I stared at him in complete shock. What is this boy talking about?
Evan didn't say anything for a moment, then laughed out loud. "Jeez, Annie. Don't look so horrified. I was just joking?"
I still stared at him like I didn't understand what he was saying. "You were joking?"
"Yes, I was joking. I won't just move in with you! That's crazy. Besides, I don't think boys and girls are allowed to cohabitate in these apartments," Evan said.
"Oh yeah, that's true," I murmured. "Where will you live then?"
"I'll ask the college to move me in with a different roommate, that's all. So don't worry about it, I'll handle it," Evan said and smiled reassuringly.
Tears streamed down my face. He had to go through all that because of me. So not only did I hurt James, I was hurting Evan too.
"I can't believe I put you in this position. If I had been clear about my feelings from the beginning, things would've been a lot better," I said.
