Chapter 46: Korean

Lianne dragged Jordy to meet the lady whom she had met earlier.

"Aunty I didn't know you were the special guest of honor. I'm really sorry for bumping into you earlier" Lianne apologized to the lady.

"I told you it really wasn't your fault. I also wasn't looking were I was going" the woman replied while Jordy kept signalling her not to blow his cover. He wasn't prepared to let Lianne know that this was his mom. She might be able to guess his identity.

"uhm... how about I take you out for lunch?" Lianne proposed. She wasn't willing to let go about the fact that she was wrong.

"okay then" the woman replied with a sigh seeing as the young girl wouldn't let it go. Moreover she could just treat it as her future daughter-in-law taking her out, she thought with a smile.

"hello aunty. I'm Jordan, I also want to apologize on her behalf. I'll also treat you to lunch" Jordan said. His mom immediately got the clue. He was trying to use this opportunity to take her (Lianne) out for lunch.

Lianne chose a restaurant close by and they had barely finished ordering for their meal when Evelyn faked an important call and had to leave. Jordy smiled at his mother's attempt.

The meal finally arrived and they both settled down to eat.

"do you know that woman?" Lianne asked him. When he was speaking to the old lady earlier, he sounded a bit familiar to her.

"Why do you ask?" Jordy asked cautiously. He didn't want Lianne to become suspicious of his identity to prevent any more lies.

"I just thought you both sounded familiar with each other" Lianne said

"I've met her on few occasions before" Jordy said which wasn't entirely a lie because he had met her at occasions before. Saying few was just an understatement

"So you participated in the fashion competition" Jordy said

"More like I was forced to participate. The girls signed me in for the competition without my knowledge. It was only after I had been accepted, that they finally told me" Lianne said before taking a bite out of her steak

"So are you coming to school tomorrow?" Jordy asked her

"Yup. The results for the competition would be coming out tomorrow so I have to be around." Lianne said.

"So tell me. While growing up, what were your favourite memories" Jordy asked

"hmm. Being with my family I guess. I grew up without a mom and at that time, my brothers filled in the gap. I was basically the favourite great grandchild." Lianne said

"Really? How comes? Weren't the others jealous or something?" Jordy asked making Lianne giggle a bit

"Amongst all the great grandchildren, only four of us were girls. Two of them are twins. The guys weren't really bothered about that kind of stuff. My first cousin, who was also the eldest female great grandchild of our family, went missing while she was still a child. I never really met her. Our family has been looking for her for quite a long time. The twins weren't also bothered. As the youngest, I was the most doted upon. Everyone loved me" Lianne said.

"You only mentioned four girls. How many guys are there?" Jordy asked

"They are plenty. I have four brothers..." Lianne said before Jordy started choking on his drink.

"I thought you said you have two brothers." Jordy said

" I have two blood brothers. The other two are adopted by my great grandfather. They grew up in Korea. " Lianne replied

" So you're Korean? " Jordy asked

"Not exactly but something like that" Lianne said

"Me too" Jordy said

"Really? What's your Korean name? " Lianne asked

"Ji Min-Jun. What's yours?" Jordy replied and asked

"Fu Mi-Ari. My Korean name was given to me by my great grandfather. I only use it while I'm in Korea." Lianne explained.
