It turns out I've been deceiving myself all along. Aiden finished his project while I was busy assuming, he was the unserious one.
"You're done with it? Why didn't you tell me? We're partners. We're supposed to do it together, you dumbo." I said, coals of anger burning in my veins.
He looks at me, unfazed by my anger. "Can you calm down? It was a spur-of-the-moment kind of thing. I couldn't sleep, so I finished it."
"Were you planning to tell me?" I asked a bit hurt.
"Of course. I wanted to show everything to you tomorrow at school." He said. "Don't be mad. I swear, I didn't want to do anything that would hurt you. I couldn't sleep, and I finished most assignments, and I thought I should do that too. I love spending time with you. So doing it wasn't that hard. I'll help you with yours too."
His face does look sincere, almost melting all my anger away. I guess I can't be mad at him for doing his project. It's worth 50% of his grade,
