1.0 Erza vs Kali

In the middle of the crowd, there stood two female wizards (monsters). The crowd was filled with excitement from what Levy said, the fight between Kali and Erza was going to be amazing, but also dangerous.

"Levy, could you repeat that again? I don't think I heard you correct." Kali said in disbelief.

"Sure!" the short girl with blue hair replied. "You and Erza will be fighting."

Kali turned to Erza. "When did I agree to this? Moreover, why do you want to fight me?"

"You did promise that if I fought Natsu seriously, you would fight me seriously." Erza replied. "I want to fight you because I want to see how strong you truly are."

"But haven't you seen how strong I am during those spars we used to have?"

"The ones that you never took seriously?" Erza mocked with a raised eyebrow. "Sure."

Kali was left speechless, she had nothing else to say. Even if she tried to convince Erza, it would be useless since once Erza was set on something, she would go all the way with no regrets. Such amazing perseverance.

"Alright, fine." Kali said. "However, I want you all to set up a barrier, and you all must stand outside of the barrier. It's going to be very dangerous if you stand inside."

Without any complaints, the wizards of Fairy Tail quickly set up a strong barrier that has been tested multiple times. It was said that the barrier could withstand Natsu and Gray's strongest combined attacks. Therefore, people wouldn't have to worry.

"Erza, just like the old times?"

"Just like the old times."

As Erza pulled out her sword that she always used, Kali pulled out her own. Kali's katana had a curved blade and tints of the color red on it.

"It's been a while since I've used my katana, hopefully it won't break." Kali said with a chuckle.

"A sword against a katana, this is interesting." Macao said as he stroked his chin.

"Why is that?" Lucy asked.

"A sword is designed for the user to use their power to chop things while a katana is designed for the user to be able to cut things easily while using less power. Although the katana is more sharp, the sword is more durable."

"Then don't they somewhat cancel each other out?"

"Hmm, I guess you can say that." Macao said. "Now, let's pay attention. The fight is about to start."

Kali took a casual stance, she held the katana to her side. It was as if she wasn't even planning to fight and had given up. But that was what those who haven't seen Kali fight would think.

Erza knew of this too, she got into her most comfortable stance that also had no weaknesses. She scanned Kali's stance and analyzed what she saw. Although Kali was full of openings, she also had no openings.

Kali pointed her blade at Erza, "Are you ready?"

Erza replied with a smirk. "Since I was born."

Even the people outside of the barrier could feel the immense pressure that was being emitted.

Erza smiled as she bolted towards Kali. The crowd swore they saw a red streak behind Erza.

*CLANG*

Erza's blade clashed against Kali's.

*BOOM*

Behind Kali, the road was blown into pieces. Erza's attack had left a trail of dirt behind Kali, however, Kali didn't move an inch from where she was standing.

Before Kali could swing her blade, Erza used the momentum she got from her blade clashing against Kali's and jumped back.

There were faces of awe in the crowd as well as amazement.

"Your instincts are amazing Erza, you've improved a lot. Your intuition itself makes me shiver."

"Now is not the time for flattery, prepare yourself."

Just before Erza was about to charge at Kali, Kali was suddenly in front of her.

"So fast!"

Erza mentally agreed with whoever said it, she quickly put her sword up to block the blade. However, it never came.

Suddenly, she felt a quick sharp pain in her stomach, and was blasted backwards. Erza groaned as she felt her back crash into the barrier.

"You focus your attention too much on my blade Erza, that leaves you blind to every other attack that I send."

"Tsk, I thought we were only using our blades." Erza said as she got up. Behind her, there was a crack in the barrier which made the people move away from that area.

"There are no rules in a fight, this was your own mistake. Now come at me Erza, with everything you've got."

Erza's face became serious as the pressure in the air was once again lifted.

"You asked for it."

Kali was amazed at Erza's lightning speed, she didn't expect Erza to be this quick without her Flight Armor. A thought came to Kali, perhaps Erza was holding back during the fight with Erigor? It was possible.

Kali had to redirect her attention to Erza and remove the thoughts in her head to avoid being cut by Kali. She did not want to experience the pain again.

With a quick diagonal slice, Kali had blocked Erza's attack that the crowd wasn't even able to see.

'Faster, faster, become even faster Erza!' Kali shouted in her mind as a grin appeared on her face.

As if Kali spoke her thoughts into existence, Erza was becoming faster by each second. Every time their blades clashed, streaks of sparks would appear.

The crowd couldn't believe what they were seeing even though they couldn't see. Although they could see Erza and Kali, they couldn't track their movements.

Moreover, the pressure that they were emitting was starting to make cracks appear on the barrier.

"Are you sure we're safe?"

"I don't know, I'm just praying the fight will end before the barrier breaks."

"Oh…"

Erza's eyes blazed with fire, her will to defeat Kali never wavered even if her attacks weren't getting through. She could feel herself improving by every second, she was moving quicker, she was lighter, and the attacks she dealt were heavier.

Was this because she was fighting someone far stronger than her? Perhaps.

"Would you look at that," Mira said, amazed. "They're dancing."

"Dancing?" Lucy questioned.

Mira nodded her head. "They're both using the least movement possible, but each was precise. If it weren't for the fact that they were wizards, they could probably have been ballet dancers considering how in sync they are with each other."

"I see…wait, you can track them?"

"I can, but just barely."

"Wow, I'm surprised you can even see them. I only see them because of Erza's scarlet hair and Kali's pastel hair."

"Fufu, I am a S-Rank Wizard after all."

"Eh?"

"But that's a story for another time."

*CLANG*

Everyone's eyes focused towards the middle.

Erza was hovering over Kali with her sword pressed against Kali's katana. Both of them weren't moving, it was now a battle of pure strength.

Although Kali wasn't wavering at all, she was starting to sink into the ground.

"Erza, for a girl, you're really strong."

"I could say the same thing to you."

"Oi, flame head, do you really think you can come close to beating Kali after seeing this?" Gray questioned.

Natsu frowned. "No, but I'll eat more flames to become stronger!"

Gray didn't continue any further, he wanted to analyze the scene in front of him. He knew Erza was incredibly strong, after all, she was also someone with the most amazing feats as well.

But there was Kali, someone far stronger than anyone he's seen, someone who's able to compete with Erza's full strength while holding a smile.

Gray chuckled to himself. "Sometimes, I can't tell if she's a woman or a monster. Perhaps both?"

Kali scanned the barrier with her eyes and noticed something.

"Erza, it's about time we end this, the barrier won't hold any longer."

"Then shall we?"

Kali nodded.

In a split second, they both disappeared, and reappeared twelve nine feet away from each other. They both held the same stance.

"Look!"

"What are they doing?"

"They're going to end it off with one final attack. Whoevers attack is stronger will be the winner." Makarov said.

"I see….EH?! Master Makarov?!"

"Shh, watch them."

Makarov couldn't help but look at the scene and sigh, but he was also filled with happiness, and perhaps excitement too.

"These younglings, I hope they don't blow the whole city away."
