Fated Story System (paused)

______ Paused for the moment... Due to my need to edit my story... I have paused this story... And it might be paused for a bit until I can get a solid schedule made for myself... If you have miraculously found this story, I am 1) surprised, and 2) flabbergasted... since I have paused this one for like 2 months... But you can try and read it if you wish. It might be slightly bland and with some boring text... but after edits it should be better, flow better. Also the last chapter I uploaded I think I added a semi end for the moment, but its not going to be the actual end of the story... ______ What if you were to die in the next moment? What if death gave you a new chance as long as it was an interesting story? Join Lucras in his adventure with the system that's sole purpose is to make his life and story more….Interesting. And his journey to find out that the worlds outside aren’t so simple. __________________ This story is set in the cursed universe, where multiple other books tell tales of adventure. These books characters will interact with one another and it will be an neat experience seeing two different sides. Though you are not forced to read the others as these books are good all by themselves, not requiring information from another one of the books. Cover art by @etqtay on Instagram.

Minor Book of Fates

Driftly loosely though what seemed like the void of space, Lucras was afraid that he was about to be extinguished. Had he died just before reaching the surface again? Questions like this and more swam through his head as unwillingness racked though him.

Waiting and waiting for the eventual final demise, he started to try to remember all the chances he had in his new life, he finally got a sister and a mom. Even though it was technically not his mom or sister, after many years alone by himself he finally felt family love and he wished he treasured it. Thinking about the evil system, and how now she would be lost to be bored till eternity make him slightly happy, while weirdly sad for her too. He didn't know where this sadness came from but it was definitely there.

Before he could questions his feelings, his surrounding seemed to change as stars seems to appear out of nowhere. As he zoomed past them, quickly zooming though the stars as he felt like he was traveling faster than any being should be able to travel. He felt as if he was traveling across galaxies at the rate he was going at until he slowed down he was slow enough that he could actually see the planets he was passing. Before long he felt himself slow down in front of a planet, the planet was barren and seemed to completely lack water. He felt some form of familiarity with the planet that he couldn't place, and before he got the chance to do anything he felt his surroundings disappear again.

The next thing that Lucras noticed was a rock roof above him, looking around he found that he was back at the cave entrance alive and well. Sitting up from his collapsed position, a sore pain seemed to spread across every muscle he had, even ones that he didn't know he had. After getting used to the pain and stretching, Lucras headed up to the cave entrance.

As he got closer he thought that this cave was a nice cave, so he might as well make this his home until he gets strong enough to escape these mountains. The thick fog in the forest around the mountain base seemed to be strong creatures that were weirdly running around. So until he was strong enough to kill them and get into the forest again, he was stuck in this place.

As he was about to leave the cave, a thought crossed his mind and he decided to talk to Ava about what had just happened. He was met with the same screen as before, a loading screen. It seemed Ava wasn't deflecting before and something was actually happening. Taking a better look at the blue screen before him, he noticed the timer reading [Time remaining 1 hr / 12 hr].

Deciding to prepare camp in this seemingly empty cave, he went outside of the cave and grabbed some small dry sticks that stemmed to fall onto the ground. As he traveled through the found dark brown trees and chalk white trees that had black lighting patterns down them. After exploring around his new cave and obtaining a few a few dry sticks, he returned to his cave and tried to start a fire again. This time he only needed to constantly curse for about half an hour before he finally started his fire. After the initial sparks a deep black flame arises out of the fire, which lights up the cave weirdly.

Sitting against the wall, he waited for the count down to finish, as the minutes ticked by he waited in isolation. Deciding to practice the breathing exercise since the silence was killing him, he waited.

After a few minutes, lights seemed to play around Lucras. Which he sadly didn't notice since he was focusing on his breathing and had his eyes closed. Magical symbols floated loosely around Lucras's head as they seemed to be prepared for a spell, Then an luminescent light seemed to exit his head before resting in the middle of the storm of symboles. Finally at this point Lucras noticed something was going on and opened his eyes.

A memorable scene was before his eyes. In a dark flame, spiraling colorful symbols moved around him. Inside he saw something interesting, A book. Looking like a small travel notebook, except strange symbols that looked more like runes were all over this small little notebook.

Feeling a grand amount of mana seem to be drawn towards the notebook, he watched with sparkling eyes. The notebook seemed to awaken as it drew in more and more, until it looked like a whirlpool of mana entered it. It continued until a burst of mana went outward from it. He then heard a voice in his head again.

[Open your mana veins, this is helpful for you]

Taking in Ava's advice again, he started his breathing exercise since that was the only mana thing he had. Feeling a rich warm feeling entered him seemed to enrich his physical being, creating a reviving feeling that felt like he was on top of the world.

After a few minutes the warmth flow felt like it slowed down until it felt like the normal flow. Opening his eyes again, he found that all of the symbols were gone, leaving a travel notebook on his lap.

Ava's voice rang out from the book this time, instead of his head telling him, [Why hello there, it seems that telling you the semi truth made fate move quite a lot, even forcing me out of that shell system.]

Surprised by the fact that he wasn't hearing Ava inside of his mind anymore, he looked closely at the journal. On it was the words, "Fated Story System" in a golden ink, across the top, and below it read "By: The Minor book of Fates".

[Well I guess now you get to actually see me, I am Ava, and I am the soul that lives in the treasure known as the Minor book of Fates, I see the possible future, and only the possible future as I am only a Minor law book. Now you don't need to concern yourself with what that means since you are pitifully weak.]

"Well, Since I am pitifully weak, why are you helping me? Since I don't think the great Ava would grace me with her presence for nothing right" He asked inquisitively, not even minding the fact that Ava seemed to look down upon him.

[Well one of my goals like all the gods in this universe is to find something interesting, since once you reach this point you find everything uninteresting in the infinite life that we have. There are some other goals, but no one expects much from someone as weak and pitiful as you] The book replied, as it opened its pages to reveal words that matched with was said.

Curious about the fact what this book could do, he though maybe this could replace the screen he originally had. He decided to try to open his status screen, and the book opened its pages and displayed a new status screen.

[[Status:

[Name: Lucras Tiller]

[Title: Swordsman, <Hidden>]

Health:(75/75)

Mana:(24/24)

Stress:(0/100)

[Stats:]

Physical : [Strength: 1]|[Speed: 1.4]|[Stamina: 0.8]

Spiritual : [Health Factor: 0.75]|[Mana Factor: 0.24]|[Intelligence: 5]

]]

Curious about how his stats increased a lot, he decided not to ask, as it would only get him some teasing that would ruin his better mood. A smile creeped onto his face as he was starting to feel like he was getting more used to his new circumstances.

Seeming to see him smiling, Ava spoke to him, [You seem different, like your much calmer, even though I would usually have to calm you down for some of my taunts. Interesting, what did you do during my recovery time?]

Surprised and a little dizzied by how the book pages flipped though as Ava talked, repeating what she said, he decided that he should ignore the flipping pages and just focus on her relaxing voice, he replied "I don't even know, I just remembering finding your loading screen funny in a weird way and then going into a weird dream, and finally waking up at the cave entrance."

Paged flipped as a confused voice sprang out [That's interesting, let me check though your fate… Interestingly, for the past 12 hours, I can't see what happened like you…. This shouldn't happen unless some powerful being interferes with fate like how the being of this world blocks me usually from my usual power…. Oh and I found out something else, you seem to have received a positive passive again.]

Lucras excited with his new found ability, decided to check, "Really, Let me check, passive status".

[[Passive:[Anxiety(-)]|[Depression(-)]|[Green Thumb(+) Lv 3]|[Sword knowledge(+) Lv 1]|[Steady mind(+) Lv 1: Neglects effects of negative mental statuses, and causes the user to learn from ^*^&%&*% faster, and makes contacts with &%*(&#$* easier.]]]

Got some help from another author to try and make my interface better to read. So I did that, while also getting in a book, since it is a Fated STORY system, so I made everything in a book.

Also if you like it then vote... And I will continue to write...

If you have recommendations for making things even more crazy for the poor MC, then comment it and if I like it and it fits into the story, then I will add it.
