Chapter 7

[Song recommended: Sia - Unstoppable]

"Aw, darling. You look pretty, did Layla help you get ready today. I must say, she did a wonderful job." Maria said in admiration while the little girl gulped on nervousness and guilt.

"Erm yeah, she really did." Chelsea lied straight in her face and wanted to cut her tongue for it.

Oh goodness, this is torture. She would definitely be starving herself as atonement for her sins.

Although that would be nearly impossible with the aroma of the food constantly invading her nostrils.

"Well anyway, I'm cooking pancakes, strawberry cupcakes and peppered bacon for breakfast." Maria said as she turned her attention back to the pancake she was frying.

Okay, there was no way Chelsea was missing breakfast today. The little girl drooled as she stared longingly at the meat in the oven.

"Stop drooling and go help me set up the table!" Maria chided Chelsea playfully as she giggled at the girl who wiped her mouth, unstuck herself from the oven and hurriedly picked up some plates, scarrying of to the dinning table.

Chelsea carefully and gleefully arranged the plates, napkins, cups, saucers and cutlery on the table.

As soon as she placed the jug filled with orange juice on the table, Maria came out of the kitchen with a huge tray filled with maple syrup, thin sliced bacon, a tower of pancakes and ofcourse, a platter delicious looking strawberry cupcakes.

"I smell something delicious, who's cooking!" Sam yelled running towards the dinning table.

Chelsea and Maria stared at his as though he had a sign stating 'I'm going crazy' pasted on his forehead.

"Sister! Sister, what's for breakfast?!" Travis yelled with enthusiasm as soon as he walked out of the corridor.

Chelsea smiled at the two supposed males in the house who were currently behaving like man-children, except Travis ofcourse.

"Okay everyone, please be seated!" Maria said comically imitating a chef and Chelsea giggled at the woman.

Breakfast went quietly and Sophie also joined them midway.

After breakfast was done Chelsea and Travis were busy packing their bag packs when they heard a knock on the door.

"Hello! Anyone home?!" A familiar voice rang out from the entrance door.

Maria rushed to the door as she already knew who it was at the door.

"Good morning, Mrs Smith." Maria greeted the middle aged woman who also happened to be Chelsea's History teacher.

"Morning, Mrs Zimmerman. Where are the kids?" Mrs Kelly Smith asked with a good natured smiled gazing into the house.

"Mrs Smith!" Chelsea yelled excitedly as she ran into her favourite teacher's arms.

The woman was a petite fair skinned brunette with a small face and beautiful green eyes. She was dressed in a black jumper and skinny jeans with an eyeglass at the bridge of her nose.

The woman adored Chelsea because the little girl was her brightest student and no one could imagine her excitement at the news that Chelsea would be resuming school.

"Aw, my darling. How have you been?" The woman asked still straddling the girl in a huge hug.

"I've been fantastic. Travis, come say hi to Mrs Smith!" Cecilia ordered the little boy who immediately jumped out of his seat and ran towards them.

"Hello, Mrs Smith." Travis greeted with a huge grin on his face and the woman immediately pulled him into her embrace.

"Okay darlings, I've packed your lunch in this bag. Travis's medicines are in the bag as well, so make sure he takes it after his lunch." Layla said handing the box over to Chelsea who accepted it with a smile.

"Okay babies, have a good day!" Maria called out as the siblings exited the house with Mrs Smith.

Five minutes later.

The three had successfully arrived in school. Chelsea took Travis to his school before heading to hers.

On her way to her class, Chelsea came across one of her 'friends'.

"Chelsea!!!" The short brunette girl yelled wrapping her arms around Chelsea.

"Erm, hi Anne." Chelsea greeted the girl awkwardly and the girl retracted her hand to look at her. Since when did she become friends with this sly vixen.

Annette Theodora Roosevelt, the sweet girl bully of Winston Junior High and also the number culprit of Chelsea's miseries.

Although nobody had the balls to confront the girl because she had the backing of the in college, so everybody 'liked' her. Except Chelsea of course.

"Where have you been all these months. Oh, I'm sorry. I forgot your mother just died of recent." The girl spoke loud enough for everyone to hear feigning to concern.

And just when you think the girl's gotten nice, she shows off her pretentious nature just to humiliate others. But opening old wounds happened to be Chelsea's speciality.

"You heard right Anne and I also happened to hear about your family's business crisis. And I also heard your parents are about to get divorced and..." Chelsea said with an expressionless face and could go on and on for days if the girl hadn't stopped her.

"Erm, who's feed you all these lies?" The girl asked, a little shaken by Chelsea sharp retort. Chelsea noticed the maliciousness flash through her eyes.

"The same person who feed you information about me." Chelsea answered coldly before brushing past her, walking towards her classroom.

"Darn you bitch!" Anne wanted to yell out so bad but couldn't risk foiling her good girl demeanour so she decided to change her tactics.

"Chelsea, wait!" Anne called out running to catch up with Chelsea.

"Yes Anne, any problems?" Chelsea said with a smile as though she hadn't done anything wrong to Anne.

"I think there's a misunderstanding here. I didn't mean to hurt you and your words were too hurtful even if they were evidently untrue." Anne said trying to play the peace maker card.

Chelsea simply smiled and said,"Whether it's true or untrue, only you and I know the truth."

After speaking Chelsea was about to walk out on Anne who was rooted to the place she stood, seething in rage.

She grabbed Chelsea's arm violently, at least for Chelsea, pulling an aggrieved look making the onlookers look at her in pity.

Just like that, Chelsea who was the bullied became the bully. Chelsea winched in pain as Anne dug her nails into her skin.

"Chelsea, I thought we were friends. How could you do this to me?!" Anne said as she forced out a few teardrops.

"I don't ever remember myself befriending you, Miss Annette. And besides that, it would be a one sided friendship since you have nothing to give me in return." Chelsea said like an Economist weighing the profits and losses of accepting her friendship invite.
