Chapter 4

"I'm sorry Riolu..."

'What are you saying sorry for?'

"I kept this to myself for a long time..."

'What?' I questioned in my mind. I can't manage to say it because Eevee looked very serious at this moment. I can tell that there are tears that wants to escape from her eyes but she's stopping it. I have known her already for days, months and years. We already know each and other's secrets, likes, dislikes and fears. Eevee continued,

"It's looks like it's time..."

'T-time? Time for what?' I was wondering what did she meant? Time for what?

I want to talk back but I was speechless and my mouth can't move. My anxiety keeps increasing and I feel very nervous. I never felt this nervous in my entire life, I feel so nervous now than when we're fighting some of the Legendary Pokémons we faced on our adventures.

When Eevee told me her next sentence. I was left in utter shock.

"It's time to say good-bye..."

"H-huh?! Goodbye?! What do you mean?!"

Eevee sighed when she saw me panicked, she looked at the skies as if she was reminiscing something. I was about to ask another question when she finally talk.

"Dusknoir told me that if we changed the future... The Pokémon from the future would disappear..."

"..."

"And that's why..." Eevee finally faced me and continued,

"I'm destined to disappear too..." Then she showed me a smile. A bittersweet smile that slowly choked my heart. A realisation hit me.

'Eevee.. is going to.. disappear?'

"Huh? What? Wh-why!?" I couldn't hold back my tears and I was now stuttering. I couldn't keep the emotions flowing out of me. I continued,

"Wh-why?! I don't understand!" I wanted an explanation. I kept asking why but Eevee ignored it and started thanking me.

"Thank you for Everything..."

"Wai-"

"I'm going to disappear here now..."

'No! Please! Don't-'

"But, Riolu..."

"?"

"..."

"..."

I thought the silence will just keep on going when Eevee finally continued,

"I will never forget you even if I disappear, I promise you that I will always remember you, Riolu." Ending the promise with that smile I didn't forget. That same smile when I saw from her back then when we managed to beat Zubat and Koffing at the Beach Cave. Where we had our first adventure in a dungeon together.

"Wait a second!" I screamed and got near to Eevee cupping her cheeks.

"?"

"I've only gone this far because of you! Because you were with me Eevee!"

"..."

"Don't you understand? Your the only Pokémon who made me strong and brave like this!"

"..."

"I-if you g-go..."

"..." Eevee was also crying at this moment, but her smile didn't faze.

"I don't know... What would I..."

I was about to say "Do" but Eevee shook her head and looked at me.

"No! Riolu! You have to be strong in your own... For me... You have to live... You have to go home..."

"No-"

"Tell everyone what happened here... So that nothing like this will ever happen again in the future..."

"B-but... E-Eevee..."

Eevee can't stand any longer so she fell to the ground and the light coming from her grew into a large number. Her faint glow from her was now slowly shining brightly. It's a sign that she is near to disappear.

"D-don't!"

I couldn't do anything, I couldn't think straight, I just hugged Eevee and beg her not to leave me all alone. I begged her not to disappear.

"Don't... Go...."

"Thank you for everything Riolu, I'm glad that we trained together at the guild, glad that we got to go on adventures together..."

"N-no"

" I am very happy that you we're the one who found me at the beach...",

"I am so very happy and lucky..."

"W-wait..."

"That you are my partner..."

I can't seem to speak because I was crying my eyes out and I can't really stop my flowing tears from the sudden truth.

I kept saying "Don't go" or "Please don't leave me" but I know it can't stop nor make Eevee disappear slower. But I slept begging and hoping that she will stay by my side.

Because we prevented the Planet's Paralysis. Eevee, who was a human who became a Pokémon from the future, will also disappear because the present changed.

"..."

Eevee noticed that I can't seem to speak right now but she was slowly disappearing and before I could even run towards her and hug her tightly. She showed me her one final smile as she is close to disappearing.

"Farewell... Partner..."

Farewell Partner.

Those were her final words before she slowly disappear from my arms...

"I still remember clearly what happened... I can still remember the memories I spend fondly with Eevee..."

"Memories... Of Eevee... But now.. S-she's gone..."

I slowly felt a wet sensation at my cheek and I know the reason why.

"E-Eevee..."

My vision was already blurry because of the tears slowly flowing from my eyes. I screamed because i thought somehow it can slowly or maybe ease what i am feeling but it made it worse.

I was slowly crying my heart out.

"Eevee!!!"

My knees went weak and i went down to the sands still crying.

"Wah! Riolu!"

I heard someone called for me but I can't stop crying because it just flowed all out. My view was already blurry from the tears. I need to let it all out.

My frustrations and regrets...

Eevee...

I need you...

It hurts...
