Five Reasons

Heartbreaks. Tears. Depression. Move on. I make mistakes. I also get sick. I sometimes embarrass myself in front of my classmates. I never answered back to my parents. We live in a normal house, run a small store, and I have a normal love-hate relationship with my younger brother. I'm smart and talented. I easily learn lessons and help my classmates with some of their difficulties. As a matter of fact, I can say that I'm normal. However, things changed when I transferred. My heart raced for a person. The wrong person. The whole world would condemn us if we ever got together. I don't even know if that person would reciprocate my feelings. But I still fell. In the game of love, the first one who fall will lose. And I did. I fell. I fell. And I fell. ~~~ Disclaimer: The events in this story really happened in real life, except for some parts where the main character is not present. But those are supplemented by asking the point of view of those present. Names of the characters are edited to avoid shock and confusion from their perspective. But if they ever found out about this, we will have a long chat. Again, everything in the story is according to the point of view of the main character.

Reason 2: She Is A Very Talented Person (2)

"The Intramurals would be held on the third week of the month. The events during the Intramurals would need coordinators so that our Grade would be organized," we are now having a meeting in the hallway of the STEM building.

Technically, the second floor of the STEM building. All 154 students of Grade 11 should be present in this meeting, but since we are lacking in the space of the hallway, some attendees are representatives of certain class groups.

For example, in a group circle of seven, two of them would attend for the rest. This creates more space for the others and with lesser people attending, debates would rarely happen.

Class Presidents would also relay the contents of this meeting to their respective classes and gather opinions from their class for the next meeting.

Of course, I'm attending. I represent the transferees of Grade 11 ABM together with three more people.

I'm one of the most loved transferees of the year, so I have to come. (Not bragging.)

"The first agenda of the meeting would be the Grade Level Theme we got from the school meeting: 'Courage'. From the 'Courage' theme, we need a specific grade theme. Any suggestions?" the presiding officer asked.

Only the presidents of each class have the right to speak in this meeting.

So all of us who came from the same class would gather together in a corner to give our opinions to our class President who will relay our opinions to the whole grade.

"Fighters."

"Warriors."

"Knights."

"Paladins."

Each class President shared their class's opinions.

And we voted.

With a winning vote of 37 out of 56 attendees of the meeting, Paladins win.

"Next up would be the color scheme of the banner and our flags for the raising ceremony," and we proceeded with the other issues with the Intramurals.

Finally, we settled with the gold and black color for the banner and flags, a rotating scheme for the helpers of each event who'll deliver snacks and medication to the players, and the coordinators for each event who'll attend the school meetings for the said event and will relay the contents of the meeting to the whole grade.

The design of the grade shirts of Paladins, the dancers for the cheer dance competition, the players for each sport, the monetary contributions, and other issues will be relayed by the class Presidents to their classes and would give a proper answer to the whole grade via messenger chat.

After the meeting, I became the proper coordinator for the Sepak Takraw Girls sports event. I have to go to a meeting of the coordinators for the event of each grade level and find players for our grade to win.

I can be a reserve player. After all, I already have my own sport, Chess, and would not like to jump to any other sports.

The Intramurals is not a professional level sports event, so it's fine for the players to just have superficial knowledge about the rules of the sport. All we have to do is to attend the event, prevent other grade levels from getting free points and of course, to get points for our grade.

Each event would give a grade level some points. For a grade who won the first place, they would be given 4 points. For those who'll win the second place, they'll get 3 points. For the third place, 2 points. And for those simply attending without winning, a point.

When we reached out classroom, I collected the names of students who want to play Sepak Takraw.

And believe me or not, but Blessie actually actively wrote her name for the sport.

"Do you even know how to play a sport?" I asked, and raise my eyebrows. I practiced raising my eyebrows for a few weeks in a row to compete with hers. Finally, I managed to use it in this situation!

Blessie did not answer, but Andrian, a professional National Arnis player, interjected in our conversation. He's our classmate, and to be honest, when we first met, I thought that he's a brother of our classmate. He has this mature aura that makes him look older than us. Add that to the fact that he is handsome and his eyes disappears when he's smiling.

In short, he's dreamy.

"Don't look down on this girl, Rae. She's last year's Most Valuable Player of the school. She's also the vice captain of our grade's basketball team. So playing with balls is easy for this gal," he said before disappearing once more.

Maybe he went to find his girlfriend in the STEM building?

"Oh," I just said as I tried to slip away, which failed miserably because she got my collar.

"Hey! You'll stretch my collar!" I feel wronged. How would I even know that she's a valuable player? She looks so fragile.

After stretching my collar for a few seconds, she let me go. So I immediately run away as far as possible. She's simply a bully!

In the following days, I gathered the members of the Sepak Takraw team of our grade level.

Andrian taught us how to play with the rattan ball. All the members had the experience of playing Sipa before, so the training was easy. (Sipa is a game where rubber band are attached to one another and players would need to kick the rubber bands to the air and avoid it landing on the ground.)

All the other coordinators are also trying to fill in the names of their sports events and held try outs from time to time.

When I was passing the names of Sepak Takraw to the assigned officer in our grade level, I happened to pass by the try outs for badminton.

I was so surprised to see Blessie play like a pro in the court.

I approached a familiar face among the bunch of people watching the try outs.

"Ana, is Blessie trying out for Badminton? Isn't she the vice captain of the grade's basketball team? She's also playing Sepak Takraw. Won't she have enough time to play all?" I asked curiously.

"She's just trying out, Rae. She won't seriously play for the event. She's the last boss of the try outs every year to give a favor to the coordinator of Badminton. She loves playing Badminton and Basketball, so that's the least she can do for the sport she neglects," Ana answered, and a sense of respect brewed within me for Blessie.

But as if I'll tell her this!

Hmmph!

That'll only make her head grow big.

Imagine my surprise when I found out that she's the MVP for two straight years.
