The Experiment

Two more days came and went. On the day when the project was meant to officially begin, Histoire woke up earlier than usual and paced about the living room for the few minutes before Kyouko showed up. Fiend had not appeared since that morning and she was mildly anxious and somewhat angry at the same time, though she knew that the anger she felt was actually frustration. Once the experiments had started, they would not stop until the scientists had discovered satisfactory results, and that could happen months later.

When Kyouko showed up at the door, she was concerned to see how upset Histoire was. She was more upset than the night before she left Reading for Tokyo.

"I don't know what to do," Histoire said in a low voice and Kyouko nodded, closing the door behind her after making sure there was nobody in the hallway. She had a briefcase with her that other traveling doctors used and she placed it down on the table.
