CHAPTER 56: TRAINING OUTSIDE

'I knew it.' Old bro thought. 'She really is from that extinct race.'

"What does it do?" Arlo at this point had already calmed down.

A technique with such a domineering name must be nothing to scoff at.

"It is a power that controls the overbearing astral energy to do your bidding in your immediate surroundings," Anita explained solemnly. "Honestly, I feel like Ruler's authority doesn't lose at all to my innate universal devouring ability."

Arlo took a little while to digest what the slime just said before he asked, "How do I use it?"

"Just send your Ki into the seal and leave the rest to me."

Checking his body, Arlo realized that it was less than half of his total Ki.

His continuous sustenance of Anita and his little experiment on the orb laws had drained over half of his Ki.

Arlo started sending his Ki into the slime seal, however even after a short while, the seal continued to swallow his Ki like a bottomless well.

It wasn't until after only ten percent of his Ki remained that it stopped.

At this point, Arlo's forehead was already matted with sweat.

Anita seemed to be concentrating and in just a few seconds, several blue streaks of energy left the seal and started congregating at his neck, specifically at his larynx.

Feeling the enormous energy at his neck, Arlo looked around the empty room and wondered what to do.

His eyes suddenly lit up as they fell on the token on his bed.

Moving closer to the bed, Arlo stretched his hand toward the token and spoke with a dignified face…

"Come!"

*Whoosh!* The token immediately flew into his hand.

Arlo was surprised and speechless as he marveled at the power of Ruler's authority.

He felt like the immediate fifty centimeters with him at the center, was under his control.

Anything he commands must come to pass.

Moving further back so as not to affect his bed, Arlo looked at the floor made of darknite and commanded…

"Be crushed!"

*Crack!* spider-web cracks spread across the floor fifty centimeters around him, however, Arlo wasn't happy at the display of power as he felt the enormous energy at his neck drained completely before he was thrown into a coughing fit.

He fell on his knees and clutched his throat tightly.

"ARLO!" Anita's concerned voice resounded in the room as she quickly moved towards him.

…..

After three hours of meditation, Arlo's eyes snapped open.

The little slime that had been silent all this while so as not to disturb him, jumped into his embrace.

His sore and wounded throat was healed.

Moreover, all his Ki was recovered.

Although he continuously lost a small amount to sustain Anita, overall Arlo found it negligible compared to his massive pool.

Besides, he didn't want to send her back into the seal. He didn't plan on summoning her only when he was in battle.

After playing a bit with the little slime, Arlo finally made his decision.

"I need to train."

He needed to find out the limit of his newfound power.

Looking at the tiny cracks on the floor, Arlo didn't dare to continue his training in his room.

Moreover, he was too excited to care about how to repair the floor, so he sent Anita back into the seal and quickly left the room.

He didn't want to expose her existence and bring unwanted attention to himself.

Besides, she would be his hidden trump card.

Outside the castle, he found Joe training at his usual spot.

Unlike before, a thick purple mist surrounded him, and if not for his divine sense, he wouldn't be able to see him.

Deciding not to interrupt his training, he moved a considerable distance before stopping.

"Let's first test my physical strength."

There was no tree or boulder he could practice on, so he decided to ask old bro for help.

'Can you help me gauge how strong I am?'

<< Alright! Leave it to me. >>

'Thanks.'

Taking a deep breath, Arlo bent his knees and raised his fists as he assumed a fighting stance.

A few years back, his father had trained him on how to fight, together with the technique to sense and absorb Ki.

Without further suspense, his body moved as he threw out normal punches and kicks.

He moved around constantly as he visualized fighting an opponent.

The air made booming sounds with every punch of his fists, and with every sweep of his legs, the air seemed to split.

After about twenty minutes of training, he finally stopped.

Though his head was a bit matted with sweat, he didn't feel tired at all.

He could continue for another three hours with no problem.

'How did I do?' he asked in his mind.

<< Overall, your battle power compares favorably to your previous self when concentrating one hundred percent Ki at one part. >>

Arlo was stunned for a while before his body started trembling from excitement.

'How powerful!' he thought as he gazed at his clenched fists.

One must not forget that the previous him when concentrating all his Ki on one part could fight equally with a peak-level beginner mage.

In other words, as a new first-star warrior, he had the battle power of a third-star warrior.

And that only applied to when he used normal punches and kicks.

What would happen if the current him concentrates all his Ki in one part?

In his excitement, he decided to put his thoughts into practice.

Taking a deep breath, he willed all the Ki in his body at his right hand.

Clenching his fist, he punched out.

*Boom!* the generated shock wave moved forward for about two meters before dissipating.

His mouth hung open from surprise.

With a shaky voice, he asked once more in his mind, 'How strong was that?'

<<The power from that blow was as strong a fourth-star warrior.>>

A fourth star warrior has a battle power that lies in between an initial and mid-level advanced mage.

'With the orb laws, ruler's authority, and Anita, together with my raw physical strength, I should be able to battle a mid-level advanced mage.'

The artifact spirit didn't comment on his thought.

'But why am I not bleeding like usual?' Arlo asked in confusion as he looked at his clenched fist.

Normally his skin would have cracked open, with some of the meridians destroyed. Yet such a thing didn't happen this time around.

<< It is normal. Your compatibility with Ki increased once you broke through. Not to say that your physical body has been strengthened a lot. Though it is not as hard as steel, it is not that far from it. >> Old bro said before he continued, << Besides don't forget that you have a special physique, which is why the quantity and quality of Ki in your body far outstretch your current level, allowing you to battle against those in higher levels. >>

Arlo finally understood why he was so strong for his level.

As for the name and nature of his special physique, Arlo didn't dwell on it.

With time, he would unravel all its mysteries.

"Next," Arlo said as he stretched both of his palms out.

Immediately, two orbs of Ki appeared on his palms.

The ringing sound of the rotating orbs woke the faraway Joe, as his eyes snapped open in Arlo's direction.

'What the hell?'
