399: Who is the child's father (Part 1)

The first day of July brought a thunderstorm in the morning, rapid in onset and equally swift in departure. Now, the sun had already emerged.

Today, Mrs. Long in Bed 1403 looked much better, and this floor was filled with patients from the Neurosurgery Department.

"Poppy."

Poppy was Mrs. Long's daughter, an active member of a girl group.

Due to the special nature of Poppy's work, though not affluent, they still arranged for Mrs. Long to stay in a private room.

Reluctant to spend the money, Mrs. Long told her daughter, "You can send the caregiver home; I don't need one here."

"I'm not at ease without someone by your side."

"What's there to worry about when the nurses are here?"

"Nurses aren't always in the ward; there might be times when they can't attend to you." Poppy tried to reassure Mrs. Long, "Just focus on getting better here and don't worry about the money. I've already taken care of it."

"How did you take care of it?"
