Girlfriends

"I'm sorry for your loss." Luke said sympathetically.

"Thanks. Have you talked to James?" Freya poured their coffee into two mugs and handed him one.

"No, I called him, but he didn't pick up. I think he needs some time."

Ding dong

The doorbell started ringing and Luke raised his eyes at Freya in question. Who would visit her at 8pm?

"Let me get the door." She walked past him to reach the door and he followed.

"I'll come with you."

"Hello neighbor." Dr. David greeted Freya as he peered at Luke standing behind her.

"Hi, is there anything I can do for you?" She was shocked at his visit and felt glad that Luke was there with her. She thought back to Luke's advice to move and it suddenly seemed like the right thing to do.

Dr. David cracked that fake smile seeing that Luke was there. "Yes, your guest's car is blocking my driveway and I need to go out." He answered referring to Luke's car.

Freya looked to the discussed car and saw that it was a black mustang, it looked new and beautiful. "That's your car?" She glanced back at Luke and he nodded.

"Yeah. I'll move it right now." He said the last part to Dr. David, but he didn't move. He was waiting for Dr. David to leave Freya's compound first, he didn't want to leave her alone with the crazy doctor.

After he realized Luke won't budge until he left, he clenched his jaw and walked to his car. Luke followed and went to his own car.

After moving his mustang, Luke walked back to Freya who was still watching him on her doorstep. "I love your car, it looks amazing." She complimented glancing back at the mustang.

He chuckled, "I'll let you drive it any day you are ready." He whispered coming close to stand in front of her. She had to look up at him because of how tall he was.

"I would love that." She said grinning.

"You don't know what your smile does to me, Freya. It draws me in and makes me want to spend the whole night just looking at you smiling." He stepped closer as he said this.

"You are being cheesy again, and I think it's time for you to go. I need my beauty sleep." She chuckled taking a step back.

"Why are you always running away from me, why can't you let me get close? Were you hurt in your past relationship?" Luke asked her as he stepped closer to her until they're chest to chest.

"It's not that I don't want you to get close, but it's hard for me to do so. My past boyfriend hurt me bad, and that makes me recoil whenever you try getting close. I like you Luke, and I want to be with you, that's why I agreed to date you." She said and sighed rubbing the cold from her arms.

"I understand and I'll be patient and wait for you to let loose with me. I want you to know that I'll never hurt you and I'll always be here for you." He searched her eyes as he took her hand, he kissed her palm close to her wrist.

"I'm really glad I met you."

He released her hand and stepped back. "Go in before you catch a cold, I'll call you in the morning."

"Good night."

"Good night, baby." She watched as he walked to his car and drove away. She went back inside her house and closed the door shut. Time to sleep before Dr. Creepy comes back and those horrible screams start again.

Dr. David was watching Freya and Luke's interaction, and he didn't like it. He had seen them together in the hunted house and in the town's party, and he was getting worried that she may tell him something.

Dr. David didn't like Freya at first, but now, he found her intriguing. There was just something about her that makes him want to be present in her life. He has watched her every day from his house and observed all her activities at home, and he has followed her to work twice to see the kind of environment she works at.

Clara didn't like her either and would have had him dispose her if not for his plan to watch her first and see if killing her will cause trouble or not. He didn't know why he let her live, maybe it was the way she looked while working on her computer, determined or the way she never backed down or showed any fear towards him. He wanted to be present in her life and have her to himself.

Gwen rang Lin's doorbell as she and Freya stood on her doorstep for the girl's night which included watching TV and talking about anything and everything till day break.

"Hi! So glad you made it." Lin grinned at them after opening the door.

"Whoa! I love your dress, and that top, it's hot!" She praised Freya's dress and Gwen's top as they stepped into the house.

"Thanks!" Gwen beamed because she liked to be noticed and marvelled at the attention.

"Thanks for your compliments Lin, Luke warned me to prepare for them because they make you very likeable. He says that he'll get jealous if I like you more than him." Freya said playfully.

Lin laughed before replying, "How silly of Luke, of course you will like me more than him. He'll just have to get over his jealousy." That made Freya and Gwen also laugh.

"He won't like the sound of that."

She linked both her arms into each of Freya and Gwen's and pulled them to the living room.

"Everyone's in the living room."

"Freya and Gwen are here." Lin announced letting go of their arms and going to sit on the floor in front of the turned off TV.

All the girls that attend the town's party were there; Rose, Nina and Percy. Freya and Gwen greeted them and both sat down on the two seater couch while the rest sat on the three seater couch. Percy glared at Freya which surprised her because she thought Percy would at least be grateful she cleared her mom's name.

"What do you want to watch?"
