Chapter 27: Forestry Service
Sol, Cass, and Felicity rummaged through the terrain of the forest looking for the small bits of ingredients they needed for Cass's alchemy. Sol had difficulty understanding exactly what it was Cass did, from his abstract descriptions. Somehow he had the ability to fuse and change the properties of things.
Right now, they were looking for the ingredients they needed to ward off their families' houses. Everybody, even Pat after he woke up, saw the need to protect their families first. Cass had already made their houses "pest repellent," with what he called "simple" ward. Now they were moving on to cars, offices and vehicles of their loved ones.
"Pat's gonna wanna go on the offensive when we're done with this," Cass said unexpectedly. "I have a few ideas about how we might go about it," Cass said as he was looking for a particular kind of stone. Apparently the magic worked based on the properties the alchemist perceived his ingredients to have, which Sol found very peculiar.
