CHAPTER 529: Mystical Demon Yuan

As Han Shuo emerged from his secret underground chamber, one thought circled in his mind like a fly. The eight elemental energies and the four edictal powers - none of them seemed to include demonic yuan. Even if they did, what exactly was Demonic Yuan?

Basically, one cultivated in the eight elemental energies and the four edict forces by learning how to harness the energy around them. They would absorb and manipulate these energies to strengthen their body and soul.

Whichever of the eight elemental energies and four edict forces one chose, they had all been present in the world since the beginning of time. Those who cultivated in them gradually grew stronger and became gods by merging with these energies.

The demonic arts that Han Shuo was cultivating, however, had all the requirements to be generated from within the body. Although he was able to progress by absorbing certain rare forms of energy, Han Shuo had never felt the presence of demonic yuan in the world. This realisation left Han Shuo stunned.

Those who cultivated in the elemental energies and edict forces relied on external energies, while Han Shuo's demonic arts were the opposite. Demonic Arts was simply a process of unleashing the hidden potential within oneself through constant tempering and evolution. This seemed to be completely different from the energies identified by the skeletal staff.

From the information Han Shuo had just received, he had also learned that there were some beings in the limitless cosmos who had become gods through other energies, such as fear and desire. As long as one knew how to absorb and manipulate these energies through constant cultivation, one could also become a god. However, they also relied on external energies. The demonic arts and demonic yuan that Han Shuo practised were all naturally formed within the body from the very beginning.

What was even more shocking to Han Shuo was that through some secret techniques of the Demonic Arts, the Demonic Yuan could be catalysed to form energy that resembled elemental energy.

For example, releasing the Demonic Yuan with Mystical Glacial Spellfire, a special technique that utilised the meridians and bones, could produce purple-red demonic flames. The spellfire could produce extreme heat and extreme cold. In addition, Han Shuo could use the Demonic Yuan to heal injuries on his body and even help others heal theirs. Normally, only gods cultivating in the Edict of Life could perform this feat. Furthermore, some special attacks formed with Demonic Yuan could darken the sky, just like when the gods of the element of darkness attacked...

Even more helpful was the fact that even though Demonic Yuan couldn't be found naturally between heaven and earth, Han Shuo could still absorb some other energies and assimilate them for his own use. For example, the energy of resentment, killing intent, and all kinds of negative energy, Han Shuo could absorb them and turn them into demonic yuan, thus increasing his strength.

This attribute was also different from the cultivation of elemental energies and edict powers, as those cultivators could only absorb one of the twelve energies in which they cultivated. Even after becoming a god, they could only absorb the divine energy of other gods who cultivated in the same energy, and could not absorb the divine energy of gods who cultivated in a different type of energy.

When Han Shuo thought about it carefully, he realised that the demonic yuan naturally formed in his body could not only absorb and assimilate other sinister energies, but by utilising the demonic yuan through various demonic techniques, he could even form energies similar to others. This fact alone was largely inconsistent with the eight elemental energies and edict powers that Han Shuo had learned about.

After sifting through the knowledge contained within the Tri-Coloured Skeletal Staff, Han Shuo discovered that there was no understanding of demonic yuan within those memories, none whatsoever. This meant that the original master of the skeletal staff, a midgod, was unaware of the existence of demonic yuan. He was confused.

Han Shuo believed that the way the gods were divided into classes, as understood by this Midgod, should be the basis for all power division in this universe. From the fact that the demonic arts had completely different power divisions and cultivation methods, Han Shuo came to a shocking conclusion - the earth where the demonic arts cultivators lived probably wasn't part of this universe of numerous material planes.

Only such an explanation would make sense! Otherwise, this Midgod wouldn't have been so oblivious to the existence of Demonic Yuan. As a Demonic Arts Cultivator himself, Han Shuo knew how powerful a demonic yuan cultivator could be. Just by finding his way to the carnal realm, he was already as powerful as a so-called demigod. If such a group of powerful cultivators really existed in this universe, they would definitely not be such an obscure and unknown group of people, but would be known to the gods.

On top of that, the Demonic Yuan had inherent and distinct differences in terms of the eight elemental energies and edict powers. With all this information, Han Shuo concluded that there was no way that Demonic Arts Cultivators belonged to this universe!

Han Shuo sighed and shook his head bitterly. He was speechless. However, since he had cultivated in the demonic arts to this point, he had clearly realised how powerful the demonic arts could be. Therefore, his determination to focus on cultivating the demonic arts never wavered.

Han Shuo could even argue that Demonic Yuan was superior to the eight elemental energies and the four edictal powers. This feeling came from his many years of cultivation in Demonic Yuan. But Han Shuo simply couldn't give a concrete reason why.

"Mr. Han Shuo, Mr. Han Shuo, are you there?" A young girl with snow-white wings stood outside the door, her voice soft and pleasant.

"I am here." Han Shuo recovered from his chaotic state of mind. He flashed a bright smile and removed the magical formations inside the house before slowly opening the door.

The beautiful young winged girl waited gracefully in the open space outside the door. A pair of intense, vivid eyes sat on her delicate face. This young girl looked nothing like Crosius, but she had inherited his deep eyes. Her eyes, combined with her angelic features and snow-white wings, made her so immensely beautiful that she did not even appear mortal.

Seeing Han Shuo open the door, the beautiful young girl smiled and said. "It turns out that Mister Han Shuo is inside. My name is Jasper, and I'm very happy that Mister Han Shuo has agreed to be a guest advisor for War Demon Valley. I have come to ask for advise from Mister Han Shuo on some martial arts skills.

Jasper cultivated in the Wind Elemental instead of the Earth Elemental Energy like her father Crosius. From the presence leaving her body, Han Shuo could tell that she probably had the strength of a level three Destroyer, and was even slightly more powerful than Hemanna and Sylph.

In the Abyss Realm, creatures were categorised according to their strength as Abyssal Troopers, Destroyers, Rakshas and Demons. Rakshas had the powers of demigods. Those who formed the Soul of Element and Body if Element became Demons would be considered Basegods in the classification of gods that Han Shuo had just learned about. As for the level of the five Abyssal Demon Kings, Han Shuo could not make a conclusion without seeing them.

Martial arts? Hehehe, Miss Jasper, the martial arts I practise aren't exactly the same as yours. But I can still give you some pointers," Han Shuo looked at Jasper and said with a smile.

"What kind of tips?" Jasper asked as she fixed her eyes on Han Shuo.

"Whenever you cultivate, spend more time meditating and feel the presence of the wind element with your mental power using your soul. By doing so, when you form an elemental body in the future, you may not even need the guidance of Demon King Manticole to form an elemental soul."

Cultivation with mental power was a basic skill that every magis on the Profound Continent knew. However, those in the Abyss realm probably did not know how to cultivate with their mental power, as they had only started to cultivate with their physical bodies. Han Shuo told her this because he wanted to conduct an experiment on Jasper.

As expected, when Jasper heard what Han Shuo had said, she stared at Han Shuo in confusion. Still confused, she said, "Mental strength? Meditation? I don't understand."

"You know what? Why don't you come in first and I'll explain it to you." Han Shuo stepped aside so that Jasper could enter. Once Jasper was inside and rather confused, Han Shuo ordered her to sit with her legs crossed. Han Shuo gave Jasper some of the general knowledge about magic from the Profound Continent, but Jasper still wore a puzzled expression as she listened. So Han Shuo began to recite a necromancy spell, forming some bone spears in the space in front of Jasper and said, "By sensing the elemental energy with your mental power, the soul can unleash another type of elemental attack, just like this!

The moment he finished speaking, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, the bone spears flew out.

"A miracle!" Jasper's eyes widened in awe.

She continued impatiently, "How did you do that?"

Han Shuo ordered Jasper to sit down and began to teach Jasper the meditation method most commonly used by the mages of the Profound Continent.

Furthermore, when Han Shuo asked Jasper to absorb and manipulate the Wind Elemental energy with her body, his consciousness was peering into Jasper's body and observing how the Wind Element circulated through her body. He was trying to figure out the secret of how the abyssal beings formed elemental bodies.

As long as Han Shuo discovered the secret of how Abyssal beings could cultivate their bodies to form Elemental Bodies, it would be tantamount to Han Shuo having mastered the secret of becoming a god.

If that was the case, then once Han Shuo returned to the Profound Continent, he would be able to help some of the mages at his side ascend to god status.
