Luna found her father on the patio talking over the phone. Once he disconnected the call, she approached him. She hugged him without wasting any moment. "Dad, I'm sorry."
"For what?" Feng Siyan asked as he patted her head.
"For saying hurtful words, " Luna said in a soft voice. "I was only trying to get you in anger. I swear I don't mean anything. Please forgive me."
"Only on one condition, " Feng Siyan said as he looked at his daughter. "You have to promise me that you will never pull the stunt of running from home again. If you want anything, you will tell me. I can't keep guessing all the time what my daughter needs."
Taking a deep breath, he added, "Lixue, you are my only child. If you don't want to marry him, then just say so. You shouldn't have run away from home. Do you know your Uncle Ryuu hasn't spoken well to him for these two years? Master thought Little Lord is the reason you have to take such a drastic step. They thought he cheated on you or whatnot. He never gave any justification. Clear the misunderstanding, child. It's getting too much now."
"I'm going to call Uncle Ryuu and Alicia mom, " Luna said without wasting any time. "Plus, dad, I want to stay in China for a while. When I am done here, I will return home. I will call you regularly. If not every day then maybe twice a week. I promise I will do it."
"Alright, what else do you want?" Feng Siyan asked. Of course, he knew what she was up to.
"Ahem…A house, car, bank balance…" Luna grinned.
"Alright…" Her father sighed. "Go call them."
Luna didn't know that such a big problem in her life could be solved with a sorry. Sometimes, a sorry is enough but we lack enough confidence to say it.
She just hoped that Zuni gets enough confidence to say sorry to the people she hurt and so she could stop hurting herself too
___
The following morning Song Jingren woke up with a certain someone who was insistent on ignoring him but was clung to him like a vine. He muttered a curse when he saw the drool on his chest. The great wall of China between them was destroyed by her movements. Well, she was a runner in his sleep. He should have assumed that the pillow wall would be ruined by her movements.
Before he could untangle her from his body, he felt her grip on him tighten and her forehead crinkled. It was as if she was in discomfort. Great discomfort. For some reason, he didn't like the look on her face. She looked better with her mischief and scheming than her fake smile and discomfort.
"Zoe…" Zuni whispered the name in utter devastation. "Don't go, please. Listen to me. Come back…"
"Hey," Song Jingren caressed her head while trying to wake her up. It was as if she was stuck in a nightmare, she couldn't wake up from it.
"Believe me… I didn't do that…" Zuni whispered and tears started trickling down her face.
"Zuni, wake up!" Song Jingren grew anxious as she started crying in her dream. "I believe you. Now please wake up."
He didn't know the intensity of his words in her heart. Or maybe he didn't know about the effect he had on her.
It was as if his voice was audible enough to her. She woke up several moments afterwards. As she woke up, she narrowed her eyes at him.
"Why are you hugging me? I told you I'm angry at you, " Zuni said in anger. But her voice was too soft to be angry. She just sounded like a cute baby throwing a tantrum after crying for hours.
"Did you have a bad dream?" Song Jingren softly asked. He didn't want to be an ass to her first thing in the morning, especially when she didn't look well.
"I don't remember my dreams," Zuni shrugged. "Why are you asking?"
"Because I'm bored, "Song Jingren said what came to his head.
"Then, go to your Jingjing to pass this boredom." She angrily said as she pushed him away. She was angry for real.
"You are angry because of her?" Song Jingren asked in disbelief. This woman….why couldn't she think like a normal human?
Ugh, his fault for thinking that his wife was a normal creature. Ten thousand devils must be killed before she was created.
"So what if I'm?" Zuni said, crossing her arms on her bug blossoms where his gaze lingered for more than a minute. What could he do? He was a man first and a heartbroken lover second!
"Jingjing is like a sister to me." Song Jingren said as he averted his gaze from her body to look at the vase placed in his room.
"Well, she didn't get the memo, " Zuni sarcastically said.
"I can't do anything about your jealousy, "Song Jingren sounded, annoyed.
"You can, " Zuni grinned at him. "Ask her to call me Sister-in-law. I won't complain. Ever."
"Not gonna happen, "He snorted. Telling Liu Jingjing that he was married to Zuni meant inviting the entire Song family to meet his wife? No, thank you! Zuni would drive the Song family crazy and he didn't have the patience to deal with his family for now.
"Okay!" She jumped out of the bed in that slutty nightwear and marched to the bathroom.
"I'm going to set these indecent clothes on fire, "Song Jingren groaned.
"Oh, you are always welcome to, " Zuni winked. "I liked your clothes better anyways."
Lord, give him patience!
What was he gonna do with this woman?
