Double Edged Swords

A boy stood in front of two girls panting on the ground. He eyed the two of them with his hands balled into a fist, a few drops of sweat forming under his brow. Surrounding him was the result of their spar, a mess of destruction. The sight of darkness and light painted a contrasting combination that was pleasing to the eyes, but Sicarius knew that if he was touched by any one of those earlier red would be a part of the scenery. Mostly from Princess's attacks did he feel that he would die. Venus would attack fiercely, but her attacks weren't fatal and could merely incapacitate. Regardless, their combination was a challenging one to face. Sicarius felt that this was what he could actually call training.

"Shall we go for another round?" He said,

Princess and Venus glared at him, seemingly allies now against the threat known as Sicarius. The two girls stood up fast, Venus started to glow at a fast rate while Princess let her darkness seep out of her, manifesting into a bow and arrow. Venus accumulated light into a finger and then pointed at Sicarius while Princess shot arrows.

"Grandpa taught me this, Don't die!" She yelled as a ray of light shot from her fingers toward Sicarius. In the blink of an eye, the ray of light was in front of Sicarius who was in the midst of dodging Princess's arrows. Luckily for him, when the blinding light of Venus's ray arrived it seemed to suppress the dark arrows around it.

With the threat of the arrows gone, Sicarius simply had to jump to the side to evade Venus's ray of light. The ray carried on forward, penetrating a few inches on the wall before it dissipated into the air.

These kids didn't know the definition of holding back for a spar at all. If any of their attacks hit him he would have long been hospitalized. The two didn't think of this at all, instead, they were arguing once again.

"You're disturbing my arrows!" Princess whined,

Venus rebutted, "No! Your arrows were in the way!"

If this was a true battle, Sicarius would have killed them already. Conversing in the midst of a battle was stupidity, luckily for the girls, their opponent was merely Sicarius. He wouldn't aim to kill just yet.

He rushed forward and flicked the two girls in the forehead simultaneously. The two girls stumbled backward while Sicarius stood with his hands behind his back.

The two girls glared at him. Both had red spots on their foreheads making it quite a sight. They weren't fools. They were angry at each other but they knew the reason they were in that predicament was because of Sicarius. Once the two girls looked at him it seemed as if they reached a mutual understanding.

On Venus's fist was the accumulated power of the divine while on Princess's fist was an aura of evil energy seemingly ready to devour anything. Sicarius took on a battle stance, his hyperfocus having been long set to the maximum. The two girls were about to get serious.

"I'll attack him from the front, you go behind him!" Princess yelled as she charged.

Sicarius charged to meet her head-on. Making contact with her fists was nothing but harmful, so he could just dodge and counter. Her fist speeded towards him, a dark mass of evil energy. He expected her to try to punch, instead, she released the black energy in the form of energy blasts while she would kick and weave. Each kick and punch would be accompanied by an energy blast, and Sicarius could only commend her fighting tactics. With this manner of fighting, she had extended her reach and yet she was close just enough to apply sufficient pressure on him.

Behind him, he could feel Venus closing in fast but Princess was attacking so fiercely that he could only focus on his front. For the first time in their spars, he was on the defensive. However, that wasn't to last for long.

"Take this!" Venus yelled as her glowing fist sped toward the back of Sicarius's head.

In front of Sicarius, Princess had accumulated dark energy in her fist that she directed into a punch toward his face. With attacks fast approaching from the front and back Sicarius merely jumped high. Sicarius planned to kick the both of them from above, and yet when he dodged, instead of hitting him the two girls fist met in mid-air.

An explosion of two direct opposite energies clashing occurred, and all three children flew like ragdolls from the impact. Every piece of equipment that used to be in the chamber was sent crashing onto the walls. The two girls that were sent flying slid on the floor while Sicarius landed as gracefully as can be.

As carefree as Sicarius appeared, he had nothing but serious thoughts in his mind. His two weapons were quite deadly. When two negating sources of power collide, an explosion like that was normal. And yet, to qualify as a power source that could emit such an explosion both girls had to be as strong as early trained warlocks or mages in a few hundred worlds that he had conquered. They hadn't even used much of their power, just a tiny fist-sized collision could actually cause such a force.

As of now, these two girls have far surpassed him in potential. If he could realize that the founder, who had been watching for a while now, surely could. The two powered girls compared to Sicarius were more likely to be fit for the description of a savior. If the old man ceases to see any worth in him, there was no doubt he would lose his privileges as his disciple.

To be able to spar with such girls was quite a feat in itself already, and yet the girls weren't finished sharpened swords yet. These two girls were already double edged swords that would only get sharper over time. Sicarius had to grow much stronger to ensure that he can keep his two swords directed at nothing but the enemy. For now, all he had to do was remain in the tower and train, he simply had to ask.

Sicarius faced a direction and bowed where the old man was. Even though the entire residence of the old man was a mess of divine and evil energy, the old man didn't lash out in rage nor did he become irritated when he revealed himself. Instead, he had a stoic expression as he eyed Princess and nodded. Then he turned to Venus and his lips slightly perked up, lastly, he faced Sicarius and spoke, "You have a good eye for people boy,"

The old man levitated toward Princess who had just stood up before asking, "What's your name girl?"

"Princess," she paused," Princess Yin, but just Yin would be better."

"Alright, Yin, from now on you live here!" The old man nodded. Venus was about to retort which was stopped with the mere raising of a finger from the old man.

"Now, as part of your training, all of you must clean--"

"I would like to live here as well, mentor." Sicarius butted in.
