"So far, I have only produced enough for one individual; this product is costly and scarce. I want all of you to think this over and choose wisely. Also, Adamo, you have seemed to peak my interest." Haynes said.
"How so? " Adamo asked in confusion.
"Let me conduct some tests on your blood; I need to test something out to see if it is really true." Hayne held a syringe to his chest.
"What are you trying to do here, Hanyes?" Adamo said it suspiciously.
"Volunteer to test something out for me."
Adamo stopped himself before taking any further action and crossed his arms. Haynes appeared to be lost in thought for a moment until he regained his composure and finally came up with the courage necessary to talk to him.
"Just trust me on this. There is no guarantee that you'll become successful, and this may also result in something absolutely catastrophic that could mean the end of humanity; however, if this succeeds, you will be the last hope for humanity." Dr. Haynes handed him the serum.
"Okay." Adamo replied and put a black suit on before injecting himself with the liquid. Adam looked at him and wondered what he was doing, and why would he take the serum before anything was made out of it?
"This liquid is infused with the virus and voltage X."
Everyone's heart dropped. Adamo was now infected with the virus and no longer had any chance of returning to being a human. Ayoub got off her bed and looked into Adamo's red eyes. It seems that his appearance changed; he seemed more savage.
Adam grabbed the Voltage X off Haynes' desk and injected himself with it. "EVERYONE, GET OUT OF HERE NOW! IT ISN'T SAFE!"
Adamo's transformation into a monster begins.
His limbs stretched out. His nails extended into talons. His teeth became fangs, and horns emerged out of his skull. Everyone began to panic and run for safety, except for Connor, who stood there in horror as Adamo walked closer and closer to him. "What the hell are you?"
"I am the incarnation of the devil. " Adamo roared while reaching his hand forward, grabbing onto the teenager by the throat and lifting him high into the air. He squeezed and twisted around with all his strength as a sickening cracking noise reverberated through the room along with a gurgled screech. Connor's collarbone and jaw broke as blood started trickling down the side of his face and jawline while hanging loosely beneath him before collapsing onto the ground.
"WHAT THE HELL HAVE YOU DONE!?" Ruby shouted at Adamo, who turned to face her.
Adamo's viewpoint:
It felt as though something inside me was struggling for power, trying to gain full control of me. I could sense that a terrible fate awaits those standing within proximity around me, and judging from Ruby's reaction towards me earlier, I speculate that there are negative sentiments growing steadily between my group and her gang. My guess is based mainly on intuition, but the fact remains unchanged regardless. Something is about to go horribly wrong in this situation; therefore, I must do something about it immediately and when I get the first chance. It felt as if I was chained with no way of escaping, like what I was trying to control had me tamed. I refuse to let this be the end because I've finally discovered what kind of person I truly am; I'm the opposite side of a coin. I am filled with unyielding determination and relentless conviction. I've learned a valuable lesson today, one that will linger in my mind forever. My instinct was not lying to me when it was saying something was awfully wrong, especially the sudden transformation occurring upon receiving the virus-injected liquid into my body. It should never happen like that, because this means that I'm either evolving or... evolving into an abomination. My purpose now is to survive long enough to learn what is going on, what this serum inside of me contains, and hopefully discover a way to remove it without anyone's help.
My will was unyielding, and my conviction was undying. I could not let myself be lost by this serum; I had to control it. I started screaming and prying my way out of these chains. I could see the vision. I could see myself hurting others if I let myself be controlled. This abomination that Hanyes created is something that I need to control. I need to prove to him that I am worthy of this. I fought hard to find my way back to myself, and when I did, I saw the damage that I had caused. Connor was laying there lifeless.
"FUCK! WHAT HAVE I DONE?!" I fell to my knees as I began crying, tears streaming down my eyes as I held Connor's body. Then it hit me; he still had a pulse. I grabbed his body and rushed outside to see the group panting since they had run away from me. They could see the tears in my eyes and grabbed Connor from me.
"Adamo, are you back? Why are you crying?" Ayoub questioned Adamo as he and the others sat down.
Narrator's viewpoint:
It showed Adam's weakest moment, seeing his whole body tremble and shake uncontrollably with sheer agony, like he was torn apart inside, which was a real possibility. However, deep within him, he understood perfectly what was happening.
"How do you feel, Adamo?" Adam said as he tried to pull himself together. He held Connor close to his chest while breathing softly and wiping his tears away.
"Like a monster who killed his brother. I failed." Adamo's eyes looked lifeless, like he had done something unforgivable. It was hard not to feel pity for him, even if he killed someone he cherished deeply. It must have broken him inside.
"Listen carefully, Adamo. None of us blame you for what just happened. We understand that it was an accident and that you did not intend to kill anyone. And besides, he still has a chance at survival." Hanyes assured Adamo and tried to calm him down a bit, knowing what it's like to suffer after seeing someone get hurt or die.
"HAYNES... You shut the fuck up. You gave me this serum and made me into this monster. We are done with you; we got what we needed, and we will never have to see your shitty face ever again." Adamo pointed at the man with his knife while gritting his teeth furiously, his eyes filled with intense hatred burning deep within them.
"YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU'RE DOING, ADAMO! YOU ARE MISTAKEN ABOUT ME. LET ME EXPLAIN MYSELF FIRST!" Haynes screamed in rage. He felt betrayed and hurt. He felt like he was thrown away like garbage once again, left behind in favor of others, left alone without anyone to listen to or comfort him anymore. But there was something else in his voice—something dark lurking underneath the surface, something dangerous yet familiar—that could easily be spotted immediately after he said that.
"Haynes, we are done here; not only did you manipulate me into taking this serum, you made me hurt Connor. You're scum." Adamo scoffed.
"I'm sure we will meet again." Haynes laughed as we walked away from him.
"Miserable old prick!" Adam shouted and picked up his things.
Adam, Ayoub, and Adamo wanted to take revenge on Haynes for tricking them and for making Adamo take the serum that eventually caused Connor to almost die. He was angry and wanted to murder the man who destroyed their lives. This was not an option for Adamo, who was aware that if he pursued this matter, it would cause his death. Instead of pursuing vengeance on the old bastard, he wanted to go after him and take him down with his own two hands.
