The vast hall was alive with anticipation, a low, steady hum of voices and footsteps as the final preparations were underway. Each hero, soldier, and commander held their ground, a part of a great machine set to defend their world and everything it held dear. Raiden watched them assemble from his vantage point on the bridge, every soldier and hero moving into position with unwavering determination. At the edge of the balcony, he took in a deep breath, steadying himself for the battle to come.

Merlin approached from the side, his expression solemn but ready. "My King," he announced, his voice low yet clear, "Darkseid's army has crossed into the outer reaches of our solar system. The time has come."

Raiden's eyes sharpened, his expression resolute as he gave a single, powerful nod. "Then we move forward. Initiate the defense strategy—mobilize everyone to their positions, and as planned, we'll meet them head-on."

Swift and seamless, the army sprang into action, every element moving in sync. The immense fleet Da Vinci had prepared gleamed in the cold light of space, five massive mother ships standing as the backbone of Gaia's forces. Each ship was surrounded by sub-ships and a force of 44,000 Gaia War Drones, their metal bodies reflecting the gleam of the stars. Onboard The Argonaut, Raiden's personal flagship, gathered some of Earth's mightiest heroes—the Justice League, resolute and unbreakable, their faces set in grim determination. The remaining mother ships carried allies from across the galaxy—New Genesis soldiers, Tamaranian warriors, Earth's most valiant troops, and the newly established Young Justice team, each member ready to defend their planet to the last breath.

As Raiden observed the vast fleet assembling, Merlin approached him again. "Everything is prepared, my King. The Lantern Corps are maintaining the perimeter, securing the borders of our solar system, and waiting to intercept any stragglers. We're ready to meet Darkseid's forces at the designated coordinates."

Raiden paused, a hint of worry in his voice as he turned to Merlin. "And still no word from Ganthet or Sayd? They haven't arrived?"

Merlin's gaze turned grim as he hesitated. "No, my King. The Blue Lanterns have yet to arrive, and… we lost contact with them halfway to the rendezvous point."

Raiden's expression darkened, and he turned sharply, his voice edged with a rare flash of frustration. "What? What do you mean, 'lost contact'? And you're telling me this only now?"

Merlin met Raiden's gaze firmly, his voice level. "Forgive me, Raiden. But I didn't want you distracted by uncertainties in the moments before our departure. We cannot afford for our King to have divided focus—not now."

Raiden took a deep breath, calming himself. "You're right. I just…" His voice dropped, almost a murmur. "I just hope they're all right." With a final, steadying exhale, he made his way toward the podium, where his forces awaited his words, tens of thousands of eyes fixed upon him, awaiting his guidance, his reassurance. Countless cameras tracked his every move, broadcasting to the homes, cities, and hearts of every person on Earth who depended on their success.

Raiden stepped up to the microphone, his gaze sweeping across the assembly. Silence fell over the hall as everyone leaned in, listening.

"People of Earth, warriors, and heroes," Raiden began, his voice resonant and calm, yet carrying a weight that demanded attention. "Today, we stand on the precipice of our greatest battle. This is the war I have spent my life preparing for—the reason I've led us as I have, united us as I have, and protected us as I have. Today, we do not face an enemy who seeks control or dominance. No—this enemy desires our total extinction. Darkseid intends to blot out every light in the universe, to replace hope with eternal darkness."

He paused, letting the gravity of his words sink in. The soldiers, heroes, and citizens felt a chill, the weight of the truth pressing down on them. And then, Raiden continued, his voice firm, steady, a voice that ignited sparks in every heart.

"I could ask you to choose, but I already know your answer. I am your King, and I am also your voice, your will, your dreams. And so, I speak for all of us, and say—NO. We shall not allow this enemy to shatter our lives, to annihilate our universe, to destroy the futures of our children. As your King, I will stand on the front lines, and I will face this darkness myself."

Raiden's gaze swept over his soldiers, each one straightening under his words. "But this battle is not mine alone. Look around you. Today, Gaia's mighty military force stands ready, trained and led by the peerless General Scáthach, a warrior without equal. The Justice League, symbols of hope, led by Superman himself, stand beside us. The Young Justice team, shielded by Nightwing, the protector in shadows, joins the front lines. And our fleet—the Gaia Drones and Motherships, the work of our greatest mind, Leonardo Da Vinci—will strike with precision and power."

A sense of awe rippled through the crowd, some drawing courage from the incredible might surrounding them. Raiden's voice softened, yet his words held an undeniable conviction. "I ask this, people of Earth: pray for us. Send your best wishes to those here today, and to those protecting you beyond the stars."

Raiden looked directly into the cameras, his voice a steady comfort, yet carrying a spark that ignited in each listener's heart. "I cannot guarantee that every one of us will return. But I promise you this: every one of us will give everything—our courage, our strength, our lives—for Earth. For each of you, for every dream, and every life you hold dear."

He held their gaze, then turned to Merlin, his command swift and unyielding. "Now—activate the ships. Let the universe see what Gaia is truly made of."

As the words left his lips, the hall erupted in a surge of sound. A mighty roar rose from the gathered soldiers, heroes, and citizens, echoing through the vast expanse. Their voices melded into one unified cry, a resounding chant that filled the air, spilling out into the cosmos itself.

"For Gaia! For King Raiden!" they screamed, fists raised, faces lit with fierce pride and unbreakable resolve. The engines blazed to life, casting the fleet in a brilliant glow as the ships took formation, each warrior's voice a promise to protect, to defend, to overcome.

And as they surged forward, Raiden at their lead, their rallying cries carried through the stars, a testament to their courage and an unwavering vow to protect their world from the encroaching darkness.

....

Meanwhile, the Blue Lanterns mourned the loss of their fallen comrade, their grief a somber note amidst the brutal clash they faced. They fought desperately, every movement a battle of life and death, against a powerful and unrelenting foe—the first of Darkseid's elite to unleash his wrath.

Once known as Illuthin, now feared as Darkseid's ultimate assassin, Kento moved with lethal precision. A figure whose entire existence had been devoted to the art of assassination, he now closed in on the remaining Blue Lanterns, the deadly gleam in his eyes promising swift and merciless finality. One target had already fallen, and now, Kento readied himself to eliminate the others.
