Fading Horizons

In a world ravaged by a mysterious, natural disaster, clouds pass over the Earth, transforming everything they touch into a bleak, black-and-white wasteland. Anyone caught in this monochrome zone vanishes, disintegrating into bluish-silver dust. Humanity becomes chaotic as the sky darkens and the clouds approach without warning. Amidst this disaster, a young girl must fight to survive and protect her loved ones. Racing against time, she struggles to outrun the clouds and keep her family and friends from disappearing into nothingness. With every passing moment, the world around her becomes less recognizable, and the only certainty is the ever-present threat of the vanishing point.

Alex kept wondering how much people said the news from yesterday and night and believed it. They got to school Alex and Layla ran to class to hand in their assignments. After that, Layla ran towards one of her classmate named Ed, "Ed, did you see the news yesterday?" Ed quietly nod her head she looked pale recalling the event from yesterday. The whole school's fun seemed to have died down like energy has been drawn from them.

During break, at the cafeteria, news started to play; it was live. The supposed event of yesterday was happening again across the far-end side of the city, people vanishing and clouds and fog trailing behind the barren wasteland it brought with it. An official name was also made up for the act; it was now called "The Vanishing." Everyone in the cafeteria looked scared, then a sudden scream from the huge TV scream was heard. Everyone ran away from Hujiang City. The clouds are approaching slowly, said the reporter, as she just received some news through the earpiece in her ear. She then tried to run, but suddenly she fell to the ground and started convulsing and spitting blood, and she began to vanish. Her last words were, "It's already in Hujiang City.". A heavy wind that blew over the building destroyed it, all caught on camera. The camera was also so blown and smashed to the ground, which marked the end of the news broadcast.

Everyone had puzzled faces looking at each other; their faces could only say one thing: "Run.". Screams echoed through the wall of the cafeteria as many were having panic attacks and others were losing, and then people started to make a run for the door.
