Besides, the two men had other things to worry about in their relationship instead of a man who morphed into a firefly: Sam’s irrepressible liking for Bay’s heart; the man’s sexual attraction to Bay; and Sam’s inevitable and heart-strong thoughts and feelings for Bay, wanting Bay to be the man he wanted to spend the rest of his life with, as husbands, either here in Channing or New York City, wherever.

Such details proved more important than Bay’s post-midnight adventure with Christopher, the firefly. And real. Very real. Not an extraordinary and science-fiction-induced event that sounded as if it were pulled out of the pages of a Joe Hill or Nick Cutter novel.

So Bay kept tight-lipped about last night’s interloper/firefly occurrence. Even though he really didn’t want to.
