Chapter 58: The Function of the Skeleton Warriors

"Souls of the fallen soldiers, heed the call of the dark herald and reveal your existence!" Han Shuo suddenly began to chant a magical incantation as he ran towards the passage.

An ordinary skeletal warrior appeared in the passage after his incantation had finished. Upon seeing the skeletal warrior materialise, Han Shuo immediately focused his mental power and gave a command - rob them.

This skeleton warrior was not the one Han Shuo had refined with magic yuan. His speed and strength paled in comparison to the small skeleton. His bones even creaked and rubbed together when he moved.

The inky black skeleton with seven bone spurs had caused too much trouble at the Babylon Academy of Magic and Strength. If someone were to find out that he was the one who had summoned the little skeleton, it would certainly cause him a lot of trouble. Therefore, Han Shuo didn't dare let the little skeleton appear at this moment.

"Everyone hurry, otherwise all the items will be taken by someone else!" Among those who'd stayed behind was Irene from the Light Major. Seeing Han Shuo and the others running down, she immediately called out and followed.

On the necromancy major's side, Fanny, Lisa and the others started when they saw Han Shuo summoning a skeletal warrior, then quickly regained their senses. They wore expressions of joy and started summoning skeleton warriors as well.

More than ten skeleton warriors were suddenly summoned by Fanny, Lisa and the others. Under the command of their mental power, the skeletal warriors all reached out their bony hands and began to pick up the huge sacks from the ground.

The resources in the wolf rider's sacks had all been taken during previous raids. Now that the orc wolf riders were all dead, these sacks lacked a master, and of course they were up for grabs to whoever grabbed them first. On Han Shuo's side, the skeletal warriors, lacking in combat power, were finally of some use. Although their speed was slow, each skeleton warrior still had a bag dangling from their hands.

As their masters, Han Shuo, Fanny, Lisa and the others naturally didn't stand idly by. Everyone had a bag in their hands, and Han Shuo had even grabbed four bags, looking like the cat that ate the canary.

Han Shuo and the others had recovered eighty percent of the loot that the wolf riders had left in the passage. The other strangers had managed to grab the remaining twenty percent. Weapons, armour and medicine from the city of Drol were all very valuable items. If taken to the Empire and sold there, they were sure to fetch high prices and rich rewards.

After ordering the skeletal warriors to line up in neat rows, Han Shuo looked at Fanny with a smile, "Master Fanny, with these items and our gains from the Dark Forest, I think the school authorities will look at our necromancy major in a different light when we return to the Empire.

Fanny's mood was also extremely cheerful at this time, and she had long since forgotten Han Shuo's earlier insolence. A gleeful expression appeared on her face as she glanced at Han Shuo and said lightly, "Maybe not. Many of these things are from the shops in the city of Drol. Although the owners of those shops are now either on the run or dead, if the Empire were to find out the origin of these goods, they would surely confiscate them."

Fanny's concern was not unfounded. Han Shuo thought for a moment and suddenly remembered the merchant Fabian he had met in the Dark Forest. When the two had parted ways, Fabian had left a map with Han Shuo so that Han Shuo could find him and do business with him. Fabian was a member of the Boozt Merchant Guild and should have an appropriate way to dispose of the items if they found him.

As his thoughts travelled to this point, Han Shuo smiled confidently at Fanny and said, "Master Fanny, you need not worry. As long as we make it back to the empire in one piece, I have ways of disposing of these items that shouldn't leave any traces behind."

Fanny gave Han Shuo a questioning look, then shook her head and said emotionally, "Bryan, I realise I can see through you less and less. How many secrets have you kept from us... how would you have the methods to dispose of these items?"

With a light chuckle, Han Shuo said, "Let's talk about these things later. I think our first concern should be how to leave this place and quickly return to the empire."

Just as Han Shuo and Fanny were talking, Beacher and the others, including Gene, Bach and the Necromancy Major on the other side, had returned from the distance they'd travelled. Judging by the relieved expressions on their faces, Han Shuo knew that the orcs had most likely met their imminent doom.

In fact, when Beacher and the others walked over, he immediately said proudly, "Everyone relax, none of those orcs made it out. We can finally relax for a moment."

He was halfway through his words when he suddenly looked around in surprise and exclaimed, "Eh, what's going on?"

Apart from the corpses of the orc wolf riders and the giant wolves in the corridor, all the bags had been split by the remaining humans. Especially on Han Shuo's and Fanny's side, a row of skeletal warriors, each holding a huge sack, stood out.

Fanny was a little awkward, opening her mouth and not knowing what to say. Finally, in her excitement, she couldn't help but glare at Han Shuo, indicating that Han Shuo should respond.

As he walked forward as if nothing had happened, there was not a trace of embarrassment on Han Shuo's face. He placed the two bags on his body and called out to the unknown mercenaries, warriors and mages who had just returned from afar. He smiled faintly, "These are all spoils of battle, brave fighters come and take some. Everyone will soon go their separate ways, But we've just beaten back the orcs together, so let these items be a memento of our battle".

"Sure, all right!"

The ten or so adventurers who had returned cheered in unison and ran over excitedly, skilfully rummaging through the resources in the bags.

Beacher and some of the other light-major students were about to join their ranks when they saw Irene and the others, also holding stuffed bags. They started to walk over to Irene.

"Little one, you're a good friend. If you ever need the services of our Battlewolves mercenary company in the future, don't hesitate to ask."

"Heh heh, I'm very happy to be friends with you. If you need any medicine in the future, just come to me."

These people all chatted and laughed in high spirits as they rifled through the items, while numerous cards with contact information found their way into Han Shuo's hands.

"Master Fanny, why are we giving these items to them? What's wrong with Bryan?" A necromancy student, Athena, watched Han Shuo's open bags with a look of pain as she asked angrily.

"His methods are absolutely right. If we swallow all these resources ourselves, these people won't gain anything and will surely report this matter to the Empire. They might even think of robbing us in their anger. We'd be in trouble.

Bryan has only taken a small portion for now, so they can choose what they want. That'll take them down with us and shut everyone up. They don't have space rings and can't summon skeletal warriors like us for manual labour, so they can't take much. At the end of the day, we're the ones who benefit the most, and he's won the friendship of these adventurers. The Bryan of today is truly becoming stronger and stronger! Fanny's beautiful eyes had been fixed on Han Shuo's figure, talking and laughing with the adventurers as she explained to the perplexed Athena.

"He is becoming more and more mysterious. I wonder where he's learned all these random bits of knowledge, and his knowledge actually has some use!" Lisa looked at Han Shuo, remembering the secret way he'd taught her to round her breasts, and whispered with a hint of emotion.

"Alright, since everyone has made their choice, let's split up now. I won't be shy if I need your help in the future, haha!" Han Shuo chattered happily with an air of familiarity on the other side. The four large bags on his body were basically empty.

These mercenaries and adventurers had all more or less benefited and gained items they needed. As they looked at Han Shuo, they felt that he was incredibly pleasing to the eye. After exchanging pleasantries, they all left one by one. Beacher and the others also left with their loot after stopping by to thank Fanny.

Gene finally spoke in wistful regret when only Han Shuo and the others were left in the area, "I would have stayed if I'd known sooner. If we hadn't left, those bags in the hands of the Light Majors would have been ours for sure."

Fanny had no comment for Gene's regret and suddenly felt that even though he had several years on him, his intelligence did not even seem to match Han Shuo's. An involuntary wave of contempt rose in her heart.

"Right, what should we do now?" Fanny's eyes looked at Han Shuo and the question came out of her mouth naturally.

Raising his head to look at the vast Nirolan River, Han Shuo thought for a moment and said quietly, "There are some tall trees in the canyon below. There are several sharp weapons in our bags and a few bundles of rope. We'll be able to build wooden rafts quickly if we cut down some trees. We'll be able to travel the Nirolan River with the rafts and make it directly to Balthazar City.

"I see, then why didn't you tell the others?" Gene asked suddenly when he heard Han Shuo's words.

"What business is it of mine if they want to leave? Besides, if they leave, they'll be able to draw the orcs' attention away from us, reducing our danger. Isn't that good?" Han Shuo smiled faintly and explained matter-of-factly.

Fanny, Gene and the others were all stunned by his words and privately thought that Han Shuo was indeed different now. When he'd been happily chatting and laughing with others, he'd been secretly plotting against them.

Gene, Bach and Bella suddenly looked at each other and thought about what they'd done to Han Shuo in the past. A chill gripped their hearts at the same time.
