ask for permission to speak, Lina." Says the teacher after giving her a slight glimpse.

-Lina: Sorry sir!

Romeo stands up and introduces himself to Mr. Brown. "Yes it's me"

"Are you sure?", Asks Mr. Brown, "You still don't want to join the elite class? That might boost your skills for the next level."

-Romeo: "I'm afraid I don't want to do so, sir! The elite class is hardworking and I'm too lazy for that!"

"They actually told me that this would be your answer", Adds Mr. Brown while looking a bit unsatisfied, "You can sit down now!"

"What the... Does Romeo have the ability to join class-A, the elite class?", Lina keeps thinking about that for the whole session. Luckily, it's the first session that takes place just for the students to introduce themselves and divide roles. After class, Lina goes to the teacher's office and takes care of certain papers, and then gets back to class. Without a doubt, she runs to Romeo and asks him immediately about what just happened and the answer he gave wasn't what she actually expected.

"YOU'RE TOPPING THE FREAKING SCHOOL????", Yells Lina while holding Romeo from his uniform.

"Yes", He says while putting his hands over his ears, "Can you keep it down, my eardrums can't handle it. So did you take care of your shifting papers?"

"Yeah I did", She says after taking her hands off him," And he asked me to assign someone to show me around the school."

After finishing with that line, Lina's eyes get a bit brighter while looking at Romeo, she's giving off that spoiled baby vibe again. Just seeing that expression on her face made Romeo know what's about to happen. He makes the usual sigh with his expression remaining unchanged.

"This is such a drag", He says after grabbing her by her neck," Come on, I'll show you around."

He helps his new friend get to know the school better by showing her the computer labs, chemistry labs, physics lab, swimming pools, the large gymnasiums of PE, the changing rooms and finally they end up in the courtyard. While they are taking a walk, they keep chatting about the school and the students...

"I see, so Alex and Maria have been a couple since the first year, that's quite lovely."

"I know", Says Romeo after taking a chocolate bar, "and Alex is my childhood friend as well!"

"You do look really close after all.", Lina takes some time and then decides to ask Romeo about his interest as well. For some reason, spelling these words out felt a bit difficult for her. And then there's our boy, who appears to know what she's thinking about and decides to let her ease her mind by saying.

"I've never dated before, if that's what you wanted to ask about!"

"R... Really?", Exclaims Lina with a shock written on her face, "You, don't have a partner??? Well that wasn't expected."

"It's not like I didn't get the chance to get myself a girlfriend", He says while starting to hold his arm a bit tightly, "I just don't want to hurt people because I don't feel the same as them."

"Well, that's a relief", Says Lina after putting her hand on her chest!"

"Huh? A relief? What am I feeling relieved for???????"
