Chapter 1: Lord Arthur

Los Baños, Laguna 2055

Markus' POV

it's been a few years since we left Umahon City to live in Laguna, Curl said it's because of work, but I don't exactly know what his work is, I just know it's some kind of armed organization, I saw him in a military attire once I didn't remember what the logo looks like but it was a red spike of some sort.

Curl and I was driving coming from my graduation.

"Congratulations! Engineer! can't believe it you're number one in all honors" Curl said

"Thanks, I kind of think I don't deserve this but thank you anyway" I said

"What? noooo, you worked hard! I always believed you were special, you kinda remind me of an old mentor I have back in my younger days, he's also an Engineer once, he was my teacher back in the day, he's smart, brave and heroic just like you" Curl said with a warm smile.

"Heroic? me?" I asked

"You know? don't pretend dumb I know why you kept running out of money and I know you're doing volunteering work and despite your busy schedule you're still working just to donate" Curl said.

"Umh? I don't think that's heroic, I don't wield sword and I don't fight alien cyborgs like the Titan Knights duh?" I said and we both laugh.

"Hahah kid, being a hero doesn't mean you need to fight the dark lord, or have a superpower, I know I've said this well enough, but I knew the people that fought along side the titans back when I was in the military my Mentor was one of them, he used to be a teacher but during the war he was a warrior, he would often say that"

"Every kind of help when it comes to saving people big or small are heroic deeds" I said, I knew he was gonna say that he always does

"Yeah that" Curl said

as we were both laughing an explosion on the road infront of us happened one of the cars infront of us exploded, Curl stepped on the break and reached for something in his pocket.

I looked at the exploded car and I saw a silhouette of a man with a sword emerging from it.

"fuck!" Curl said he turned the car around and started driving on the opposite way, running away from the man with a sword but a few moment has passed the man with the sword fell into the hood of our car he looked like human but his eyes were black and red.

"Nice to see you again, Aveno" the man said to my brother.

Curl then pressed a button under his seat that ejected me from the car, as I landed in the road a forcefield came out of the seat I was in.

the car exploded with Curl in it.

"Curl!!!! NOOO!" I shouted as tears started falling from my eyes.

but as the smoke clears I can see and hear 2 person fighting.

Curl was wearing some kind of armor, he was wielding a sword and fighting the guy.

"You really are like him, a hero, but you saw how it ended for him, he died" the man said to him.

"DON'T YOU DARE INSULT MY BROTHER!" Curl shouted,

Is he talking about Leonel? I said in my mind.

Curl then used his sword to charge flames started to emerge from his sword.

"What do you want! you fucking mist!" Curl said

"I'm here to kill your brother, We can't let anyone wield that sword again" the man said

"DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH MY BROTHER" Curl said.

Curl's body started to be covered in flames but the man with the sword just looked at him.

"Enough with the games" He said

"I'll kill you Mordred!" Curl shouted as he charged at the man.

fire covered the entire area while I was being protected by the force field.

I stared at their place worried if Curl is okay.

the fire started to clear, Curl was laying in the ground looking at me still smiling

he was saying something, I couldn't hear it, but I could read the movement of his mouth

"I love you, Please save everyone, I love you very much" he said.

he was still smiling just like he always does

the man impaled Curl with a sword and killed him.

"NOOOO CUURL!" I shouted at the top of my lungs.

The forcefield disappeared, and he was coming for me.

"It's futile that I have to kill you before you become a king, don't worry I'll do it quickly" he said

I was frozen, scared of my life and sad about Curl's death.

I couldn't do anything but watch him as he charge in-front of me with intent of killing me.

I closed my eyes and he said "Sorry about this kid"

but after a few seconds of my eyes closed, nothing happened and then I heard a bang.

"FUCK!" the man said, I opened my eyes and there I saw a man with a pony tail in-front of me.

"You killed my friend, it's your turn to die" the man with the pony tail said, he unsheathed his Katana and beat the crap out of the other man who killed Curl.

I ran towards Curl but it was to late he's dead.

"You fucking shit!" the man groans in pain as the other man with the katana beats him.

"YOU KILLED MY FRIEND" The man with the katana said, as he was preparing for a killing blow the other man used a watch like gadget and teleported away

"you're gonna pay for this Samurai" the man said before he disappeared.

"Fucking hell he got away, Noah secure the perimeter and bring a medic in here" The man with the Katana said in his earpiece.

The man slowly walks towards me as I hold Curl's lifeless body.

he kneeled in-front of Curl and lowered his head.

"I'm sorry I'm too late Curl" he said

"Why....who are you?" I said confused.

he then looked at me and said

"mists are coming after you, to kill you, Curl did his best to protect you, I'm Marwin Curl's friend, he died protecting you and if you don't want his death to be in vain you have to come with me" he said

a ship started to appear hovering down the air.

as it opens its hatch a man wearing a blue robe appear in-front of us.

"Where's Curl?" the man said

"He's dead, thanks to us being too slow and not seeing beforehand" Marwin said

"Thanks to you he's dead" The man in the robes said to Marwin

"You're welcome Noah" Marwin said

as they were arguing woman in a pink formal wear ran towards the lifeless body of Curl and cried.

"WHY DID HE HAVE TO DIE?!" the woman shouted in agony.

an hour later I was tended by a medic and the three was there standing arguing.

"Why did you two let this happen! we promised to protect everyone and that's including Curl! you both knew he's in danger and what did you do? you waited until he was attacked? and where were you Marwin? all this time when we needed you?" The woman said

"I'm sorry Amerie, I'm as devastated as you. he was my student, I brought this fight to him" Marwin said

"I'm glad you knew it's your fault, you left, we promised to protect everyone while we were working in strengthening our defenses against them where were you? I thought you were better" Noah said to Marwin.

Marwin just stared at him, with a blank, he couldn't make up words to say.

"I didn't wish for this to happen" Marwin said as he look away.

"You didn't want this to happen, but your actions brought this, I kept silence all this time, because you're my friend, I still consider you as my best friend, but what you did broke our hearts, the Government wanted you to fill a role and you declined for what? to chase something that isn't real, Reian is gone nothing will ever bring her back" Noah said

Marwin just stood there with a blank expression listening to them.

while listening to their arguments I found the courage to ask.

"WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON WHY DID CURL GOT KILLED" I shouted.

everyone looked at me with such despair, aside from Marwin who's still looking away from me.

"They're after you, Curl did his best to protect you" Amerie said

I looked at them with confusion and asked

"Why? why me?" I said as my voice cracks.

"Because you're special, you've been chosen to fill in a role, a role that will determine the sole survival of mankind" Noah said.

"who..are you..." I asked.

"Well, we're Curl's friend" Marwin said still looking away.

"You said I'm special how so? what special is there in me?" I asked

Noah stepped forward and said.

"Curl Trained you to wield sword when you were young right?"

"Yes.." I answered

"Because You've been chosen by the Will of Avalon to lead the Next Titan Knights" Amerie said

"What?" I said still confused

"Just bare with us, we'll explain it later" Noah said.

"Sorry what?" I said still confused

"I'm sorry about your loss" Marwin said still looking away

"Markus, We're sorry about Curl, we love him as much as you do, you are a little brother to him and he is a little brother to all of us, come with us and let's make sure his sacrifice is not in vain, we'll explain once we get to the Camelot" Noah said

my head was still fuzzy because of that event, although I want to cry, the years of Curl teaching me how to handle this kind of things kick in, I calmed down.

I need to follow whatever this guys are telling me I couldn't let his sacrifice be in vain.

after a while we arrived to our destination, I peaked at a window and there I saw it a huge flying ship.

"Kid, this is where we raised your Brother Curl, all of this is built by your other brother Curl's elder Brother Leonel or as we know him Lord Arthur.

"Lord Arthur? Kuya Leonel?" I said still confused I'm starting to get used to this kind of Information being fed to me though.

"What you're looking at is the Camelot, the Mobile base and command center of the Titan, an Organization Founded by Leonel Aveno to train people with adeptness to Authorities" Noah explained

"Authorities?" I asked

"It's like Magic, but it's real" Marwin said.

"Oh yeah, the one who designed the Camelot is Marwin, he's irresponsible but that doesn't mean he's a dumb fuck" Noah said

Marwin then looked at Noah

"Fuck you" Marwin said

"Yeah yeah, we're way pass that stage now, we still need to work together, anyway Markus the Camelot is 1900 ft long and it can house hundreds of Agents just like Curl, it's being powered by the energy source discovered by Leonel and synthesized by Marwin" Noah said

"I thought you hate him for leaving? it seems like you're complimenting him" Amerie said

"I am complementing him, we may have gone to our different paths and the strongest among us decided to bail on us but it doesn't change the fact that this guy over here ended that war, he's still our friend and he will always will be, no free food for you though" Noah said as he look at Marwin with a sarcastic smile.

"NOOOO PLEASE ANYTHING BUT THAT" Marwin said

the three looked at each other and laughed together.

"Wait? Camelot? Lord Arthur? who are you guys?" I asked

I didn't notice it but the ship has already landed in the Base.

"Them? they're the ones who saved the word many years ago" A very familiar Voice said.
