Fairune!

The new VRMMORPG Fairune! was lauded as the next best game to hit the shelves, it would be a kind of second world for people. It was pushed as a world without limits, where you could be whoever you wanted. Liam is about to embark on his own adventure in the new world, fighting monsters and finishing quests all with the hope of being the greatest swordsman in the game. Follow Liam as he grows from a novice VRMMORPG player to someone renowned throughout the world. This is my first time writing anything so it will probably be poor at first but I will try to improve as I write the chapters. Enjoy

Back to questing

After Liam logged out and removed the headset, he stay in place for a few moments to get back his bearings before getting up and going down stairs. He look at the time and seeing that it was late afternoon he realised his parents will be back from work soon

Liam made his way to the kitchen and looked in the freezer to see what to make for dinner. He found a bag of oven chips and sausages so decided to make those for dinner. Since he was aware his parents were on their way back he decided to make something for them too. It was the least he could do as he was living there for free waiting for university to start up.

Liam managed to get himself into a computer programming course thanks to his grades in secondary school. Thanks to this he got himself into one of the best universities in the city, pleasing his parents to no end. Their hope was that he could make something of himself.

"We're home" It was about half an hour later when Liam heard his mum shout through.

"I'm in the kitchen finishing up dinner" Liam turned to the door and shouted back.

It was a couple seconds later that Liam saw a slightly plump woman in her 50's walk through the door followed by a tall, thin man also in his 50's. These were his parents Jenny and Simon.

"What's on the menu today Liam?" His father ask. He was roughly 6 feet tall with greying hair and a wrinkled face showing his age.

"Slightly basic dad. Sausages and chips"

Liam had finished setting everything up in moments and they all sat down to eat.

"So did you manage to get that game you were saving for? How is it?"

"I got it mum. And to be honest I might not be off it right now if I didn't feel tired after a big boss fight" Liam's already knew he was saving up for the game, even they have seen the adverts. His father especially since he works in the advertisement industry, he has work on a few adverts for the game himself in fact.

"Good. I hope you don't forget to stop playing where you go to uni though Liam. Make sure to play in moderation"

"I know mum, don't worry"

The family of 3 continued chatting for another 30 minutes before his parents went a settled in the living room and watch television to relax. Liam made his way back up the stairs, finished any business he needed with the bathroom before going back to his room to play again.

"It's 5.30pm now so I guess I'll play till 10-11 o'clock before hitting the sack"

Liam settled on his bed put the headset back on and logged into the game world again.

[Welcome back to Fairune!]

As Liam opened his eyes he found himself in the same spot he logged out from.

Before doing anything he place his newly gained free points evenly into vitality, strength and agility. Afterwards he checked stats.

Liam was happy with his new stats a level, but he wasn't about to go find another boss anytime soon just for the easy experience points.

Once everything was settled Liam set off for the forest again to finish off his herb collecting quest which seems to keep getting side tracked. As of this moment he was still 6/20 done so there was a little way to go.

Liam could see the tall trees of the forest before him and hoped to be done quickly as it will be getting dark in the game world soon. As it currently stands the game time and real world time are in sync with each other. The develops were looking to implement a time dilation feature later on once players have gotten used to how the game works.

It was also mentioned that they may also put in place a playing limit to quell addiction, however these are for the future.

Right now Liam was walking through the forest with his forage skill in use and managed to bag 3 of the herbs in quick succession before he saw another plant that made his forage skill alert him.

It was rather small, with 2 purple petals sprouting on either side of the stem making them look like wings. It like sway in the breeze giving off a refreshing scent, calming whoever came close.

Liam walked towards the herb a carefully picked before checking what the item was.

[Fairy Wings Flower - A flower that grows upon the fallen wings of a fairy after they are shed upon the end of their life. It helps with healing small wounds and can be used to make higher level healing potions]

Fairies were beings that usually lived in the forests or areas abundant with flowers. They were a mischievous race and liked to play pranks on travellers they come across, however they were also adept at using nature to help heal and were classed as good omens by the natives if they ever saw one.

Liam didn't know the lore of the race but knew the plant would be useful as healing potions are rather hard to get due to prices.

With the plant put away Liam carried on looking for more Five Star Grass to get his quest done.
