The desert

Three months of schooling remain, May, Yuki, and Jenny cannot leave with Actrus for the desert.

Mey said, "Actrus, do you really have to leave on your own? Who will protect your shoulders? You can not wait a few months? I do not want to leave you alone with that girl!"

Actrus replied, "I'll be back in three months, you do not have to worry, I'll take you with me in three months, we'll all go to Geren!"

Actrus put clothes, food and a large amount of water inside his space cube, then he greeted his mother and sister and finally left.

Every two months there was a large merchant caravan going to Geren, there was no attack by bandits or marauders, the only attacks came from the numerous monsters.

Actrus had its now customary old duster coat, a pair of large goggles that served to protect the eyes from the sand and a cotton bandana that covered the mouth.

There were twenty mercenaries to protect the merchant's caravan, the chief was a man with no hair, he had a red eye and the other black and one bad scar on his face.

No one cared about Actrus was almost invisible, he followed the armored cars on foot, without saying a word.

In the desert, there were numerous oases, where small villages were built, but after the numerous attacks of the monsters, these villages were left almost all uninhabited.

The desert dunes extended almost to infinity, the scorching sun created small diffractions of light, small rainbow mirages.

Actrus was completely dusty, had walked in the desert for two days but did not feel tired or thirsty.

The night was coming and the monsters at night were looking for food.

A small bonfire had been lit, some mercenaries roasted monster flesh when suddenly a scream tore the air.
