CHAPTER 676: The Prey Became The Predator

Had Han Shuo's demonic arts not advanced by leaps and bounds, or had he not been able to use the Cauldron of Myriad Demon against this godhunter, Han Shuo's only option would have been to flee for his life.

But apparently, this godhunter hadn't been very lucky, as she had encountered Han Shuo shortly after his power had soared.

The act of consuming another's energy, personal gain at the expense of others, had always been the defining characteristic of a demonic arts cultivator. With his two avatars protected within the Cauldron of Myriad Demon, not only were they not exposed to the effects of the old woman's death rays, but by using this defining characteristic of the Demonic Arts, the roles of prey and predator were reversed. From a lamb waiting to be slaughtered, Han Shuo became the butcher!

Suddenly, the divine energy inside the old woman's body became like a reservoir of water in a collapsed dam, rapidly pouring into Han Shuo's body through the death rays that connected her to Han Shuo. The immense pain that came all too suddenly caught her off guard and she began to scream in agony.

"How... how is this possible?" the old woman performed far worse than Han Shuo when subjected to the painful procedure. She even stuttered in her speech. Her grimace of pain made her appearance all the more ugly and terrifying.

Han Shuo remained silent as he stared at her with his cold and hard eyes. As she spoke, the Cauldron of Myriad Demon suddenly flew out of Han Shuo's body and covered the top of her skull in a split second.

Immediately, the Cauldron of Myriad Demon formed a soul-affecting energy field. The old woman, who had been trying to withstand the death rays and escape, began to scream louder and more painfully under the influence of the energy field. Her voice spread far and wide. Her grey eyes filled with confusion as she began to lose track of the situation.

Han Shuo suddenly closed his eyes and concentrated on the effort. After the Cauldron of Myriad Demon left his body, he began to circulate the Demonic Yuan even faster, rapidly draining the old woman of her divine energy through those death rays.

All the divine energy that Han Shuo had lost to her flowed back into his body very quickly. His Avatar of Death, emerging from the Cauldron if Myriad Demon , wasted no time in regaining the lost energy.

Han Shuo grimaced in his heart. He had not expected to encounter such a fierce godhunter so soon after his arrival on Elysium. But fortunately, since he had concealed his true strength, the tragedy turned into a fortune. This old woman was a midgod cultivating in the elemental energy of death. As long as Han Shuo assimilated all the divine energy in her, his Death Avatar would surely skyrocket in power.

Unlike his Avatar who had cultivated in the Edict of Destruction, Han Shuo's Avatar of Death had previously merged with the divine soul of a Midgod back in the Void. Possessing all of that Midgod's previous understanding of the Death Element, once Han Shuo possessed enough divine energy, he would be able to progress in an extremely short period of time!

The Cauldron of Myriad Demon that enveloped the top of the old woman's head used the power of the Demon Generals contained in the Cauldron to form an energy field that caused her soul to sink into oblivion. At that moment, she was completely at a loss and senseless to the situation. She was completely under Han Shuo's control.

"What immense divine energy. Truly worthy of being called a Midgod!" Han Shuo basked in the glory of his victim's divine energy flowing into his body.

"Bryan, your friend is in trouble. Also, there are people coming this way!" the Cauldron Spirit suddenly transmitted as Han Shuo basked in the wonderful sensation.

Suddenly, through the mystical demons that the Cauldron Spirit had unleashed, Han Shuo discovered that a group of people were furiously pursuing Akley. Leading the group was a well-built middle-aged man cultivating in the Edict of Destruction, a Late-stage Lowgod. Behind him were two experts in the Element of Darkness and several Lowgod. They were all wearing similar clothes.

With a single glance, Han Shuo recognised the group as the ones pursuing Akley. Han Shuo had no idea how they managed to find Akley so quickly.

On the other hand, those who had escaped from the God Hunter were rapidly approaching Han Shuo with Dolores, following the pitiful howl of the old woman beside him.

Either side, Akley or Dolores, would hinder Han Shuo's plan to consume the old woman's divine energy. This was especially true when it came to Dolores. Godhunters were the public targets of scorn. Han Shuo's current deeds were no different from those of a godhunter, even if he was sucking the divine energy of a godhunter!

If Dolores were to catch Han Shuo in the act, no matter how close Han Shuo was to Donna, with so many people watching, Dolores would have no choice but to attack Han Shuo. Moreover, from that moment on, Han Shuo's name would be tarnished. He would be branded as a godhunter forever.

This would definitely be very detrimental to Han Shuo's future development, and he did not want that to happen!

"Kill. You take their soul while I destroy their body!" Han Shuo firmly told the Cauldron Spirit his intentions.

"Yes, sir!" The Cauldron Spirit immediately agreed and took action. The Cauldron of the Myriad Demon that was attached to the top of her head suddenly moved downwards, covering her entire skull.

Meanwhile, Han Shuo stopped draining the divine energy from the old woman's body. Demonic flames erupted violently from his palms and ravaged her body.

The unique patterns on the Cauldron of Myriad Demon began to glow with a beautiful green light once again. Strange waves travelled up the old woman's neck and entered the Cauldron of Myriad Demon . Han Shuo could clearly feel the old woman's soul being pulled away.

Within the red flames of the Mystical Glacial Spellfire, this godhunter's body was completely charred. Her original appearance was unrecognisable. After the Cauldron Spirit had pulled her divine soul into the Cauldron of the Myriad Demon, Han Shuo threw her burnt body into the cliff in front of him.

Han Shuo did not linger there for a second. He unleashed his demonic arts at full throttle and zoomed off towards Akley, leaving a trail of shapeless shadows in his wake.

Minutes after Han Shuo left, Dolores and a group of divine guards arrived in the area. After scanning the area with his cold eyes, Dolores knitted his brows and said in confusion, "The voice obviously came from here. Where could that godhunter have gone?"

"Kira!" a young woman suddenly screamed. She ran over to the Death God who had been murdered by the old woman and began to cry.

"My Lord, this Godhunter knows that you have come and therefore fled in advance!" one of the divine guards said to Dolores.

"Group yourselves in threes and search every inch of these grounds! Signal as soon as you have visual contact. Do not stray too far from here," Dolores ordered.

These divine guards were all well trained. They immediately organised themselves into groups of three and searched the area one by one.

Soon a long whistle sounded from the bottom of the cliff. Dolores' was startled and suddenly jumped down the cliff. He wasted no time in arriving at the bottom where he saw the old woman's body that Han Shuo had thrown away.

After walking over to the charred body, Dolores crouched down and poked at it a few times with the pike in his hand. His expression suddenly changed and he shouted in a deep voice, "It's her! The Godhunter is dead! How is that possible? Who killed her?"

"Wha- what?" the wailing woman came over and said in disbelief.

"According to your description, this is definitely the body of the Godhunter who chased you. Unbelievable. Someone managed to kill her!" Dolores was astonished at his discovery. A thought suddenly crossed his mind and he asked, "You mentioned that there was a third person in Kira's path?"

"We did. We heard the voice of a third person. But because we were busy trying to escape, we did not catch what he said!" the woman replied.

"My lord, what shall we do now?" one of the divine guards asked, seemingly concerned.

""Drag her body back. As for the one who killed her, we will investigate him slowly. He may not be our enemy!" Dolores said. After hesitating for a moment, he added, "Everyone stick together and stay alert!"

How powerful did this character have to be to take down a Mid-stage Midgod in such a short time? When Dolores gave him a rough answer, he actually felt quite scared! He did not dare to search the area any further to avoid any unnecessary casualties. He did not want anything to happen to the men under his command.

"Lord Dolores, wouldn't that mean that Kira died in vain?" the friend of the deceased complained, sobbing.

"What exactly are you protesting about?" Dolores' face turned cold and he said impatiently, "Isn't the Godhunter dead now? Doesn't it matter who killed the Godhunter? Absolutely not! What more do you want?" Dolores looked at the divine guards beside him and shouted, "Return!

The youngsters who had lost their friend looked at each other and sighed helplessly. Lest they become targets for other Godhunters, they had no choice but to hurry up behind Dolores and his party.

On the other side, the well-built Cultivator of the Edict of Destruction led a group of five to surround Akley. After making sure Akley had no way to escape, he said in a deep voice, "Akley, give us everything and we will let you live!"

"Oh, Bonnie, when have you ever kept your word? Will you let me live if I give you everything? Hehe, who do you think you are trying to fool?" Although Akley stood no chance against these opponents, he not only did not appear to be nervous, he even mocked and ridiculed his opponent.

"Elder brother, you should know Akley's temperament. There's no point talking to him. Let's just kill him and take the stuff. Death is the end of all troubles," another of Akley's opponents suggested grimly.

"Dum-Dum, if I didn't memorise part of the scroll and destroy that part, do you think your older brother would hang around with me for so long?" Akley said mockingly.

"You! I will kill you!" the person could not contain himself and flew into a rage. He must have been wounded by Akley earlier.

"Silence!" Bonnie reined him in and took a deep breath as his face grew colder and colder. He stared at Akley and asked again, "Akley, are you sure you won't spill the beans until you die?"

"If I don't reveal the information, I will die. If I do, I'll still die. So why should I let you have your way?" Akley said, smiling mischievously. The look of madness gradually filled his eyes as he continued, "But, believe it or not, before I die, I will drag at least one of you to the same fate!"

""Everyone be careful. We must capture him alive. As long as we can bring him back to the Blue Ocean Continent, the Patriarch will have ways of extracting everything in his soul!" Bonnie said as he gestured with his hands. Noticeably, the group did not approach Akley, and in fact began to walk backwards and away from him.

It seems that this guy must be finished. Otherwise he would have come here a long time ago! thought Akley while he could still think. He did not believe that Han Shuo could really escape from the hands of a Midgod .

"I will lead the main attack while you all hold him back. Akley is a madman, so you all better be careful!" instructed Bonnie. He turned in his mind how in the world he could capture Akley alive. Having pursued Akley for so long, he had long known that Akley was someone who would stop at nothing to find ways to inflict maximum casualties before his own death. Although Bonnie was far more powerful than Akley, taking Akley alive was still a major problem.

Surrounded in the centre, with his body still badly damaged, Akley knew there was no chance of survival. Under such conditions, Akley no longer had any hope of surviving. All he wanted was to kill at least one or two of his opponents with his death. He secretly began to use a self-destruct manoeuvre, ready to inflict heavy damage on his opponents the moment they exchanged blows.

Han Shuo's voice suddenly sounded next to his ears, "Akley, don't do anything stupid. I can still save you!"

Akley, who was about to give in to self-destruction, froze. He cried out in surprise, "You're not dead?"

"How would we die? The person who will die is you!" sneered the opponent who had been injured by Akley earlier.

"Don't talk and don't move an inch. Just maintain this exact posture!" Han Shuo instructed, asking Akley to calm down.

"Attack!" Bonnie shouted as he unleashed his Domain of Divinity. The elemental energy around him was all affected by his Domain of Divinity.

At that moment, a huge, colourful banner, like a dark cloud from nowhere, suddenly descended from the sky.

"Elder brother, what is this thing?"

"Take Akley down, quickly! Someone else is interfering with us. Akley must have found an assistant!" Bonnie shouted, charging at the motionless Akley.

The Banner of Hallucination covered him faster than he could have imagined. As Bonnie continued to charge, he suddenly felt dizzy, as if the world was spinning. He could no longer tell the directions. A thin mist had filled the air around them, obscuring their vision.

Akley, at the centre of it all, suddenly found himself being roughly dragged by his collar. After being dragged several times, Akley knew immediately that Han Shuo had come to his rescue.

Let's go!" Han Shuo shouted as he quickly disappeared into the mist. He quickly disappeared from the area. The Banner of Hallucination followed him and was kept away.

"Huh? Where did he go? Where is Akley?" as the fog slowly dissipated, Bonnie and his gang suddenly discovered that their target had long since disappeared without a trace.

"We left a tracker on him. He can run, but he can't hide!" Bonnie pulled out a horn-shaped object and blew several deep breaths into one end of it. He then pointed in the direction Han Shuo had fled and shouted, "Go after him!"

"So it turns out they left a tracker on you. No wonder. I was quite puzzled as to how they were able to locate you so quickly!"

Han Shuo said smiling to Akley who was being dragged.

"What tracker?" Akley was shocked. He also realised that something wasn't right after hearing Han Shuo's words.

"Don't worry, we'll find out soon." Han Shuo was trying to decide whether or not to take the opportunity to finish off these people. But after thinking for a while, he felt that Akley would be more dependent on him if they remained alive. So he gave up the idea of turning back and slaughtering them all.
