The Dinner

"The duke is back my lady! Let us greet him shall we?" Emilia said in an excited tone.

Yuri just nodded at what Emilia said, the both of them then went downstairs to greet the duke. Yuri felt kind of nervous now that she will meet the rumored cold dukez but she keeps her posture and took a deep breath.

They arrived at where the duke was, the maids are all bowing and greeting him, he was...covered in blood. He noticed Yuri and Emilia going down the stairs and tilt his head.

"..Are you perhaps..Lady Zizika?" He asked as he looks at her with a calm gaze, it doesn't feel cold and scary at all.

Yuri gave him a nod and bowed slightly. "Yes, I am Yuri Zizika, my lord." Yuri answered and then looks at him. "Welcome back." She added.

The Duke, Toru Kineo stares at her and didn't say anything for a few seconds. He then whispered something to his assistant, who was standing besides him and walks away.

Yuri tilt her head as she witnessed the Duke walking away but didn't stop him whatsoever, she just stayed still, watching the Duke left.

The assistant then speaks in a polite manner. "My lady, the young master wants to rest for a while.." he said as he looks at Yuri.

Yuri then just nods at him "I see, I will see him at dinner then." she said as she walks away, going back to her room.

As Yuri walks towards her room, Emilia followed behind her, Emilia and Yuri chatted for a bit as they went upstairs.

Yuri thought to herself "Did the Duke...killed someone..?" she asked herself as she got a flashback when she saw the Duke covered in blood. She then thought again "What if he really is a cruel person? What would happen to me then..?" She then continued overthinking for a while.

It was time for dinner, the maids helped Yuri changed into a new dress and then escorted her to the dining room afterwards.

After arriving at the dining room, she sat on her seat and then patiently waited for the dinner to arrive. After a while, the Duke enters the room and sat on his seat too, he didn't even looked at her.

The Duke then looked at her after a while and speaks "So, are you not satisfied with the treatment in here?" he asks as he look at Yuri, who was looking at him too.

Yuri shook her head and answers "I am very satisfied my lord, the workers here treat me really well and I am very grateful for that." she said in a calm tone as she glances at Emilia, who was standing at the door.

"I see, thats good to know then." the Duke says, but not really sounding interested.

The food then arrived and the two of them started eating. It was silent at first but then Yuri decided to speak "Uhm, may I ask you a question my lord?" she asked as she look at the duke curiously.

The Duke then looks at her and tilt his head "Go on." he said as he wait for her question.

"When is the..wedding?" Yuri asks, seemingly uncomfortable at the topic even though she's the one who brought it up.

It took the Duke a few seconds before finally answering "It would be in three weeks." he answered blatantly.

Yuri then nods her head "I see." she said and then continued eating her food.

The both of them now stayed silent for the whole dinner, they didn't talk to each other or anything now. After eating, they both went into their separate ways, going into their own rooms.
