CHAPTER 204: SPACE AND TIME

Silence.

Within the chaotic void, there was nothing but pure darkness. There was no life, no natural laws, no space-time, no gods, only nothingness.

Suddenly, two horizontal cracks hundreds of thousands of miles long appeared within the void. The cracks slowly widened, and after what seemed like an eternity, two titanic eyes appeared within the silent void. The eyes seemed to encompass the entire universe with its size.

However, its size wasn't what made it special. Its appearance itself was nothing short of heaven-defying. Its existence was simply out of the world.

The sclera of the eyes seemed to mirror the chaotic void around it, while the ring formed between the iris and pupil was a resplendent golden river within which swam endless golden runes. Each rune was unique, radiating an aura that seemed to even precede ancient, and holding different boundless powers. The ring in the right eye spun clockwise while the ring in the left spun counterclockwise, creating an effect that seemed to distort the chaotic void around it.

Despite the eyes being the only presence within the void, a heavenly voice soon resounded:

"It is almost time."

The slowly opposite spinning eyes seemed to pierce into the void in front of it, and not before long countless images flashed before it.

The sight of the Realm of the gods appeared in its sight. It saw the beautiful, otherworldly plane that seemed to span the size of countless universes and was occupied by only higher beings, gods. One god after another flashed before it and soon after, the ten supreme gods appeared before it, followed by the strongest gods, the three sovereign gods.

However, the eyes didn't even spare them a moment, and instead pierce further into the void before its vision reached into another plane, one no less massive than the realm of the gods. The only difference was that while the realm of the gods looked and felt like the abode of heavenly beings, the underworld gave off a sinister and evil feeling. Presences no less strong than the fabled gods flashed before its eyes one by one, but as if feeling disdain for them, the eyes at most spared them a glance before moving further into another plane.

The mortal plane.

The speed at which the eyes seemed to spin seemed to have increased up a notch, and without hesitation, its eyes zoomed past billions of starfields, and countless worlds before settling on one.

Piercing into the world, the sight of vampires, magical beasts, and werewolves in war flickered before it but as usual, the eyes ignored them all, as if searching for a particular thing.

Its vision soon moved into the minor world the Darkblood was located in, before instantly settling on a figure.

A group of children were riding on an enormous snake 40 meters long. Of course, to the eyes, the snake was nothing but a speck of dust. Yet, for the first time, the vision of the eyes lingered on one being for several moments and didn't seem to have any intention of withdrawing any time soon.

The eyes were fixed on a boy, a back-length golden-haired boy, whose silver eyes within which rested blue draconic irises shone with an intelligent light that didn't seem to match his age. The eyes pierced into the existence of the boy, and soon, unknown to Arlo, all his secrets started revealing themselves before they were all laid bare.

Anita, Kira, Kong, and six more unawakened summons...all special existences from the world of the gods, and even some seemed to be from the underworld.

The greatest divine relic that had been lost and searched for within the realm of the gods...The Chaotic Twin-swords.

Merging with the most unique existence among dragons, one that bore the greatest destructive power.

And most importantly, his talents...

"Mortals giving birth to a god, an outlier that has never appeared since time immemorial..." The eyes mumbled to themselves as they studied Arlo.

It could see the divine treasure actively restraining Arlo's status as a god, but it seemed even the greatest artifact of the realm of the gods had reached its limit. The eyes could tell that in but a few hours, its restraint would be broken...

"His affinity for time, for me, has reached a level that was deemed impossible..." A glint of excitement seemed to flash within the spinning eyes for an instant before disappearing as if an illusion.

"Hmm?" Suddenly, the eyes withdrew their focus from Arlo and the planes altogether, before focusing on the void in front of it.

A vertical crack appeared before it, as it slowly widened. A single vertical eye, that was the size of the two golden eyes combined appeared before it. The single eye, deep silver in color, contained endless concentric circles that made one fall into an infinite loop the instant they gazed into it.

"Brother..." The two golden eyes whispered at the single eye before it. Despite, the distance between them being countless light years, the silver eyes seemed to be in front of it, which was an effect caused by the silver eye, despite the absence of space within the void, its authority overruling that reality.

"Sister..." The countless concentric circles seemed to focus on it, and soon after a deep voice whose power seemed to send even the chaotic void around it shaking, boomed across the area:

"Are you really going to do it? The others will not be happy."

"Hmph..." A light harrumph that could stun the heart of any man resounded before that heavenly beautiful voice continued:

"Who cares about them? An anomaly like this boy has never existed since we awakened our sentience. How can I give up this chance?" Innumerable years had passed since they awakened their sentience. Forget about the mortal plane, they have watched billions of gods fabled for their eternal lives rise and fall. They have watched countless gods rise to the level of sovereign gods and have lost a sense of how long they have existed. Now something which has never occurred before since their existence had taken place, and that thing was even related to it, how could it not take advantage of it?

The deep male voice didn't reply for a long time before it asked a question, one which had even been disturbing the golden eyes.

"What about Aether?"

Unlike before, the golden eyes didn't immediately reply. After some time, its voice resounded, this time sounding a bit more subdued.

"I will not lose this opportunity, brother. I will not." It stressed again.

The deep male voice sighed before speaking with a resigned tone:

"Fine. I will stop the others from noticing what you are about to do. How long before they realize it, I don't know."

"Thank you..."

"As for Aether, let's hope it remains uncaring as it has since that brat, goddess of destruction died."

"Hmm." the otherworldly beautiful voice sounded in agreement. It didn't fear the others, and as for Aether, it could only hope it wouldn't meddle in its affairs.

.....

The Lunar World.

The higher world which had been enjoying a decade of peace was suddenly thrown into chaos overnight.

War ravaged the five continents, and with each passing breath, millions died, their lives ever lost to the underworld.

Nightingale.

The once quiet yet great capital city of the vampires was now a ruin of destruction. Several high-rise buildings collapsed to the ground, fire rose into the dark sky with smoke spreading across the area. A river of blood flowed across the ground, and that enticing metallic scent that the vampires would usually love to smell made the few remaining vampires nauseous.

After Scarlett's sudden disappearance, many of the powerful vampires charged into the central continent to find the cause of her disappearance. These presences included the Queen, the nine protectors, and Lady Evangeline. Just like the vampires, the Elders of the werewolves had also hurried to the central continent, after their Queen's pack members felt her disappearance through their connection.

After these powerful figures arrived in the central continent and found out that the culprits of the situation were the corrupted, they commenced a massive slaughter in anger.

But what they didn't know was that they had unconsciously shot themselves in the foot. Their territories which had lost a huge part of their main force suddenly suffered abrupt attacks from demons, with an abomination each appearing within their capital cities.

An abomination, Greed appeared within Nightingale, and before the King who despite feeling anguished about his master and mother-in-law's welfare, could react, Greed summoned countless undead into the capital city, while at the same time, the other cities within the northern continent suffered varying attacks from Corrupted.

The abrupt appearance of hundreds of millions of skeleton soldiers, Knights, Archers, and mages threw Nightingale into chaos, and but a few minutes after their appearance, rivers of blood flowed.

The king had quickly acted and tried to stop Greed's onslaught. Supported by four Counts, the current leaders of the vampire clans, the King had thought he would be able to restrain Greed, even if he couldn't defeat him.

But the outcome was far from what he expected. In but a single move, three Counts died before the regenerative abilities of their bloodlines could even kick in. Left with no choice, King Nathan had to face Greed alone. But despite being among the five strongest vampires alive, Scarlett excluded, he could barely hold on for thirty minutes.

After their short yet terrifying clash, King Nathan knelt on the floor as he panted for breath. His body was completely covered in blood, his body not able to regenerate any longer due to his reserve of energy having reached rock bottom.

Just like him, the titanic figure of Greed, who had only a single eye on his head, resembling the fabled Cyclops, also suffered mid-grade injuries. But it merely stretched out its hand and absorbed many undead around it, before its chopped hand regenerated instantly. The cuts around his three-hundred-meter-high body quickly healed too, as it returned to the state it was in when it appeared.

Despite the tired look on his face, King Nathan's ruby eyes shone with an angry light, the dark veins beneath them spasming.

Just when Greed raised his massive hand to finish him, ten powerful figures suddenly approached from afar.

Except for the Queen who had remained behind within the central continent to keep searching for her mother, Lady Evangeline and the nine protectors had returned.
