Jack teased me all the way to the car and somehow left Eunice out as if she wasn't with me. I frowned at the realisation and frowned deeper when I realised again that when he isn't teasing me,he's chatting happily with Eunice and the pair seemed like old friends ,

Jacket wouldn't mess with Eunice

I repeated to myself each time he smiled at her

He drove us around showed us places,we knew some ,those that were important to us like a supermarket, the hospital,a cafe,a restaurant, a hotel and ladies parlour which I know none of us had visited yet

We went for an ice cream and Jack brought us back to my car

I got out of the car ,mumbled thanks under my breath when he said it

"They're getting married tomorrow, I'll pick you up"

I stopped ,I glanced at him once

His face solemn like he had just dropped a bomb

I laughed...an actual laugh this time

when it comes to Luke and Ari its always fake up till now

I stop to smile when Jack expression shows shock and amusement while Eunice's own is fear and alertness,probably thinking I'm crazy

"I'm happy for them",I cried out feeling every ounce of happiness almost like before the mess made me somehow immune to joy

Their face were looking funny but I ignored it and continued,"I'll be ready,..that means work is out of my way tomorrow"

"Alright see you tomorrow",with that Jack hugged Eunice and kissed her cheek and then he glanced in my direction and awkwardly waved

Ouch

And he left, just like that

Nevermind the awkward.

"Wow",Eunice's voice broke my gaze after the car

"Let's get inside"

I nodded and went in ahead

Why was I so flustered

I had made it obvious to him that I wanted no part in that but still I felt off kind of hurt

Maybe he liked Eunice,that's why they chatted so easily regardless of meeting a few days earlier

I looked at Eunice and she was entering her room

Jack wasn't like that ,he wouldn't use her but something was off

Sleep came easily and this time my nightmares weren't scary ,

Marco was laughing as he ran to Mom and hugged her then he turned towards me and smiled

I woke up and smiled, the first time I woke up without a grimace on my face but it didn't last long when I remember what day today was

One more day and it'll be exactly 3 years and I just knew for the first time after it happened ,I'll be OK

Ready an hour and half later ,I waited for Jack who would be arriving a few minutes from now

Eunice had left for work but she'll try to make it to the party

Jack horned,I walked out and locked the door

He had opened my door waiting for me to sit

His jaw dropped when I turned so I checked to see if I had overdone something

"You're beautiful",Jack said smiling

I sat down flustered, no one had such effect on me like that in a very long time,it sounded strange ,foreign perhaps

Luke did but that was before we broke up

We were on our way to his wedding now

I sighed

"Everything ok",Jack asked sounding concerned

I nodded

It could've been me today at the alter but I threw it away and wallowed in my guilt,I regret it but not the part letting Luke go which was absurd as I was sad I let him off but happy he's happy.

That reasonable enough

We're here,Jack opened my door and I stepped out ,

Luke's mother hugged me and then her son

She knew me back then,we were so happy then

It had to go back to that, I promised myself

"You're more beautiful each time I see you",Laura, Luke's Mom said as she looked me over

I was in a black floral dress,with a light makeup and black heels

My brown hair which matched my eyes were wavy and tumbled at my back

"Thank you,um...Mom", I said the last piece under my breadth but loud enough for her to hear, she wanted me to call her that when I was with her son but now I didn't know how to address her,

I looked up and she smiled

"Hey,I'm still your Mom and don't worry I'll always be",she smiled and looked to Jack who was hovering over protectively," maybe you don't get that one but this one maybe you will",with that she left leaving me confused at her words

Realisation dawns on me and I think it hits Jack too because we both jump apart and stare at each other

"That was weird",Jack said holding my hand

I nodded ,totally agreeing with him as we entered the church

I always loved it,it was great except moments when I wish it was still me

Jack held my hand throughout the ceremony and that kept me in check from letting other emotions strongly getting to me

He would squeeze my hand occasionally to let me know he's with me

Luke may be gone but his brother had obviously taken his place,

We were at the party now and the couple had been going round exchanging farewells

I didn't stay at one place even though Jack had wandered off so the couple didn't get the chance to speak with me

I looked at the dancing floor and my breath hitched, Eunice was here already....dancing with Jack

I don't know why it surprised me,

they liked each other

But it did and I turned to see Michael and Rachael coming up to me

I had been with them since high school and the twins were the direct opposite of each other

Rachael was bitchy and her twin cool but both were mischievous

"Hey,....you",Rachael said her tone telling me she remembered my name very well

"Chiara",Michael simply said

"Hey look if want that guy why don't you pry him off the black girl,I know I would",Rachael walked off with that

I looked at the newly weds and then at Eunice and Jack, she was smiling at something he'd said

Michael was still looking at me when I turned

"You like him?",he asked ,a little smirk playing at his lips

"What??",I cried out

"Do you like him",he said again

Now how do I answer that but before I do

"Like who???"
