Chapter 2 - Mates

Colette's POV

I slowly woke up to find myself in a Hospital. Why am I here?. Suddenly all the events of yesterday came flooding back to me. My fall, the boys and....the rejection. Just the thought of him made my eyes water,my mate rejected me! This isn't how its suppose to go. A woman came in and sat on the seat next to me. "Hi, I'm Melissa, you're nurse, can you tell me your name sweetheart?"

"Colette" I could sense that she smiled at me. "What a pretty name. Now, I have checked you over and you are good to go. Just take it easy alright, and the boys told me about the encounter with Derek." So that's his name. My eyes were threatening to spill over with tears at any second. Melissa left and the two boys from yesterday came bursting through the door. I covered my ears, "loud!" I shouted.

They haven't seemed to acknowledge that I'm blind, well not completely blind, I can sense things really well, I've learnt to I guess. The boys heartbeats slowed down as they began talking. "So what was the deal with you and Sourwolf?" One of them said, my face scrunched up in confusion. "Who is Sourwolf?" The same boy dramatically gasped. "Big angry wolf, the guy you broke down in tears over, the guy that seemed to really hate you?"

My tears finally fell as I turned away from them on my hospital bed. "Ok, look we're sorry, we just want to look out for you okay?" I turned back to them with red eyes. I nodded, "wolf thing" I muttered, I could smell one of them was a wolf too. The wolf picked up on it. "A wolf thing, what do you mean?" I just shook my head. "All you need to know is that Derek and I have never met until now. But our wolves knew eachother as soon as we made eye contact. Our wolves have a connection." That was the last thing I heard before I fell asleep.

Isaac's POV

I'm definitely going to go and see the Omega at the hospital, I don't know why Derek was so cold towards her. I could sense lots of tension between them, I think they must've met before, but he didn't even mention her name. Weird. I looked around to make sure Derek wasn't around, then snuck out.

I arrived at the hospital and followed the girls scent too a hospital room. She was weak and definitely sad, I could sense that she was previously crying her eyes out.

I was kind of angry with Derek right now, what happened between them that the girl would be in tears. I sat down next to the girl on the hospital chair and grabbed her hand. "Hey, I'm Isaac, part of Derek's pack, his beta. I wanted to make sure you were okay after what Derek did." She turned towards me and I noticed something, her eyes. They seemed somewhere else, like they weren't looking at me. "I'm blind" She said, sighing towards the end.

My eyes widened, "How do you and Derek know eachother?" She opened her mouth the answer when the door banged open. Derek was standing there, his fangs out and his eyes shining blood red. "GET AWAY FROM HER!" He roared, I was about to protest but he grabbed my neck and slammed me against the wall. "STAY AWAY FROM HER!" I was struggling to breathe. "SHE IS MINE!" The girl was looking petrified. Derek was still choking me when the girl got up from the bed and approached us from behind.

I was struggling to think of what she was going to do to stop Derek from killing me. She shocked everybody in the room by wrapping her small arms around Derek's back. He immediately calmed down at her touch and all his anger melted into nothing. He wrapped his arms back around her and nuzzled his head into her neck and breathed in her scent. Okay, this is really odd. I thought Derek hated her?! They broke apart and stared at eachother. "You're mine" She nodded and he left in a few seconds.

She sat back down on her hospitable bed and fell asleep. I turned to Scott and Stiles, "I really hope I wasnt the only person to fin that extremely odd?!" They both shook their heads. "One minutes she's crying her eyes out over him, the next, she's wrapping her arms around his back and he is no longer a massively Sourwolf! It's like when she's around him, he isnt a big angry Alpha werewolf."

Colette's POV

I was running through the forest and tripped, the man still chasing me. I screamed as I rough hand covered my mouth and I felt a sharp sting in the side of my neck.

I woke up in a dark and wet basement. There was a gag over my mouth, I struggled and shrieked but no one came to rescue me. I used my canines to cut through the gag and my claws to break the ropes tied around me. I ran to the steel door and tried knocking it down. It would not budge.

I was about to ram into the door when it was slammed open by a tall and muscled man with a baseball bat. He started coming at me and as soon as the bat was going to land on me-

I woke up screaming. "NO!" Isaac was worried, one other boy- the human was asleep and the other wolf was awake. "What happened?" Tears started streaking down my face. "Was it a nightmare?" The other would asked. I shook my head, I want Derek, I want my mate with me. "Get Derek" I didn't care how selfish I sounded, I just wanted to have my mate's arms around me, holding me close. Making me feel safe.

Within minutes Derek was at the door and he rushed towards me. I looked up at him and more tears fell. He sat on the bed and wrapped me in his arms, I feel safe with him. Nobody else, I can be behind several hundred soldiers but not feel as safe as I do with my mate. I breathed in his scent, leather and forest. He kissed my forehead and looked me dead in the eyes. "It wasnt a nightmare was it" I shook my head.

"It was a memory"
