Here forever
Never in all the years she had spent with Rose had she seen this vulnerability and pleading look on her face . Rose was a confident , self-righteous and a carefree person. She even in worse conditions knew how to keep her calm and handle the situation without panicking . She was never the one to feel defeated until the last breath. But this vulnerable, perplexed Rose was something new to Amelia .
This caused Amelia to snap her mouth shut . Even though she was hurt and angry on Rose for all these years , had always waited for this day to confront her and ask her all the reason behind it but even she knew in the bottom of her heart there was a voice calling out to her that Rose would surely have valid reasons. She always chose to ignore that voice , tried to supress it too but today she knew that what the voice said was true. Looking at her she decided on her better judgement and instead asked " How have you been Roe ?".
Just as the words left her mouth Rose's face visibly relaxed and then her mouth upturned into a small giggle . Amelia realised the irony of situation that how she had open fired at Rose just a few seconds ago on the same question and started laughing with her . It had been a since they had laughed together like this .
" I'm all good Mels . What about you ?"
" Oh !!! I had been doing fine till now, but .." Rose's eyes widened a bit .She thought that Amelia really despiced her and seeing her again made her feel sad . Seeing her troubled face Amelia smirked and continued "... now I feel like I'm doing just awesome. " Rose relaxed and then turned a light shade of pink while Amelia laughed at her expense .
"Oh Rosey Rose !! You are still so easy to tease . And your nose ,Oh god !!! It still turns red just by a mere attention or teasing . " She continued laughing
Rose scowled at her friend but couldn't fight the smile that crept up her face. Amelia was still laughing when she felt a tug at her dress . She turned to see a small girl in pigtails and a yellow dress looking at her .
She bent down a bit and asked " Yes deary !! How may I help you ?"
"Oh Aunty!! can you please lower down your volume . You have been laughing like a hyena and my coco is not able to sleep 'cause of that " she said motioning towards the small stuff toy panda in her hands .
Now it was Rose's turn to laugh . She clutched her stomach rolling on the seat trying to gain composition. Amelia after the initial shock glared at Rose and turned to the girl to say something when she was beaten to it by Rose , " Yeah sure deary . I'll ensure to keep her under control after this . Don't worry and rush back to your seat " she ushered the girl back quickly .
Amelia glared at Rose who was trying to stifle her laughter " hyena ... Seriously a hyena ?? What a wild imagination children have these days !!! .." Amelia retorted while shaking her head and throwing her hands up dramatically. It took Rose's immense will power to calm down her composure before she was at the recieving end of Amelia 's wrath which was literally like signing a death sentence.
Soon after requesting a chocolate oreo cream shake for Rose and a strawberry Shortcake for herself Amelia sat down determined to spend all the flight catching up with Rose .They chatted continuosly while bickering occasionally, Laughing and tearing down on old memories . They never knew when the time flew by .They were exhausted and slept for the rest of the fight . The plane was landing now .
After sending a quick message to her family and checking out her luggage , Rose met Amelia at the front entrance as decided . They hopped into a cab .
" The Coleridge Medical College please " both spoke up together.
They whipped their heads towards each other .Amelia couldn't believe Rose remembered their promise .They for sure had discussed that they were here for further studies but never minded asking the college.Rose remembered for sure , How could she forget her promise to her birthday twin .Both had dreamt of becoming doctors and had the same dream college. So back then the two 15 year old teenagers had promised to work hard so that both could go to this college together .
Tears of happiness brimmed their eyes as they hugged each other crying .The driver looked perplexed and confused by their behaviour. A minute ago they were a bubble of happiness nad now the two girls were crying out their eyes . Weird teenagers he thought driving them to their location .
So, many procedures and offices later the two finally dragged their luggage to their dorm rooms . Amelia was on the second floor while Rose had to climb all the way upto the fourth . The lift decided to rest for today and the ramp up on the third floor had to be cleaned at that moment itself too .'So much for a warm welcome' huffed a tired Rose as she made it to her room finally.
The room was large with a lot of moving space. The walls supported a warm turquoise colour while there were two double decker beds , the lower part rebuilt to form white cupboards. There was a large white rectangular table in the centre with support cables for laptops .Peeping into the adjoined bathroom she found a large wall sized mirror along with a wonderful shower with which she instantly fell in love with . It also had some plants in small white porcelain pots to make it all the more calming .She loved her room .
After freshening up and unpacking her things she skipped down two levels knocking on Amelia's door. Her room was similar to Rose's just the colour being a soothing vintage green( if that's even a colour ). Both had yet to meet their roommates.Amelia's had arrived but wasn't in the room while Rose's had yet to come .
As decided they hopped to the main buliding to discover the college more closely while going to the office to get their schedules for tomorrow. After fighting the urge to strangle the lady sitting behind the bench they finally got their schedules.
" That weirdo behind the bench ,was she trying to piss us off purposely or do such species genuinely exist in this world ?" mused Amelia loudly.
"I don't know how she was never getting the memo even after the fifth time that you are Amelia Locksworth and not Amelia Jane . And who takes this long to give out schedules? I swear the line was moving at no more than 2m/hr . But it was still faster than your brain. Gotta give credit for that. " Rose teased nudging her by her elbow and ran before she could get caught in the clutches of the devil herself.
They then decided to try the cafe they discovered just now at the end of the lane .'The Lover's bay ' it stated as they entered the cafe. It was bustling with life and the sweet aroma of coffee filled their senses. They both shared the same love for coffee as the many other things .They were sure that they are sisters from different misters.
After ordering their regular coffee with cream they decided to settle down. The cafe had many couches and less of tables , it also had this mini library with bean bags where you could settle down to read a book with your coffee in hand. The environment was so warm and homey that they instantly knew it was going to be their hang out place or their go to place as they liked to call it .
Glancing around to find seats in the bustling area , Rose pointed to a couch which seemed to be the only place where they could settle down in peace and gulp down their coffee while having a little chat ," Look Mels . Let's sit there " . Amelia glanced over to see a couch with place for two and a boy engrossed in a book .
She couldn't help but ogle at the boy , he was lean but well built , with dark brown hair sitting in a plain black shirt and white ripped jeans ,he just seemed to make the simple combination fit for a model . Rose caught her staring and a wicked smile deemed her face as she shouldered Amelia to break her out of her trance .
"Someone's having crush on the very first day of landing in Calgary . Huhh?? " She wiggled her eyebrows. Amelia's face flushed which made Rose laugh at her 'cause it was rare to bring out such emotion from her bold friend .
So she pushed her to the couch and they both settled down to chat some more while enjoying their coffee .
