Ossen City. Han Shuo's official residence.
In a secret room, Han Shuo took the skeleton staff and chanted the necromancy spell. After a long and tedious section of the incantation, a mummy lord stood before Han Shuo. The mummy lord was stunned as he inspected Han Shuo, the entire secret room suddenly filled with the deadly scent emanating from his body.
Of the three Grand Magus level summoning spells, Han Shuo has already mastered two of them. He was able to summon ancient old fey zombie and mummy lords with ease, and only the bone demon spell remained. Since he still didn't fully understand the characteristics of the Bone Demon's body composition, Han Shuo wasn't able to temporarily summon a Bone Demon into this world.
With a command, the mummy lord reluctantly waved the ancient strips of cloth wrapped around his body and moved his body according to Han Shuo's instructions.
Nodding his head, Han Shuo knew that he had fully understood the Mummy Lord's summoning. Han Shuo then chanted another spell, and with a wave of the White Bone Staff, the Mummy Lord returned to the underworld.
Keeping the white bone staff, Han Shuo then took out the skeleton staff he had obtained from the Cemetery of Death. Fiddling with the skeletal staff in his hand, Han Shuo hesitated for a while, intending to use the skeletal staff to summon the old fey zombie and the mummy lord.
This skeletal staff was different from the white bone staff. Chanting necromancy while holding the skeletal staff would often double the power of the summoning spell. If Han Shuo used the white bone staff, he might be able to save some mental power, but he would not be able to summon two ancient fey zombie to the Profound Continent.
However, if he channeled the necromancy spell through the skeleton staff, he should be able to search for two ancient fey demons for a short time. Han Shuo had the experience of using the skeletal staff to summon evil knights. He believed that the Old Fey Demons might be the same as the Evil Knights, and that he could summon two Old Fey Zombie in a similar manner.
Han Shuo hesitated for a moment before he began to cast the necromancy spell to summon the Old Fey Demons. As Han Shuo's spell connected with the underworld and the chanting reached the section to search for old fey demons, Han Shuo's mental space suddenly felt the two targets separated by a great distance.
These two targets were old fey zombie. However, there was an incomparable distance between the two Old Fey Zombie. At the same time, both of them felt Han Shuo's presence. As the feeling of their freedom being threatened entered their souls, the two old fey zombies instinctively struggled.
Han Shuo was startled and focused his mental power on suppressing one of the old fey zombie as they were too far apart. . Han Shuo's mental strength couldn't handle both of the old fey zombies at once, and their fierce resistance made him feel a bit dizzy. This was the reason why Han Shuo's suppression was becoming quite exhausting.
At that moment, Han Shuo understood that he had neglected an important point. The personality of the old old fey zombie was very different from that of the evil knights. Although evil knights were similarly high-ranking undead creatures, there were numerous undead creatures in the underworld. Moreover, it was believed that evil knights still preferred to live in a group. When Han Shuo used the skeleton staff to summon evil knights, they would often come from the same place, locate two or three evil knights, and then summon them to the Profound Continent.
However, Old fey zombies were an even higher-ranked being, and their numbers in the netherworld were much smaller than those of evil knights. Moreover, as high-level existences, old fey zombies lived in separate places and became the masters of those places. Basically, it was highly unlikely for two Old Fey zombies to live together in the same area.
Han Shuo had overlooked this very point. When the spell channeled through the skeletal staff, it immediately sensed that two old fey zombies were five thousand kilometres away from each other. Since the two old fey zombies were too far away from each other, Han Shuo couldn't deal with both of them at the same time. old fey zombies were also undead creatures with formidable souls. When Han Shuo concentrated on one of them, the other one would suddenly revolt, and Han Shuo was somewhat unable to suppress it with his mental power.
This situation happened too fast. A necromancy summoning didn't take long. Since Han Shuo hadn't expected such a situation at the beginning, he simply didn't have the means to deal with it on short notice. When the two old fey zombies sensed that Han Shuo's mental strength was slightly disturbed, they continued to resist desperately.
There was a sudden sharp pain in his mind. Distracted, Han Shuo's consciousness was slightly rerouted and he felt himself actually becoming a strand of strange existence. Drawn by the souls of the two old fey zombies, he traversed the space-time tunnel and arrived at the unknown netherworld.
Han Shuo had experienced the same thing once. Now that it was happening a second time, Han Shuo reacted immediately, his mental power tenaciously wrapping around that strand of consciousness to prevent any harmful substances from entering the space-time tunnel as he involuntarily descended into the world of deathly silence and mystery.
Within the world, which seemed to be forever monochrome, a thick stationary layer of grey clouds obscured the horizon. This place was filled with swamps everywhere, as well as deathly silent forests made up of large withered trees. These withered trees seemed to have been rotting for thousands of years, long since deprived of any moisture or nutrients. There were even ash-grey spiderwebs hanging from the tree trunks, with many bizarre little undead creatures crawling on the web.
Inside the swamps, which were everywhere, the aura of death was everywhere. There were strange bubbles coming out of the swamps, and from time to time, a zombie or two would emerge from the swamps and wander aimlessly through the vast, silent underworld.
The netherworld was the final resting place of the departed spirits. Over the course of millions of years, the eternal death qi has continuously produced various types of undead creatures. When an undead creature disappeared, the death qi from its body would return to this world and go through many years of bizarre evolution before forming another undead creature.
Han Shuo's consciousness gradually returned. Han Shuo slowly observed the deathly quiet area covered with swamps. During his observation, Han Shuo attempted to absorb the death qi from the Cemetery of Death and condense a body that was visible but lacked form for himself. However, Han Shuo's entire body was floating in the air.
Suddenly, Han Shuo sensed the existence of the little skeleton and the zombies. They were in a far away region, but Han Shuo could clearly sense their existence. As for the three evil knights that were refined later, he could only sense a faint dot.
Howl... "Petty existence, you have entered my world without permission, I want you to feel the burn of my fury," a shrill voice filled with incomparable fury suddenly rang in Han Shuo's ears. This voice was filled with the roar of fury that terrified Han Shuo.
With a sudden reaction to his consciousness, Han Shuo felt a shadow rapidly approaching from his left. Han Shuo watched intently as one of the ancient fey zombies he had just tried to summon unexpectedly appeared. The surroundings of the old fey demon were filled with hundreds of low level undead creatures. Among them were ghouls, skeleton knights, zombies and three hate warriors.
It looks like this old fey zombies is the overlord of this area. It still remembered the aura on Han Shuo's body, and when it suddenly realised that Han Shuo's soul was appearing in its territory, the old fey zombies was in an unrelenting rage, immediately following Han Shuo's aura that it had just sensed, and angrily charging at Han Shuo.
In the underworld, the Old Fey Zombies could display his power as much as he wanted. The rich, omnipresent Death Qi could provide him with enough energy. However, for Han Shuo, whose consciousness had entered this world, he could not use his demonic arts without a physical body and could only use his consciousness and necromancy magic to attack.
When he saw the old fey zombies charging towards him with his sharp claws that could rip through iron and stone, Han Shuo's consciousness suddenly locked onto the old fey demon's body and unleashed a soul tremor.
Bang!
The old fey zombies soul in the air seemed to be hammered hard, and the sharp pain instantly spread to the deepest parts of his soul. Without waiting for the old fey zombies to react, many bone spears struck through the sky, causing the old fey zombies to stumble as he dodged. Another soul tremor immediately followed, stunning the old fey zombies for a moment.
However, in this other world, the old fey zombies had enough death qi to use, and his soul was extremely formidable. Although Han Shuo's Soul Tremor attack was able to inflict tremendous damage on the old fey zombies, it was unable to truly kill it. Furthermore, the bone spears were only able to leave shallow white scars on the old fey zombie's body, unable to pierce this high-level undead creature.
In such a place, If this situation continued, Han Shuo's mental strength would definitely be exhausted. At that moment, he would not be able to contain the old fey zombies. This high-ranking old fey zombies would definitely be able to destroy Han Shuo's soul that had descended to such a place.
After the series of bone spears and soul tremors, a bone prison suddenly formed, temporarily trapping the old fey zombie inside. When Han Shuo saw that the old fey zombie had no reaction to the Soul Tremor magic and did not remain in the area, his visible but immaterial body quickly floated off into the distance, resembling an ordinary wraith in the netherworld.
In the cloudy sky of the netherworld, there were often wraiths floating around. These wraiths had only the simplest consciousness and usually became food for higher-ranked undead creatures. They were also the nutrient that Han Shuo used to refine some of his demonic creatures. Han Shuo never thought that one day he would enter the netherworld and actually be besieged by wraiths.
Five white misty wraiths suddenly surrounded Han Shuo. These five ghosts sensed that Han Shuo had a different aura from them and tried to attack Han Shuo as if he were a mutated being.
When Han Shuo, who was visible but lacked a material body, saw the five wraiths approaching, he could sense their evil intentions revealed by their simple consciousness. Han Shuo gathered a small amount of mental power and unleashed the Soul Tremor magic. With a puff, the five wraiths were transformed into grey smoke, becoming Death Qi and returning to the earth.
The rows of wraiths further away felt Han Shuo's momentary burst of power, immediately classifying Han Shuo as a high-level undead creature and keeping their distance from Han Shuo. None of the wraiths dared to approach Han Shuo.
On a towering barren mountain peak, an unknown distance away from Han Shuo, was a magical undead palace. Inside a lofty palace with strict rankings, on the most respected platform, the little skeleton sat upright on a huge throne filled with sharp spikes (TL note: Game of Thrones reference?). At his side were the Earth Zombie, the Fire Zombie, the Wood Zombie and the seemingly timid Water Zombie.
Beneath the little skeleton were six evil knights, two bone demons and the previously subdued mummy lord. They were all kneeling with their heads bowed towards the little skeleton.
From the cold ceiling of the palace hung the Bone Demon, transformed into a flying skeleton, and numerous gargoyles, their bodies curled and silent.
Behind the few evil knights were a few stunned hate warriors and zombie warriors. They resembled conscientious bodyguards, standing proudly as if ready to risk their lives for the little skeleton at any moment.
"My lord, why must you leave?" The previously subdued mummy lord asked humbly with his head bowed.
"All of you, help me take good care of this place. I'll be back very soon." The little skeleton had not yet answered, only giving orders as a superior. "The powerful being from the eastern Dead Sea might come in the near future. All of you guard this place, don't attack others while I'm not around."
"Understood, my lord!" The high-ranking undead creatures all replied respectfully. Faced with the fiercer little skeleton, the former lords of an area couldn't help but lower their proud heads.
"You may return. Guard your respective territories properly!" The little skeleton made his intentions clear. Except for the three evil knights who had been refined by Han Shuo's demonic magic, the other evil knights and mummy lords all retreated after receiving the order.
"Father has come here. This world isn't the same as the material world. Without a physical body, Father might be in danger, I must go and protect him!" The little skeleton said to the earth zombie and the others after the subordinates had left.
"We'll go too!" The earth zombie touched his head and said, "We want to see Father in this world, too".
"That is out of the question. You must stay here and take care of our home. With their strength, those subordinates would have a hard time keeping this place safe. I only trust you. This is because we have inherited the same bloodline!" The little skeleton instructed before saying, "Be at ease. When I find Father, I'll bring him to you."
With that, the flying bone demon that was hanging upside down at the top of the hall suddenly spread its wings and soared in front of the little skeleton. The seven bone spurs on the little skeleton's back trembled and shot into the body of the already transformed bone demon. The bone demon's giant wings of interlocking rotting flesh flapped once, carrying the little skeleton away from the top of the towering mountain of death.
