CHAPTER 774: Infamous

The news of Hofs losing his right arm quickly spread throughout the Darkness Dominion. Every family clan in every city was discussing the incident in Hushveil City. Han Shuo and Rose had suddenly become the centre of attention in the Darkness Dominion.

Even though it had been a long time since Han Shuo and Rose had thrown Hushveil City into chaos, since no one in Hushveil City had ever met them before, Hushveil City still didn't have a clue as to the identity of the murderers. However, most people suspected that the killers were from the House of Sainte.

Wallace and Andre, knowing that their House of Sainte had nothing to do with the matter, were forced to respond to the widespread rumours and accusations by distancing themselves from the incident in Hushveil City. With that, the identity of the mysterious assassins became even more of a mystery.

After losing an arm, Hofs became unusually reclusive. He paid no attention to the events in Hushveil City, instead retreating into seclusion to concentrate on healing his injuries. With Hofs unavailable to explain what had really happened, the rumours became increasingly distorted from the truth. Unwittingly, the public's portrayal of Han Shuo and Rose became more vicious and monstrous.

Wallace and Andre had just dealt with another wave of questions from City Lords from other cities in the Dominion. They wanted to know from Wallace if the two attackers who had wreaked havoc in Hushveil City were from the House of Sainte.

"Who could it be?" muttered Wallace with a pensive look on his face. He continued, "Although Hofs is the weakest of the Seven City Lords, he is still a Late-stage Highgod expert. But unexpectedly, he would lose an arm to an attacker in the territory of his Hushveil City. How unimaginable!"

"Why? Why Avery and Hassling? What grudge would the attackers have against them?" asked Andre. He too was puzzled and confused.

"Well, we have everything to gain and nothing to lose if Avery and Hassling are dead. Haha, no wonder everyone suspects that the attackers came from our family clan!" Wallace laughed and exclaimed, "Although I can easily defeat Hofs in a duel, I doubt I could easily escape the encirclement of so many experts from Hushveil City, let alone kill so many of their divine guards. This guy is truly miraculous!"

"Brother, could it be Bryan?" A strong suspicion rose in Andre's heart. With a furrowed brow, he said, "In the City of Shadows, apart from our family clan, only Bryan has a grudge against both Avery and Hassling. In addition, Bryan is an expert at concealing himself, and his escape skills are extraordinary. On top of that, Bryan has recently disappeared without explanation. I doubt it is just a coincidence!"

"That's impossible," Wallace shook his head, smiling. He turned to look at Ande and explained, "Although the boy possessed decent strength, he is not that strong, is he? I know Hofs' strength. There's no way Bryan can cut off his arm. It's impossible. Definitely impossible."

But as for Bryan, if he had not beaten Portlem back in the banquet hall, how would we have known that he actually possessed such great strength?"

Andre took a deep breath before asking Wallace in a deep voice, "Brother, if it was really Bryan who did it, what are we going to do?"

Wallace was silent for a moment before he replied, "If it's really Bryan, that's even more wonderful!"

"But what about Hushveil City?" asked Andre.

" Hofs have been injured. Hushveil City has lost much of its power. I have no fear of him!" Wallace groaned coldly and continued, "His Hushveil City had secretly sheltered Avery. I still have a score to settle with him. He is in no position to force us to do anything." Then, after a short pause, Wallace laughed and said, "If it was really Bryan, it wouldn't be too much of a problem. The last time I met with the Overlord of Darkness, I mentioned Bryan. The Lord has instructed our family clan to give Bryan the best treatment, since he has heard that the Goddess of Destiny has expressed her goodwill towards Bryan. Tell me, would this boy be in some kind of trouble?

"The Goddess of Destiny is truly influential!" After thinking for a moment, Andre quietly exclaimed in admiration, "This guy is really lucky!"

"He is." Wallace said with a faint smile, "But we must be overthinking. The boy probably doesn't have that much strength yet..."

Of course, the rumours had also reached the ears of the House of Han. Sanguis, Bolland, Gilbert, and others knew without thinking that Han Shuo and Rose were the mysterious attackers.

The Divine Guards of the Fifth Corps had also met Rose before. However, since there were many white-haired ladies in the Darkness Dominion, and since most people outside of the Han family did not know Han Shuo well, no one suspected that Han Shuo and Rose were the culprits.

A month later, Han Shuo and Rose returned to the City of Shadows.

On the way home, Han Shuo collected all sorts of precious and rare medicinal ingredients found on Elysium. He used the ingredients to make many pellet medicines to feed his demonic infant. After a month of nursing, his demon infant began to recover. However, full recovery would take longer.

Unlike the demon body, the demon infant didn't heal easily from injuries. Therefore, as soon as the Cauldron Spirit realised that Han Shuo's demon infant was injured, it spontaneously withdrew its energy from Han Shuo's body.

While Han Shuo was using natural herbs and ingredients to feed his demon infant, he was diligently practising the fusion of his Domain of Divinity. He had discovered the trick to forming the Miraculous Domain and understood that the domains would merge once the divine souls of his avatars became synchronised with his consciousness.

Han Shuo had yet to discover all the miraculous powers of the Hybrid Domain of Divinity. However, he knew that this new and astonishing Domain of Divinity was powerful enough to compete with Hof's. From the last battle, Han Shuo discovered a new cultivation method - the Fusion of the Energy of Death and Destruction!

After a month of fiddling around, Han Shuo discovered that the limits within the merged Domain of Divinity would be many times more powerful than those unleashed by his avatars alone. The new domain would also allow for faster than normal absorption of elements from the environment. It also possessed hostile and aggressive properties. Learning all this had filled Han Shuo with great excitement.

Before Han Shuo had time to fully familiarise himself with his new Domain of Divinity, he and Rose had arrived in the City of Shadows. To avoid attracting unwanted attention, Han Shuo had asked Rose to cover her long hair with a green headscarf to hide her most prominent and distinctive feature.

Han Shuo had heard some of the rumours about himself. He had not expected to become so infamous for his actions in Hushveil City. He felt a little strange being the centre of attention of the entire Darkness Dominion while those around him had no idea that he was the person they were talking about.

They soon returned to the Han residence. Seeing the refreshing decorations in his home, covered with flowers and plants, Han Shuo's heart was at ease.

Rose seemed very interested in the landscaping of the Han Residence. The Profound Continent style of decoration happened to suit Rose's tastes. She suddenly felt that perhaps a busy and crowded city wasn't so boring after all.

But what made Rose feel even more comfortable was being next to Han Shuo. After spending so much time with Han Shuo, Rose began to understand him better. Although she was technically his slave, Han Shuo had never treated her like a slave.

This was especially true when they were in great danger. Instead of letting his slave bear the brunt, Han Shuo would risk getting hurt to keep her alive. Because of this, Rose was no longer too worried about being tied to Han Shuo as his slave. In fact, she felt that it wasn't all that bad.

As soon as Han Shuo entered his Han residence, his apprentices, harem and other members came to welcome his return. They soon went into a secret chamber for a meeting.

Han Shuo was informed that no major events had taken place during his absence. The only major event that was about to take place was the competition between the Seven Corps. The members of the House of Han were very curious about Han Shuo's actions in Hushveil City and kept asking for his account.

Han Shuo had expected the members of his family clan to find out that he was responsible for the chaos in Hushveil City. He did not deny it, but told the story once, without too many details. Emily and the others sneaked a peek at Rose while Han Shuo told the story. They were shocked and amazed by the terrifying power of this silver-haired beauty.

"As of today, she is a member of our House of Han," Han Shuo declared as he pointed to Rose.

"Master, we have transported the materials for the Eight Desolation and Torment Formation. Shall we set it up in the largest gymnasium?" asked Gilbert.

The members of the House of Han, especially Stratholme and the others, were very interested in the formation. The Divine Guards of the Fifth Corps, Sanguis, Bollands and Gilbert had told the Han family members a thing or two about the Formation. They could not wait to temper themselves with the Formation.

The vast majority of the Divine Guards who entered the Formation had gained some increase in strength. Judging from the performance of his divine guards, Han Shuo was sure that his talented clansmen would gain a deeper understanding of the energy they cultivated after a round of tempering within the Formation. Their strength would also increase.

"Very well. We will reassemble the Eight Desolation and Torment Formation at the Han House. This time, I can raise the power of the formation to an even higher level. Sanguis, Bollands, Gilbert, if you are interested, I can give you a taste of being attacked by Highgod souls," Han Shuo said with an evil smile.
