CHAPTER 718: Touch Him And I Will Kill You!

Han Shuo crouched down and pressed his hand to the victim's back to check his physical condition. The news of Han Shuo saving Carmelita's life two days earlier had spread throughout the City of Shadows. If Rugersey hadn't known, he probably wouldn't have let Han Shuo near his nephew.

The victim was standing between Han Shuo and Rugersey, so he couldn't clearly see what Han Shuo was doing.

Han Shuo's Demonic Yuan moved into the person's body like several shapeless little snakes, trying to find the source of the problem. Han Shuo was very clear about the composition and effects of his Pill of Tranquility. And with the help of his miraculous Demonic Yuan, he quickly figured out the situation.

"This is not right!" Han Shuo furrowed his brow and exclaimed in a deep voice, "There is a compound in his body that is causing his body to spasm. I'm sure this compound will never appear in any Pill of Tranquility I refine. Has he taken any other medicine with it?"

"I... I didn't..." The boy on the floor spoke in a very weak voice and had difficulty speaking.

"You're trying to shift the blame, aren't you?" Rugersey shouted as soon as his nephew denied taking another medicine. He obviously had no confidence in Han Shuo.

"Impossible!" Han Shuo coldly shouted, "It is absolutely impossible for my medicine to contain that compound. There must be something wrong somewhere else!"

"My Lord!" At that moment, a divine guard suddenly rushed into the building.

Rugersey was about to explode. He slapped the flustered divine guard across the face before asking, "What is it?!"

After struggling to keep from stumbling and ignoring the drop of blood running from the corner of his mouth, the Divine Guard replied anxiously, "A Divine Guard was injured in a gymnasium. After consuming a rejuvenation pill that belonged to Gilco, he not only failed to stabilise his injuries, he died on the spot!"

Han Shuo's face turned cold as soon as he heard these words.

Rugersey became extremely angry. He glared at Han Shuo and shouted, "Tell me again how this isn't a problem with your medicine! This has happened not once, but twice! There is no room for you to deny your responsibility. Men, seize him!"

"Lord Rugersey!" Anito shouted immediately, wanting to remind him that Han Shuo was under the protection of Erebus and Andre.

"No need to warn me! Even if Erebus and Andre are here, I will still proceed with the capture and I will take the blame. Seize this boy at once and break his arms and legs for a start. I will personally search for Erebus and Andre later. I want to see how they defend this great impostor!" Rugersey was so angry that he could not be reasoned with.

Upon hearing Rugersey's orders, the divine guards of the Sixth Corps did not hesitate. They immediately surrounded Han Shuo and pointed their divine weapons at Han Shuo.

Han Shuo was furious when he heard that Rugersey wanted to break his arms and legs. It was obvious to him that there was something fishy about this, yet not only did Rugersey refuse to listen to any explanations, he jumped straight to accusing Han Shuo of being an impostor and wanted to punish him. His actions had violated certain regulations of the City of Shadows.

Han Shuo wasn't afraid of Rugersey's threats. With his body's insane rejuvenation ability, Han Shuo could even regrow his organs if they were completely obliterated. Obviously, mending broken bones could not be more effortless for Han Shuo. Besides, Han Shuo was curious if the attacks of these divine Midgod guards could make a dent in his Invincible Omen Body.

Even though breaking his arms and legs would do him almost no harm, Han Shuo could not stand to be insulted like that. He immediately and secretly gathered the energy in his body in preparation to resist these divine guards. He thought to himself that in the worst case scenario - if things escalated to the point where even the House of Sainte could not protect him - he would simply leave the City of Shadows. Han Shuo believed that he would still be able to prosper outside of the City of Shadows, even if it might take some time to rebuild his reputation.

But before Han Shuo could do anything, Andrina, who had been watching coldly the whole time, suddenly sprang into action. A glorious aura surrounded Han Shuo. All the divine weapons aimed at Han Shuo suddenly exploded, sending the Sixth Corps divine guards holding the weapons flying into the distance.

The ice-cold Andrina stood proudly in front of Han Shuo. She remained silent as she stared at Rugersey with a pair of murderous eyes.

"Er..." Anito, who had been trying to persuade Rugersey not to use force, stared and gaped, as did Han Shuo. Neither of them knew how to react to the sudden and unexpected turn of events.

"Who... who are you? How dare you harm my Sixth Corps! Rebel, you are making enemies with the City of Shadows!" Rugersey, as head of the Sixth Corps, wasn't one to accept defeat easily. Though he, too, was momentarily startled by Andrina's strength, he soon came to his senses and, in a practiced manner, laid the blame squarely on Andrina's shoulders.

"If you touch him, I will kill you!" Andrina said in a chilling voice as she stared coldly at Rugersey.

Rugersey, who was ready to strike, felt as if he had been affected by a bizarre energy field. The next moment, an immense sense of danger flooded his mind. It was so intense that he thought of taking a few steps back. A shiver ran through his heart.

After being silent for a while, Han Shuo finally said, "We're going!" He coldly looked at the indecisive Rugersey and said, "Give me some time, I will get to the bottom of this. I dare assure you that there is nothing wrong with my medicine!"

"He's injured so many of our divine guards, don't let him escape!" a member of the Kisa family appeared out of nowhere and shouted from a distance.

No one answered the call. All the divine guards of the Sixth Corps stared at Rugersey, waiting for him to make a decision.

At that moment, Han Shuo and Andrina had started walking towards the exit. However, they were on high alert, ready to deal with any sudden attack from the House of Kisa.

Rugersey, who had been staring at Andrina in silence for a long time, suddenly sprang into action. This Early-stage Highgod of Death charged at her like a wild beast.

In mid-air, Rugersey's face suddenly turned pale as paper, and his entire figure shrank and thinned. In a flash, a piece of bone appeared in his hand. A Domain of Divinity of Death enveloped the area and then the bone shot towards Andrina with a trail of ghostly light.

Cold rays glittered from Andrina's eyes, as if she were on Rugersey. Her body and even her little dress suddenly glittered and shimmered like precious stones. Before the crowd could see what was happening, an intense energy fluctuation erupted from her body. Something that looked like a vortex whirled out of her body and slammed into Rugersey's body.

Rumbling... The sound of an explosion accompanied the burst of blinding light.

Rugersey retreated even faster than he had charged forward. He returned to where he had originally stood with an expression of disbelief.

The gleam in Andrina's eyes grew even more frightening. She took several deep breaths as she stared at Rugersey, and suddenly a blinding light glowed from her body once more. She had charged at Rugersey.

Andrina had acted too quickly. At this point, even if Han Shuo wanted to, he was powerless to stop the fight. Seeing that a fight to the death was inevitable, Han Shuo began to consider which way he should take to leave the City of Shadows.

Suddenly, out of the blue, a pair of shadows descended beside Rugersey.

A huge explosion rang out from the intense darkness. Then, as the darkness lifted, two people stood beside Rugersey. One of them was Andre, who was known to Han Shuo. Han Shuo had not expected Andre to appear here at this time. The other person beside Rugersey was a gentleman in pitch-black armour, who then exclaimed in surprise, "So powerful! Who is that little girl?" He stared at Andrina in horror.

Andrina gasped for breath and immediately retreated back to Han Shuo. She grabbed Han Shuo's hand and said quietly, "My injuries have not fully healed. I cannot defeat all three at once!"

"It's okay, they are not here to fight," Han Shuo reassured Andrina and bowed respectfully from a distance, "Greetings, Lord Andre, Lord Erebus," Han Shuo figured out the identity of this gentleman as soon as he heard his voice. Back when he had been captured by Brovst, Han Shuo had heard Erebus' voice. As someone who remembered powerful figures, Han Shuo remembered the voice by heart.

Andre and Erebus snapped out of their stupor after hearing Han Shuo's greeting. They nodded at Han Shuo. Erebus then put on a friendly and fascinated smile and said to Han Shuo, "Thank you for your medicine. They are truly miraculous!"

"Miraculous?! Two members of my family have fallen victim to his poison! Erebus, Lord Andre, even though this boy is under your protection, you must be fair and uphold justice for me!" Rugersey shouted angrily.

"

"Bryan, what exactly is going on?" Andre had an extremely favourable impression of Han Shuo. And now, after discovering that the little girl beside Han Shuo was an expert with unfathomable strength, Han Shuo's importance in his mind rose another level.

"Two people from the House of Kisa took my medicine and had adverse reactions. I examined this guy and discovered that there was another type of compound in his body that I'm sure didn't come from my Pill of Tranquility. Before I could explain the situation, a second person was reported dead after taking my medicine. Rugersey arbitrarily claimed that my medicine must have caused this. He refused to listen to any reasoning and wanted to break my arms and legs..." Han Shuo explained briefly.

Throughout the explanation, the eyes of Andre, Erebus, Rugersey and even the divine guards of the House of Kisa remained fixed on Andrina as she held Han Shuo's hand.

After a while, Andre gently cleared his throat and said to the enraged Rugersey, "There is something fishy about this. I don't think it has anything to do with Bryan. Many in the town have taken his medicine and they are all well. The Sainte family and the Divine Guardians under Erebus were all safe and sound - two of us can vouch for that. So it is much more likely that there is something wrong with those two in your family clan."

"How is that possible?" Rugersey shouted. But his voice was beginning to lack confidence.

After seeing the exchange of glances between Han Shuo and Andre, Rugersey suddenly realised that he had miscalculated one thing. He had originally assumed that the friendship between Han Shuo and the House of Sainte was shallow. He had thought that Andre and Erebus would favour him over a little Lowgod. However, it was now obvious to him that the two were protecting Han Shuo and were on Han Shuo's side. This forced Rugersey to rethink his approach.

"We should investigate the matter further before any discussion of upholding justice," Erebus said.

"Bryan, you said that this person has a compound in his body that doesn't belong to your Pill of Tranquility, right?" Andre asked Han Shuo with a smile. He could see that Rugersey was slowly losing his confidence.

"It definitely doesn't belong in my medicine. I am certain that the Pill of Tranquility he consumed has either been tampered with, or he is lying, or he has taken some other medicine!" Han Shuo said confidently.

"There is someone else, isn't there? Why don't we check his condition as well?" Andre trusted Han Shuo and turned to ask Rugersey.

"Bring his body over here!" Rugersey reluctantly ordered under Andre's watchful eye.

Soon a body was being carried to the scene by divine guards from the Sixth Corps. Han Shuo leaned forward and carefully examined the body before saying confidently, "This person also has another compound in his body that definitely isn't in my rejuvenation pill!"

"Oi, can you still talk? Try to remember if anyone besides yourself touched the medicine you took?" the gentle Erebus suddenly crouched down beside the twitching person on the ground and asked, looking at him with cold eyes.

Rugersey's nephew was obviously quite upset at being stared at by Erebus. His body shook for a moment before he seemed to remember something and said, "Gilco, Gilco wanted my Pill of Rejuvenation in exchange for this Pill of Tranquillity. I heard from Uncle that the Tranquility Pill is much more expensive than the Rejuvenation Pill, so I agreed to exchange it!"

"The Rejuvenation Pill that the deceased Divine Guard ate was also given by Gilco, wasn't it?" Han Shuo suddenly grinned and asked.

"Where is this Gilco?" Erebus stood up and asked Rugersey.

"I just heard his voice. Where is he?" Rugersey looked around in confusion before turning to a divine guard beside him and instructing, "Go look around and bring him in. It probably has nothing to do with him. He is a member of our House of Kisa." Rugersey's heart felt uncertain as he said these words, for the clues were not in his favour.

A dozen or more minutes later, several divine guards rushed back to the party with worried expressions on their faces. The leader hurriedly reported, "My Lord, Gilco is gone, and so are the crystal coins in his room!"

Rugersey wasn't a complete idiot. The expression on his face turned to fear as soon as he heard these words. He said angrily, "What is Gilco doing?! How could he disappear at this moment?! Find him!"

"Rugersey, I think it is now obvious that the problem is with your House of Kisa, not Bryan's medicine!" Andre raised an eyebrow as he groaned slightly.

"This... this is..." as things had developed to this stage, even Rugersey was aware of what exactly was happening. He seemed embarrassed as he said to Han Shuo, "This... this... Bryan... I'm sorry... very sorry...

"Don't worry!" Han Shuo replied with a faint smile, as if he didn't care at all. He rose from his seat, bowed to Andre and Erebus and announced, "From this day forward, the Celestial Pearl Pharmacy will no longer do business with your House of Kisa!" After finishing these words, Han Shuo marched resolutely with Andrina towards the exit.
