Rumours

"Look, who had decided to grace us with her presence, " Liu Jingjing snorted as Luna entered the office. Yesterday, when Zuni was not present in the office, she had started the rumour about how Zuni served as a kept woman of an old man. This was the reason why she could afford a luxury car and designer clothes. 

Amanda had told Zuni about the rumours that were floating about her in the office. She had an urge to beat Jingjing. How dare people talk about her barren and non-existent love life? 

It was already so difficult for her to seduce her hubby and now the girls were creating rumours about her having an affair with an old man. 

It was unacceptable!

"I know I'm beautiful and smart, you guys need not talk about me all the time, " Zuni sighed as she placed her hand on her stomach. "My stomach has been aching because of constant hiccups. Next time, don't miss me much."

She walked to her desk while winking at the girls and playfully spanking Liu Jingjing's ass. 

The girls blushed and Liu Jingjing glared fiercely at Zuni. 

"You pervert!" Liu Jingjing shouted at her. How dare this girl touch her body? She felt so shy and embarrassed. 

"I was just seeing if they are implants or if it's your real booty, " Zuni pouted. 

"Do you know you have no right to touch my body part?" Liu Jingjing asked angrily. 

"Oh?" Zuni pretended to be scared. Then she asked, "Do you know you all have no right to talk about my private life behind my back just like how I have no right to touch your booty? I could sleep with an old man or with your daddy. This has nothing to do with you or any of you. I'm a twenty-eight years old woman and I think I am eligible by law to be in a relationship with anyone. Whether the man is sixty years old or thirty years old, it can only be determined by me."

The secretaries didn't dare to utter a word. Everyone loved to gossip but nobody was brave enough to say that they gossiped about her. 

"She is so shameless, " Liu Jingjing said to everyone. 

"I think we should focus more on our work than talking behind anyone, " A Secretary said with a serious look on her face. "President Song is leaving for a business trip. I have to know who will assist Special Assistant Lu in meetings abroad. The Chief Secretary will be staying in office and the President specifically asked Secretary Liu to assist her."

"Wasn't it fixed that I will be going with President Song?" Liu Jingjing furrowed her brows. 

"Miss Liu, you don't know Korean or Japanese, the language of the main countries where the President would be spending the majority of his time in, " The other secretary replied. "English doesn't work everywhere. This is the reason another secretary will be assisting Special Assistant Lu and Miss Long."

"Are you sending the newbie on a business trip?" Liu Jingjing asked, shocked.  She didn't like how Zuni would be going with Song Jingren. 

"Yes, she knows Korean, " The Secretary replied. She looked at everyone in the department and asked, "Which one of you knows Korean and Japanese?"

Nobody raised their hands. 

"No one?"

A moment later, a girl in specs raised her hand. She was hiding on the last desk. Her voice was as soft as a feather, "I know both the languages."

"Come with me, " The secretary said as she walked away with the girl to conduct some tests to see if the girl was even fit to send on the business trip. 

During lunchtime, Zuni was walking toward the cafeteria when she bumped into a hard chest. She looked up to see a handsome man frowning at her. 

"Brother-in-law?"

Chen Kai looked at Zuni who was blinking her beautiful green eyes at him. He smiled when he noticed how she addressed him. 

"How are you, brother-in-law?" Zuni asked. When her gaze fell on the glaring teeth mark behind his ear, she grinned. "I'm pretty sure that you are doing good."

Chen Kai's cold face turned crimson when he heard the girl's words. "You are thinking too much." 

"So, I can't call you brother-in-law?" Zuni asked, disappointed. 

"You can until I fire your brother as my probation period boyfriend, " Chen Kai replied. 

"Lei bro will not give you a chance. He is one of the best people you will ever find. If you lost him, it will be your loss, "Zuni replied with a huff. Then, her tone softened, " But my Lei bro will be hurt if you don't give him a genuine chance to prove his feelings to you. So, don't give up on my bro. He is a real deal."

"To be honest, I am very envious of you, " Chen Kai told her. "He always talks about you with such pride and love that I can't help but want the same about both of us too."

"Brother-in-law, I didn't know you wanted to be my Lei bro's sibling all along, " Zuni laughed. "He and I have love that a brother has for his sister. You can't take my place in his life and I can't take your place in his life. So, let's learn to coexist peacefully at our places."

"You are a person who uses a light tone to talk about heavy subjects, " Chen Kai wondered out loud. 

Zuni shrugged. "What can I say? I'm so amazing that even I am left astonished sometimes by my amazingness. Brother-in-law, I will see you later."

Chen Kai's phone dinged at the same time. 

[Lei: Soldier, look after my sister for me, please. She easily gets into fights.]

[Kai: Don't order when you are still in probation period. ]

[Lei: I think after I bribed you last night to pass the probation period.]

 Chen Kai snorted lovingly as he read the last message. 

These Long siblings had a way with words. Who could defeat them verbally?
