Chapter 7: Primordial Chaos

After tossing the foundational esoteric spiritual art to the side, Sorin searched into his memories.

Sorin knew only a few esoteric spiritual arts that were good enough to pursue the true path. Before he had become a demonic figure in the future, he had roamed the world, experiencing countless things. He had seen many enemies with unique powers and strange abilities.

Most Spirit Masters have a fundamental understanding of the true path, but only few can truly grasp it. Only when one finds out about verities could they really start their journey, otherwise, you'll be nothing more than a small ignorant figure. Once you left this part of the world and explore the true vast secrets of this realm, you'll realise how insignificant you really were.

Recollecting his memories, Sorin had found what he was looking for. In his past life, he had used this to practically rebirth and rise like a phoenix, soaring to the heavens.

This esoteric spiritual art was named: Primordial Chaos God Sutra. Such a domineering name can already hint at how powerful it really was.

Moreover, the creator of this art had engraved his own comprehensions of the verity of Primordial Chaos — a supreme verity!

Primordial Chaos existed before all else.

When the very concept of existence still haven't been formed, only Oblivion and Primordial Chaos existed. These two concepts conflicted with eachother. Oblivion was 0 and Primordial Chaos was 1.

Due to both being equal, they had eventually created other concepts like space and time. With space and time came the universe. With the universe came a myriad of other rules or principles such as life and death, elements, emotions and much more.

If one truly comprehended such a verity to completion, destroying the universe by just turning your hand was likely very possible.

Of course, Sorin hadn't reached that level and neither had the creator of this art.

Yet to such a verity, even a fraction of comprehension would be enough to destroy an average star.

Sorin sat on his bed in a lotus position. Taking a deep breath, Sorin went into his sea of consciousness. In this world of black, Sorin began revolving the Primordial Chaos God Sutra.

This art was special in that it doesn't use spiritual energy to temper the body, but primal energy instead!

As Sorin was using this esoteric spiritual art at the beginning of his journey, his foundations as a Spirit Master would be extremely good. In his past life, he couldn't exactly restart his cultivation, thus he had only managed to fuse the comprehensions of Primordial Chaos with his spiritual core of abyssal energy. He had comprehended the verity of abyss in his past life.

But that wasn't his greatest achievement. Through his own understandings of the true path and his unique mind as a transmigrator, it was actually him fusing the two energies together.

It was a heaven defying act.

Sorin had made his own esoteric spiritual art: Divine Balance — the ability to harmonise two verities together!

As Sorin was revolving his esoteric spiritual art, he managed to detect some red light particles within his sea of consciousness.

They were like tiny threads flowing towards the centre of his sea of consciousness.

Sorin knew that this was primal energy.

Primal energy was predominantly only used by Spirit Beasts, allowing them to have formidable bodies. However, primal energy is extremely tyranical and overbearing.

Primal energy is actually the purest form of spiritual energy. Before Heaven and Earth was created, primal energy had always existed in this world. Once Heaven and Earth was born, they began to purify it to spiritual energy, making the world less chaotic and allowing life to be born.

Since Sorin wanted to learn the essence of Primordial Chaos, of course he would be using the most pure and chaotic energy of this world. Primal energy was hard to control, but this art was no joke. Even with his terrible talent, his absorption speed should rival and exceed that of most genius disciples.

That was simply the difference in grades of esoteric spiritual arts.

Feeling the red strands of primal energy, Sorin began manipulating it to his arms.

The moment the energy flowed to his arms, Sorin quickly felt all of his blood flow in reverse — the sensation of skin melting because of the tyranical energy. However, Sorin had a resolute expression, merely gritting his teeth slightly.

Such an effect were countless times better than tempering with spiritual energy, but it is definitely much more painful.

After 14 hours of this process, Sorin had eventually reached the first level of Outer Assimilation. He also felt that the elixir in his body had been completely digested through the use of the Primordial Chaos God Sutra.

Reopening his eyes, Sorin mumbled as he clenched his fist, feeling the sharp rise in his strength.

"My talent is truly horrible. Despite such a godly art, it took me 14 hours to reach the first level of the Assimilation realm..."

If the other disciples were to hear Sorin's words at this moment, they would surely slap him to death.

Slow?!

This was an unprecedented speed!

On average, most talented disciples with enough resources to cultivate comfortably would need at least 2 weeks of constant tempering with spiritual energy to reach the first level, yet in just 14 hours, this boy had already done that!

The elixir would lose its effects after 3 days, so disciples would constantly have to buy more.

Of course, Sorin knew that this speed was good. However, in his past life where he plundered countless treasures, he would have reached this level in an hour.

A person's talent was determined by their natural affinity with spiritual energy. A Spirit Masters talent was divided into grades: from 1 to 12. Within Soaring Phoenix Academy, you will mostly find only disciples with 1-3 grades. The geniuses may have 4, and the monsters may even have 5. As for 6 and above, Soaring Phoenix Academy was simply too small for them to exist and be nurtured.

Sorin's talent was only a grade 2 at this moment.

Reaching the first level, Sorin could feel that his arms were much stronger, all his muscles within his arms had been strengthened by primal energy.

At Outer Assimilation, you had to temper your entire 'outer' body. The first level was the arms, the second was the torso, the third was the legs and the fourth was the head. Once you've tempered all of them, you can move onto Inner Assimilation which is your veins, organs etc.

Lifting himself up, Sorin took a stance as he shot his fist out in front of him. The sound of wind breaking could be heard as a torrent of air blasted out, smashing against the wall of his room.

Seeing such a sharp rise in strength, Sorin spoke with a hint of shock, "This power is quite impressive. At the first level, my strength is already equal to people at the second level. The force from my fists that can be exerted is at least 750kg!"

Moreover, this wasn't even his strongest attack as he wasn't using spiritual energy. Although it was slightly less effective, he had used the elixir to attract primal energy as they were somewhat similar.

The body usually rejects primal energy thus people only absorbed spiritual energy to temper and store it in the body, but with the Primordial Chaos God Sutra, he could use it to manipulate primal energy partially and temper his body with it. If he kept with this practise, he would essentially have the toughness of spirit beasts while also having the unique abilities of Spirit Masters!

Seeing his other elixir, Sorin smiled. The reason why he bought two of them was because of this trait of primal energy. Although he used it to temper his body, he couldn't make the energy his own. However, his body was already at the first level of Outer Assimilation.

With this second elixir, he's going to be attracting and storing spiritual energy within his body. Moreover, he would be able to hide his strength. All he had to do was store in spiritual energy enough to show that he was close to reaching the first level.

Drinking the second spiritual assimilation elixir, Sorin simply began slowly storing the spiritual energy into his body.

With his cultivation, Sorin hadn't even realised that 2 days had quickly passed.

Reopening his eyes, Sorin felt extremely sluggish.

"I forgot that being a mortal once again required me to constantly eat food to sustain myself." Sorin sighed.

In two days, he could feel that he had digested the elixir and stored enough spiritual energy. He had used another esoteric spiritual art to do this. As the grade was much higher than the foundational esoteric spiritual art, he digested the potion quickly before it began to lose its effects.

With the foundational esoteric spiritual arts, only getting half of the efficiency of the elixir would be good, but Sorin digested it all.

Standing back up, Sorin went to get his free food. After eating it, Sorin paid the owner one more astral token to stay there for another 4 days. After doing that, he went out into the city.

The one thing all disciples needed in this city was astral tokens.

Sorin also needed astral tokens if he wanted to get resources to speed up his cultivation.
