Chapter 6 “Senior Year”

Senior year started bad. I didn't think I could even begin to deal with school. I went to school just thinking about football. The team was strong. We had all the guys we needed to win state. While this was going on, it distracted me from Violet. I wanted to win state so bad. The team and I trained hard every day with no breaks. We adjusted ourselves so we could win.

I was still sad though because a huge piece of my Heart was missing and I knew it. I just kept my eye on the goal: winning state. I was so occupied with football for brief moment I had forgotten all about Violet. I thought maybe I'm free, maybe I can love again.

A few weeks went by and slowly started forgetting Violet. Then It happened, I was driving down the road and I saw her. Turns out she was in to visit her family. Every piece of freedom I had gained was lost. All the feelings I had forgotten about came back.

I tried so hard to concentrate on football, I couldn't help but think about her. She was like a hook, I was the fish. She was still my everything. I told myself I have to talk to her again, just one last time. I just wanted to hear her voice one more time.

That weekend I went over to her house to talk to her. The issue was she was engaged. I went that night and told myself just end it, nothing matters anymore. Right when I was about to do it something caught my eye, our song come on my TV. I knew that was a sign to try for her one last time.

I tried everything to telling how much I love her to how much she meant to me. I tried everything but nothing worked. I went over to her house for the last time and said,"I love you and I want you to be happy. Even though it isn't me I'm just glad you're happy."

   She looked at me with one glance and said,"thanks." Very coldly.

I just focused on football from then on. We won the next three games, we thought we were gods. I so pumped all the time because of that. I walked the halls at school like King Kong but on the inside I was missing Violet.

The team and I had a great season only losing one game and we were ready for the playoffs. We cruised through the playoffs. We had one game left: the championship game.

The game was neck and neck the whole first half. Then third quarter came and they kicked a field goal. We were then down three points. The fourth quarter came still no scores from either team. Then it happened, five seconds left on the clock my QB throws a hail mary pass to me. I caught the ball and dove into the end zone. We were officially state champions.

We were in the end zone holding the trophy. Then all I see is a person running to me from the crowd, it's Violet. She hugs me and kisses me. then she looks me in the eyes as we're nose to nose and said ," everything I have and everything I'm gonna have." I said," what?"

  She said," I will love you with everything I have and everything I'm gonna have."

  I said,"everything I have and everything I'm gonna have." Then I crack a smile and gave her another kiss.
