The detour along the dirt path was agonizingly slow according to Felix's standards. The bumpy road hurt everyone's backsides, and even Jane's expression darkened from the accumulated pain.

When the sun was at its zenith, Jane let out a long sigh and winked at Felix. "Let's take a break here."

Felix agreed with the suggestion and parked the carriage at the side of the road. Jane stepped down from the coachman's seat and opened the carriage door for the four people inside.

Adam and Jane's mother were the first to get down from the carriage, followed by Valley and Roland. The group of nobles and their servants proceeded to set up a place to enjoy their picnic food. Adam and the elder maid prepared food for Roland and Valley, while Jane fed the horses.

Felix maintained his distance from the family and rested alone. He pulled out a supply crate that he had gotten from a daily quest reward and opened it. The contents were the same: ready-to-eat meal packs, bottles of water, medicines, cigarettes, and sanitary items filling the container to the brim.

Felix took one of the MRE packages and a water bottle for lunch. After unsealing the package, he found a snack bar, a bag of instant curry rice, a pack of biscuits, a coffee stick, a tea bag, and a plastic spoon. Ripping the curry rice bag open, Felix poured water into the outer layer, which contained chemicals that reacted to water.

Upon pouring the water, the chemical boiled the fluid instantly, which heated the food. Once the food was warm enough, Felix discarded the chemical water, converting it into mana.

The conversion rate for modern items was abysmal as usual. Felix ignored it, using the feature as a trash bin. He picked up the plastic spoon and unsealed the pack of curry rice. The warm scent of sweet pork, curry sauce, and white rice wafted up, making Felix salivate.

While eating, Felix observed the interaction between Adam and Roland. The butler took care of the weary elderly man well, while the elder maid tended to Valley. At a glance, nothing seemed unusual.

However, Felix had marked this trip as suspicious from the beginning. There was one glaring flaw: Roland and Adam hadn't hired any other mercenary or escort besides Felix. Since Adam and the elder maid were in charge of security and planning for this trip, they seemed suspicious to Felix. The betrayal fantasy scenario kept repeating in his head.

While watching the group and eating his meal, Jane approached Felix and embraced him from behind.

"What are you eating, my lord? It smells delicious."

Felix pursed his lips and passed the cooked curry to Jane, who received it with glee. She put a spoonful of rice in her mouth and squealed in delight.

Seeing her reaction, Felix thought of a certain foodgasm manga. He shook his head and unsealed a snack bar to eat instead. The snack bar was a high-protein, chocolate peanut bar, which soothed his sweet craving. He bit into it and chewed while watching Jane.

The young maid devoured the food within three minutes. After finishing, she wiped her mouth with her skirt, flashing her underwear to Felix. As a young man full of vigor, Felix sneaked glances at Jane's thighs and her underwear. 

The previous foreplay in the morning was still fresh in his mind, and his instincts craved more.

Fortunately, Jessica's portrait window orbited around Felix, reminding him that someone was watching. He snapped back to his senses and secretly communicated with her.

Felix coughed, thinking of the morning's deed. Embarrassed, he changed the topic.

The black and white x-ray scan showed two short knives at her waist, ten long needles hidden in her thigh pockets under her skirt, twenty finger-long projectile needles in her left arm bracer beneath her left long sleeve, a retractable blade in her right arm bracer, and two razor-sharp blades in her shoes.

The young maid carried assassin weapons!

Felix's face turned ashen. He gulped and asked Jessica, 'Is she an ally or enemy? Can you tell?'

Jessica's window changed into a video player screen, revealing the event from last night. It showed the time when Roland, Adam, and Jane were in the same room. Their conversation was audible to Felix.
