Beating hearts

I woke up feeling refreshed. I strange sensation of peace washed over me when I felt my mum's hand wrapped around me carefully. She was awake already.

"Good morning mum" I greeted with a huge smile on my face.

" Morning to you too Ari, am surprised you greeted me today" she replied smiling as well.

"Don't say that mum. Let bygones be bygones okay?" I replied hugging her while laughing.

"Whatever you say. Now get your ass out of the bed and go prepare for school. I'll make breakfast today and maybe drop you off of you want" she said getting up already.

"I'd love you to drop me off but I'll go home myself" I replied already making my way to the bathroom.

"Sure".

Me and my mum were already on our way to school and I stared at her face for a while.

She had thick brown hair that was cut to a shoulder length, beautiful bright eyes, well defined chin, a perfectly shaped nose and a lip to die for. Her skin shone beautifully in the morning light. I stared at her admiringly and began to think. My mum had brown hair while I had black hair. The roots of my hair are light brown and blend perfectly with black .I had a very long hair, they stop at my waistline. I've thought about cutting it but my maid stood against it saying 

"Ariana, don't cut your hair. It's so beautiful. I've never seen anyone with a length of hair as yours".

I know I took the black hair from my dad because obviously my mum has brown hair. Infact I think they are few things I took from my dad like the colour of my eyes. I had light brown eyes while mum has dark eyes..

"What are you thinking about Ari?" My mum interrupted my thoughts.

"Mum am I beautiful?" I asked .

"Woah! Where's that coming from? You are beautiful dear maybe even too beautiful for your own good. Why are you asking?" She asked as she tried to keep her eyes on the road.

" Nothing mum just curious" I replied simply.

"Oooooohhh tell me , has any guy tried to ask you out?" She asked wriggling her eyebrows at me.

I thought about hunter and then drayce and I blushed a bit remembering our kiss.

"N-nothing like that mum" I stammered getting embarrassed.

My mum just shook her head knowingly not missing the blush on my cheeks .

"Just know that if you want any advice concerning your love life let me know dear" she said hold my hands.

"Ewwww mum! No way" I replied removing my hands and we both burst into laughter as we arrived in school.

"Goodbye mum, see you later" I said as I unbuckled my seat belt.

"Honey, I'll be traveling out today. I have a job but I'll be back as soon as I can ok?"

I sighed as I pushed down the feeling of sadness.

"Sure mum, see you soon. I love you" I replied kissing her cheeks and hugging her tightly.

I could see a look of surprise on her face briefly.

"I love you too. If you need anything call me" .

I walked to my class and it was empty except for a boy in black sitting at the far end of the classroom with his face in his hands. He looked quite familiar. Isn't that drayce? I thought.

I took my seat as quietly as I can and took out a book to read when I heard the sound of a chair move and I turned toward the sound and noticed he was no longer sitting there . When I turned to continue my reading I saw him standing in front of my locker . His dark eyes staring at me intently.

My heart hammered in my chest and breathing became difficult.

What does this boy want with me? I thought silently not tearing my gaze from his.

"Hello Ariana" he greeted his lips curving into a small smile.

"Good morning drayce" I replied standing up already.

"Where are you going?" He asked with one of his eyebrows slightly raised.

"I just realized I have somethings to do. I'll be right back" I replied and tried to walk away but he reached out to my wrist and pulled me till I hit his chest and his arms wrapped my waist tightly and my breath hitched being so close to him again. I could see his lips ever so tempting.

"Let me go" I said trying to struggle out of his grip but it was worthless.

"I'll let you go if you tell me why you heart is beating so fast" he whispered in my ears. His lips grazing my ears a bit.

"I don't know" I replied my voice shaking.

He chuckled softly and said.

"I don't know if you notices but my heart beats fast as well when I see you every single time. If you don't believe me then feel it yourself ". 

He took my hand and placed it on his chest and I could feel the fast beating of his heart too.

When I removed my hand his eyes hovered around my body before settling on my neck and he suddenly pulled me closer to him again. His lips landing on my neck as he placed soft kisses on it and I struggled to with hold a moan when the door of the classroom suddenly opened...
