Acceptance

I awoke to the smell of ash and fire. The streets were layered with wood and ash from my village. She had destroyed it all. People had left, people had died. I stood up and saw nothing left other than the walls of my shop.

"You," someone shouts. I turn around. "You are Geoffrey aren't you?"

"Yes, who are you?" I asked

"That doesn't matter, but she left you a message, go west to find her, she is expecting her son."

"I'm not her son!" I exclaimed, but the person was gone

I set off to travel to her castle, the forest was full of orange leaves from Autumn. Nothing was here, just water, trees and wood! Oh, and the giant floating tower where my mother was!

I walked inside with my blade ready, expecting a fierce battle. There was nothing, no one. It was empty, only potions and writing on desks.

I walked through more rooms, nothing more. One of the tables had an unusual shine. I walked over to the table and on there was a sort of stone. Next to it was a note saying 'Jeffrey's blood bond' that was my fathers.

He had died before I was born, this was what was left of him now. Blood bonds are what connect two people together, but when one dies all that is left is their bond. The other can take it wherever they want, bury it with them, keep it, anything.

"Welcome home, my son!" she said, I turn around

"I'm not your son," I say "Today, you die!"

"We shall see!" She draws a sword and jumps towards me.

She strikes on me, but I block. I jump onto a table and slash at her face, I missed. We clash blades.

"Give up, you can't win!" I said

"Your confidence is your downfall!" She says

We fight through corridors, inside working rooms, all over. We enter her throne room, I go to hit her waist. She blocks and quickly tries to attack me. I try to block, but she hits me and cuts my arm. I go for her and barely scratch her side. We continue to hit swords for a while until she knocks my sword out of my hands.

"It is over, my son, I have won!" She says smiling

"No, not yet!" I say dropping down and swiping my leg at hers. I knock her down, dropping her sword. She has no power left now.

"I will not kill you, but I will turn you over to the Royal Throne!" I said

"Haha, I don't think so! I will die here, my home!" She then pulled out a small dagger and lodged it into her chest

"NOOOO!" I shouted, "Mother, stay with me. I can get you help, I can heal you!"

"So what, you can put me in a cell and leave me there forever?"

"No, fix you, make you into my mother again. Someone who didn't kill hundreds of people!"

"Sadly, that won't be happening, I will die today!"

"Mother!"

"Freedom at last!" she disappeared leaving only her blood bond to my father. The fight was over.

Many months past and I had been on many adventures, but my time had ended, and a new one would rise! I flew to my mothers home, on my flying carpet, I dismounted and looked at the ruined structure it had been destroyed from a fire that had been released there. I dug her blood bond in the ground where she walked. I then went to my fathers home and did the same.

"No one has been here in many years," I turn to a woman, "Who are you?"

"Geoffrey" I reply

"Geoffrey who?" I look back to my fathers home and see my mother before she became a Dark Enchanter and my father.

"Geoffrey Renstride," The woman's wolf smiled in happiness, I walk away and watch the glowing sun fall on the world. My carpet floated in the air as I watched the sun. My time has finished, but your time is soon to begin, my son.

"Wait, James, your father was Geoffrey Renstride?" Peter asked

"Weren't you listening?" James asked

"Yeah, only when there was fighting!"

"Yes, Peter was my father!"
