Putting aside the emotions of Faye Owen for a moment, Wendy Quay, after hearing Yves King's statement, cried even harder. Lying on Yves King's shoulder, it seemed as though she wanted to cry out all the injustice and bitterness in her heart.
"Mummy." Maeve quickly got down from the chair, ran over and wrapped her arms around Wendy's waist, sobbing, "Mum, don't cry anymore, Maeve will definitely behave."
"Maeve, it's okay, let your mum cry for a bit." Yves King was patting Wendy's back while gently smoothing Maeve's head, saying, "You are still young, you won't understand. Sometimes when you're unhappy, crying it out can make things better."
"Oh, Mum, then you continue crying for a while." Maeve nodded in seeming understanding, but out of her inherent trust in Yves King, she didn't persist further.
