CHAPTER 666: New Insight Into The Edict Of Destruction

After the Cauldron Spirit collected the divine souls of Eriksson and Emperor, Han Shuo did not immediately leave. Instead, he did what he did best - plundering the corpses for the valuables on them.

As his strength increased, Han Shuo had not plundered the dead for a long time, as most of his opponents were much weaker and would not have carried items valuable enough to be worth his time. But of course, this was not the case with Emperor and Eriksson. Since the two of them were former god existences, Han Shuo believed that they would surely be carrying precious items.

Han Shuo fished two pieces of space rings out of the mangled bodies and casually stowed them away.

The Cauldron Spirit had warned Han Shuo that the Ninth Realm Mystical Yin Harvester, located in this layer of the underground world, would completely self-destruct within a short period of time. When the time came, an earth-shattering transformation would take place. Han Shuo had to get out of the blast zone as soon as possible, lest he suffer the effects as everything crumbled.

Donna, Bolten and the others would all play a crucial role in guiding Han Shuo's path to Elysium, the plane of the gods, and so he would not allow these people to die there. Otherwise, with no connection to anyone living in Elysium, Han Shuo would undoubtedly have great difficulty setting foot on this unfamiliar material plane.

With Cauldron Spirit's guidance, Han Shuo took off in the direction of where Donna and her experts were trapped. As he flew over, he debated in his mind whether or not to get rid of Olde.

Deep down, Han Shuo understood that if he didn't get rid of Olde inside the demonic formation, it would be difficult, if not impossible, to get rid of Olde when he was outside the demonic formation.

However, Han Shuo was reluctant to do this because there wasn't much animosity between him and Olde. Besides, Kelly of the Druidic Order had some friendly relations with him, while the Druidic Order was one of the closest allies of the Lancelot Empire. Furthermore, Olde had shown no hostility towards him after his sudden arrival. For all these reasons, Han Shuo was stuck in indecision.

With the Cauldron Spirit in control of the demonic formations in this place, Han Shuo was not worried about how difficult it would be to kill Olde. He was concerned about the consequences.

What was certain was that if Olde died in this place, then the Church of Light and the Druidic Order wouldn't know about the imminent destruction of the Ninth Realm Mystical Yin Harvester. In that case, those powerhouses would surely make another attempt to cross over to the Profound Continent to explore it. Who knew what havoc they would wreak on this material plane by then?

As if it could read Han Shuo's mind, the Cauldron Spirit suggested, "Perhaps this person should be kept alive. With him spreading the word that everything in this place has been destroyed, those from his forces will stop thinking about exploring this place and there won't be a constant stream of foreign experts making their way over."

After pondering for a moment, Han Shuo nodded silently. He also thought that now was not the time to get rid of Olde. He was more useful alive than dead.

So Han Shuo decided to let Olde go.

Following the Cauldron Spirit's guidance, Han Shuo arrived at the stone forest where Donna and her experts had been all along.

After Han Shuo broke away from the group, Cauldron Spirit trapped them in the Stone Forest and they couldn't leave the area for the entire nine days.

The moment Han Shuo emerged from the dense mist, Donna and her experts, who had been trapped for nine days, all became incredibly excited and their eyes blazed. Li Wei even started screaming and squealing in excitement.

"Bryan! You have finally returned! Did you know that we were all trapped here after you left? We couldn't leave this place even when we tried your method. Goodness, we almost went mad from boredom!" Li Wei shouted as soon as she saw Han Shuo.

"Come with me, I will lead you all out of here. Soon after I left, this place began to change. I was trapped for days before I could figure out the new patterns!" Han Shuo said with mild excitement. He had an expression on his face as if he had just escaped from danger.

The Cauldron Spirit removed the barriers that had sealed off the area. With Han Shuo leading the way, Donna and her experts hurriedly left the stone forest.

"Bryan, you said you were trapped for a few days as well?" Donna asked Han Shuo once they were out of their predicament.

"For some reason, many of the patterns in this place have been altered. Things that were familiar to me were suddenly unrecognisable. It took me a long time to recognise some of the patterns again," Han Shuo explained anxiously.

Han Shuo then looked at the towering mountains that made up the Ninth Realm Mystical Yin Harvester and said gravely to Donna, "Look at those mountains, they seem to be tottering and on the verge of collapse. I suggest we stop venturing further and leave the area until we have a clear view of the situation. What do you think?"

After hearing Han Shuo's admonition, Donna and her experts began to hastily look around. They obviously saw that the mountains were swaying and that heavy rumbling noises were coming from the depths of the earth.

Donna's eyes widened and she exclaimed in surprise, "This place is about to collapse!"

"This doesn't look good. We should leave as soon as possible!" Bolten was truly frightened by the strangeness of this place.

"Sister Donna, let's stay away from this area, at least temporarily!" Li Wei also felt a sense of fear.

Donna looked at the mountains in the distance and thought for a moment before shouting, "All right, we will take cover for now!

Having personally experienced critical circumstances in this place, Donna understood that this place was full of deadly dangers. Considering that even Han Shuo had explained that he couldn't go any deeper, and that she and her party wouldn't be able to survive without Han Shuo's help, she resolutely ordered the team to retreat.

The heavy rumbling could be clearly heard from all directions. From what the Cauldron Spirit had told him, Han Shuo knew that the Ninth Realm Mystical Yin Harvester was on the verge of collapse. Donna and her experts raised no objections as they chased after Han Shuo, quickly returning to where they had entered. With the Cauldron Spirit's help, the demonic formations in Han Shuo's path were all disabled, allowing Han Shuo and his party to retreat unhindered.

Meanwhile, with the Cauldron Spirit controlling the demonic formation in the dark, the group of demonic formations that had been trapping Olde all along were also shut down.

The heavy, dull rumble made Olde jump in fright. He could no longer keep his composure and began to look around anxiously. The reason Olde had been able to remain calm and rest to regain his divine energy before was because he understood that the strange environment around him was merely trapping them and not threatening their lives.

However, those rumbling sounds, accompanied by the intense shaking of the earth, gave Olde the feeling that everything around him was about to be destroyed. He had truly lost his head and could no longer keep a calm mind. He struggled to find a way out.

Kelly, who stood beside him, had despair written all over his face. He had given up all hope and was silently waiting for death.

Suddenly, Olde noticed a bright beam of light shining in the distance and began to probe it with his mind. He immediately discovered that it was a way out. Olde was overjoyed. Without thinking, he grabbed Kelly beside him and ran for the exit.

As soon as Olde left the combination of demonic formations, he found himself in an environment of uniquely arranged mountains. Large and small boulders tumbled down with loud rumbles. The surface of the earth was torn apart to form canyons. It was as if an enraged monster had awoken from its slumber and was ravaging the place.

Olde was alarmed. Given the circumstances, he had no time to record or observe the wonders of his surroundings. Carrying Kelly, he flew towards where Han Shuo and the others had fled.

Because Olde and Kelly left the area a little late, rocks, boulders and sand began to fall towards Olde and Kelly. The properties of the falling debris had been altered by Gu Tian Xie, the Exalted Demonlord. They were so violent and unpredictable that Olde had a hard time dealing with them.

Pow! Bang! Several huge rocks crashed down on him, travelling in trajectories that Olde could not predict. The rocks seemed to contain some bizarre energy, for it was almost too much for a midgod like Olde to bear. Every time Olde was hit by one, his body trembled and his steps wavered.

"Lord Olde, leave me behind, leave this place without me!" Kelly had been under Olde's protection all this time and he was very touched. He felt honoured that such a distinguished god from a high material plane, serving the Goddess of Nature, should be so concerned about him. Seeing that Olde was having difficulty withstanding the impact at such critical moments, Kelly offered to stay behind.

"If I could get you in alive, I can get you out alive! A follower of the Goddess as devout as you are must live on!" Olde spat blood mixed with crushed bones and flesh. When he realised that he could not dodge the bizarre rocks that were falling, he made a bold decision. Gritting his teeth, he stopped dodging the falling rocks and instead flew towards the exit at top speed.

Olde had no choice! At this point, the mountains around him were on the verge of collapse and could collapse at any moment. As these falling rocks alone were almost too much for Olde to bear, Olde believed that once these mountains collapsed, his fate would be sealed.

As he recklessly charged forward, more boulders mercilessly rained down on Olde. His divine body was badly injured and exhausted.

Olde had never imagined that these normal-looking falling rocks found on this low-level material plane called the Profound Continent could actually cause him such immense injuries and agony. He finally understood how his ancestor could have disappeared in such a place.

Finally, Olde and Kelly were able to emerge from the crumbling Ninth Realm Mystical Yin Harvester. When they appeared in front of Han Shuo, Donna and the others, Kelly looked utterly miserable and pitiful. Even his body was swaying and staggering.

The faces of Bolten, Li Wei and the others suddenly shook. They put on an eager expression, thinking that this was the best opportunity to get rid of Olde.

But before Bolten or Li Wei could do anything, Han Shuo suddenly stepped forward and asked in a friendly manner, "Are you all right?" With his back to Bolten and Li Wei, Han Shuo gestured at them with a hand on his back.

Donna, seeing that Olde was badly injured and reluctant to go on the offensive, stopped Li Wei and Bolten with her eyes as soon as she saw Han Shuo's hand gestures. She even spontaneously took Li Wei and the others a few steps back to get some distance from Olde, as if to signal her non-aggression to Olde.

Olde may have been badly injured, but he was ready to fight to the death. When he saw Han Shuo suddenly step forward and Donna and her team immediately step back, his guarded heart relaxed slightly. He drew back the divine energy he had prepared to use in an all-out battle and silently restored the divine energy in his body.

"Don't worry! We have no hostile intentions!" Through Cauldron Spirit's observation, Han Shuo knew that Olde's mind was disturbed and his body injured, but he still had the strength to fight. Besides, since Han Shuo needed Olde to stay alive in order to deliver the information about the impending total destruction of this unique place to his faction, Han Shuo had no hope of causing his death.

"That would be best. I was really afraid of that happening," Olde replied with a faint smile. He then looked at Han Shuo thoughtfully, feeling rather confused. He couldn't understand why Han Shuo would interrupt his teammates or what his intentions were. Could he have found out that I still have the power of self-preservation? Impossible! Then did he do it to save me? That's even more unbelievable! Olde was completely stunned.

A terrible explosion sounded from behind Olde.

The crowd immediately turned and focused their attention on the source of the sound. They were horrified to see that in such a short time, the several mountains surrounding them had completely collapsed into the torn earth. Dust and sand were hurled into the sky. Universe-shaking rumblings continued to roar from this region.

The destruction continued before their watchful eyes. Dust filled the air, sand and stone were sent flying, mountains crumbled, and the earth was torn apart. Everything and everyone was being obliterated!

Suddenly, Han Shuo's Avatar of Destruction inside the Cauldron of Myriad Demon seemed to have understood something through the visual observation of Han Shuo's main body. It immediately calmed down inside the Cauldron of Myriad Demon .

Han Shuo communicated with the Cauldron Spirit using his consciousness and discovered that the Cauldron Spirit had completely removed all the negative energy and deceased souls from his Avatar of Destruction formed from the Demonslayer's Edge. All that was left in the avatar was the purest divine energy of destruction.

Han Shuo immediately realised that the scene of destruction he was watching with his main body had given his Avatar of Destruction some sort of inspiration and insight.

Since the formation of his Avatar of Destruction, he had never been able to gain such an unusual insight by simply observing the changes in his surroundings. Han Shuo was overjoyed to discover this phenomenon. He knew that the Cauldron Spirit was indeed correct. It was only after removing the impurities in his Avatar of Destruction that he was able to gain such new insights into the Edict of Destruction.

Pleasantly surprised by this discovery, Han Shuo carefully watched the complete destruction of the Ninth Realm Mystical Yin Harvester, not letting up for a moment.

This Ninth Realm Mystical Yin Harvester, which had been personally used by the Exalted DemonLord Gu Tian Xie, was a magnificent masterpiece that had brought Han Shuo here from another universe. Even though it had completed its mission and was about to be destroyed, it brought Han Shuo a final gift.

As Han Shuo watched the Ninth Realm Mystical Yin Harvester being destroyed in front of him, he somehow felt that its end was the beginning of his new life!
