We found an empty four-story table and sat there.
I was still admiring the café's beauty when the waitress walked towards our table and handed down their menu.
We accepted that with a smile.
Abi and Camilla ordered a cheese loaf and a cup of latte. Lily took a cheesecake, saying she'd been craving it since yesterday. She also ordered a protein shake.
While I ordered a stack of pancakes surrounded by melted butter on the plate and honey on top. I suddenly craved a caramel macchiato, so I ordered one.
"Are these all, ma'am?" The waitress asked once again before taking her leave.
I stopped it when I suddenly remembered something.
"Yes, ma'am?" Anything else?" She asked calmly.
"I'd like a slice of mocha cake, please."I said.
One slice of mocha cake for you, ma'am. Alright, noted. "
We just waited for the order to arrive while occasionally lowering the conversation.
Lily's still in the midst of her hangover. That's why she's been rubbing her forehead every now and then. Abi's doing the same, except that she's more focused on scrolling on her phone.
When I got bored while waiting, I took my phone out to also check my social media accounts. My Instagram post from yesterday already has three thousand likes and a lot more comments.
Most of them are from our colleagues' relatives.
I tagged the four of them. That's why I find some names in the comment section unfamiliar. I just didn't interfere because maybe I don't have to reply to everyone, especially since I don't know them.
I just put down my cellphone when the food arrived.
I enjoyed my pancakes and caramel macchiato. I even took a picture and posted it on Instagram with the girls' hands on the table.
Lily and Camilla ate slowly. They were preceded by the two who had just finished and were already talking.
I was halfway through my mocha cake and a cup of caramel macchiato when I received a call from Mom.
I stood up and said goodbye to them before answering the call. "Hello, Mom?"
"Aya, my daughter, how are you?" She inquired over the phone.
I'm sorry, I just called. You know, the company is a bit busy. And I want you to relax without thinking about anything at all. How are you and your secretaries?"
It's okay, Mommy. We're doing just fine here. We made friends and all. Are you there? How are you and Dad? Where's Ronald?" I asked.
"We're okay, Aya."You don't have to worry about us," she answered. I heard some noise from the background of the call. "Aya, wait, I'm needed at the meeting." I'll call you later, okay? "
"Oh. Okay, Mommy. "Be careful.
Mommy herself dropped the call.
I immediately went back to our table to consume the mocha cake I was eating and the uneaten caramel macchiato.
Later, after we finished our breakfast, we decided to take a stroll around the area.
