Monster Slayers

The Ōmukada felt him coming and dropped on all it's legs then slithered towards him in a serpentine motion with it's legs punching through the ground as it ran with full speed. It sent the ultrasonic scream towards him but he was too quick and dodged by sliding to the side then continued towards it. The Ōmukada continued shooting barrages of the Sonic scream at him but he keeps dodging as they approached each other...

He out stretched his arm and the gauntlet formed a giant black scythe. He stepped on a car then into the air then threw the scythe towards it's face but the centipede took it head on. The scythe just made a striking sound and fell away. He forgot to spit on it. He only just realized after he threw the scythe. The centipede shot another Sonic scream at him in the air and that one hit him. He bounced off the ground on impact and was caught be Anqa before he could smash into the wall of a building. She helped him up. The Ōmukada was already slithering towards them.

"We can't get close to it", Aaron said looking at the approaching monster. He didn't know why but at that moment, he knew no fear.

"Then we've got to switch to long ranged attacks", she said as Aaron nodded.

His mask disintegrated once again and the gauntlet formed a bow in his palm. Anqa's mask did same but she surmoned a spear instead.

The centipede was already close and fired it's Sonic scream towards them. They jumped out of the way and launched a counter attack.

Anqa spat on the tip of her spear and sent it towards the beast surmoning another spear almost immediately. The centipede saw it coming and sent the Sonic wave in that direction and disrupted the incoming spear. With that opening, Aaron started firing his spit arrows continuously at it's flank. Each arrow went in clean and the centipede roared in agonizing pain. It turned towards Aaron who was still spitting and shooting and rushed for him. Anqa ran after it and jumped onto it's tail-like end then started making her way up it's rough armoured back towards it's head holding on to spikes to keep her balance. Aaron saw what she was doing and knew he had to buy her time buy distracting the Ōmukada so it wouldn't notice Anqa on its back.

The bow dissolved in his palm and he surmoned a large black-etched sword. He licked the sharp edge of the sword leaving a trail of spit on it. It fired the Sonic blast towards him and he dodged, now he was close enough. He swung the sword towards it's side and sliced off three of it's legs. The beast sent it's other legs towards him in a bid to stomp on him enough to disable him but he just dodged and cut each one that came for him. The centipede having lost some legs got furious and tripped him over with one of it's legs. He lost his balance and fell dropping his sword. He was now right under the orange belly of the beast. It sent one of it's pointy legs towards him to impale him enough to stop him from moving but he caught the leg with both of his hands. The Ōmukada rested all it's weight on that leg, pushing down on it. Aaron hold on to it with all his might, breathing heavily, he was once again scared for his life, it was slipping through his grasp quickly.

But then it let out a loud agonizing shriek and the weight on the leg reduced. He pushed the leg away and covered his ear from the shattering sound. It was so loud that it shattered every fragile surface on buildings and on cars. The officers covered their ears too as the sound was unbearable. Some fell on their knees in pain screaming. Aaron coiled himself up in pain as blood trailed down his ear, it was truly unbearable.

Then the shriek stopped abruptly and everywhere was dead silent. Ears were ringing, car alarms were blaring, the police backup's sirens could be heard in the distance.

The Ōmukada gave a wailing moan then began to slump downwards. Aaron saw this and rolled out from underneath it right before it shook the Earth on impact raising clouds of dust from the tarred road. It moaned like a dying whale one last time then was silent.

Aaron pushed himself up, his ear still ringing. He looked up at the fallen beast and saw Anqa standing right on top of it with her hands on an inconceivably large sword that was buried deep into the supposed head of the beast. She smiled at him and said something inaudible to him. He couldn't make out what she was saying cause his ears were still ringing loudly.

"What?!!", He called out placing his hand behind his ear to demonstrate that he couldn't hear her. She laughed hard then jumped down from the beast abandoning her sword on its head. It slowly dissolved.

She walked up to him still laughing.

"How is it that the deafening scream didn't affect you?!!!", He said not realizing how loud he was being.

"You have to lower your voice!", She shouted slowly back at him accompanied with hand gestures to make sure he heard her.

He heard what she said but her voice was tiny to him so he just nodded. She let her hood disintegrate then pushed her hair back to reveal the black ear plug that was in one of her ear. She'd already removed the other one.

"I plugged my ear with this when the scream started! Turns out the gauntlet doesn't spawn only weapons or Maybe the ear plugs are weapons too!!", She spoke slowly and loudly, word for word so he could hear her.

"You can speak normally now, I can hear fine. I think my ear already healed. And you sound ridiculous", he said in a normal voice. She playfully punched his shoulder and smiled.

"Let's find mist and get out of here", she said as they both turned to search for mist. Every other person was beginning to regain consciousness.

"Stop right there!!", Paul shouted on top of his lungs, his ear still ringing. He stood behind them with the M416 pointed towards them with one hand and the other over his ear. The two of the cops were with him pointing their guns at them too. Anqa and Aaron halted but didn't turn. Anqa's hood was gone and none of them were wearing their masks.

"Turn around real slow with your hands on...!!", Paul's screaming was interrupted by the screeching of tires. He didn't hear them but their abrupt stops caught his attention. The officers jumped out of their vehicles with their guns pointed.

"Drop your weapons and get on the floor!!", One of the officers called out. Paul and the other two dropped their weapons and raised their arms to the air. They didn't hear what the other officers were saying but they know the drill. Paul looked back towards the two strange people but they were gone.

"The... The monster Slayers...", He muttered...
