Ferrodias and his companions had originally ignored Han Shuo's existence. In their eyes, such a young man was nothing to fear and therefore unworthy of any attention. However, it was only when Han Shuo spoke that Ferrodias finally deigned to take notice of him.
"Who are you?" Ferrodias knitted his brows and looked at Han Shuo with displeasure before saying, "Well, regardless of who you are, since you are here, let's just say you are out of luck!"
With a wave of his hand, Ferrodias signalled to a knight beside him, "Kill him!"
From behind Ferrodias' back, a knight suddenly lunged out and charged directly at Han Shuo, who was still standing by the hot spring.
Helen and the phoenix were trapped in a magical spell and were under fire from a dozen or more archers. In addition, the three former members of Helen Tina's personal guard also aimed their weapons at the two people inside the barrier. As a super-ranked magical creature, the phoenix would be able to cause trouble even without using magical attacks.
But Helen's fragile body could barely withstand so many attacks. Under the circumstances, the phoenix didn't really dare to exert itself. This momentary hesitation proved to be a fatal mistake, as a magic arrow pierced the phoenix's body. The phoenix fell with a gasp, weak and without a trace of power. As the phoenix felt its powers slowly diminishing, it looked at the calm face of Han Shuo before tugging at the hem of Helen Tina's dress, "This is bad, the arrow tips are poisoned!"
Helen Tina was originally filled with despair. But when she heard the sound of Han Shuo's voice, hope rekindled in her chest. As her thoughts took a rapid turn, she cutely shouted at Han Shuo, "Bryan, help me kill them!"
Han Shuo was only momentarily stunned by the unfamiliar sound of Helen Tina's sweet, flirtatious voice, usually reserved for loved ones. He cast a quick glance at Helen Tina before a smile tugged at his lips. He teased back, "Dearest, rest assured, you still owe me so many gold coins, how would I willingly let you be captured by others?"
Helen Tina couldn't help but blush at being spoken to in this way, while secretly sighing in her heart. She had never thought that she would actually have to surrender to this demon in order to survive. But in reality, when Han Shuo teased her with the words "Dearest", it left a faint ripple in her heart. Although Helen Tina knew that Han Shuo was only teasing her, without knowing why, her heart still had a somewhat unusual feeling. Moreover, her blushing cheeks obviously weren't just an act, making her feel extremely awkward and unsure of how to respond.
As for the senior knight who rode up on a warhorse, Han Shuo did not even glance at him from start to finish. It was only when he arrived directly in front of him that Han Shuo casually released a long, serpentine purple flame that spread violently through the high ranking knight and his warhorse.
Anyone could see was the senior knight and his warhorse charging at Han Shuo before suddenly being engulfed in purple flames. As the knight and warhorse braved the freezing cold, they gradually slowed to a stop before freezing at a speed that was clearly visible to the naked eye.
Han Shuo controlled the flame so that the elder knight and warhorse were within reach before freezing them both into a glittering ice sculpture. Han Shuo then nonchalantly used one hand to topple the man and horse ice sculpture, causing their frozen flesh to fall and shatter with a loud bang.
Seeing his high ranking subordinate Senior Knight die tragically in such a strange manner, Ferrodias took another look at Han Shuo. His gaze had now changed to a dignified and solemn look as he continued in an imposing manner, "Who on earth are you? The things that are happening in the Helon Duchy have nothing to do with you, so as long as you leave, I will not investigate further."
Ferrodias had become worried after Han Shuo had demonstrated his skills. From start to finish, Han Shuo seemed to be using very little of his power. Although he appeared to be taking a leisurely stroll around his own courtyard, he had still killed one of Ferrodias' senior knights in such a tragic manner. As a result, Ferrodias immediately felt that Han Shuo was somewhat mysterious.
"Did you not have your eyes and ears open? Did you not hear the words I just said? Your Grand Duchess Helen is my woman, so guess what, am I going to leave just like that?" Han Shuo lectured Ferrodias with displeasure, staring at Helen Tina as he spoke. He obviously didn't think much of Ferrodias.
"Huh, since you're looking for death, you can't blame us!" Ferrodias understood that Han Shuo was determined to intervene. With a cold snort, he gave an order to the people behind him. The mages slowly dispersed in preparation for a joint attack.
Being stared at by Han Shuo, Helen Tina felt humiliated in her heart. She knew that he was only joking with her when he said that she was his woman. However, Helen Tina couldn't help but feel an indescribably strange feeling in her heart.
Suddenly a thought occurred to her. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad to become his woman. But she immediately pushed the thought away. Impossible! He was the reason why she had become a laughing stock, so she should try to kill him at any cost. How could she have such an absurd thought!
Han Shuo gently walked over to Helen Tina and looked into her eyes as he said in an increasingly tender voice, "How could I let you stay trapped? Besides, you owe me a lot more than just fifty thousand gold coins. Don't you, Helen?
You! Don't come any closer. If you dare come closer, we will kill her!" The middle-aged female imperial guard suddenly pointed a dagger at Helen Tina and screamed in panic when she saw Han Shuo approaching.
Glancing at the middle-aged woman, Han Shuo sighed in sorrow before saying, "She is worth fifty thousand gold coins, do you dare to kill her? Besides, you never had a chance to kill her!"
The moment the words fell, the earth suddenly shook as several sharp spikes suddenly emerged from the ground, stabbing into the middle-aged woman, the rest of the guards, and the nearby traitors. They were all left hanging from the protruding spikes.
Ferrodias' face changed dramatically, as did the look in his eyes as he looked at Han Shuo. He scanned the ground beneath his feet with lingering fear. He feared that a spike would suddenly burst from the ground and impale him to death. It was clear that Han Shuo had not cast any magic spells before the spike suddenly killed several of his subordinates. Ferrodias grew more and more amazed at the young man's prowess.
Helen Tina and the phoenix were, of course, safe and sound within the vast magical net. They watched Han Shuo leisurely approach and then heard him say with a smile, "How about that? Even though I helped you deal with these people, I won't add any extra payments. Instead, you only need to return the gold coins you already owe me. That is pretty generous of me, right?
Helen Tina looked at Han Shuo's tender face in a daze as she listened to his soft and gentle voice. She suddenly had a strange delusion. This version of Han Shuo was just like Benedict Sackville when he relentlessly pursued her in a humble and worldly manner. This kind of tender, humble behaviour made her feel like a goddess and put her in a trance.
"Helen, what's wrong?" The phoenix beside her tugged at Helen Tina, who was looking at Han Shuo in a daze, and asked her anxiously.
Helen Tina suddenly stirred and noticed several of Ferrodias' mages approaching them with incantations. As they approached, Helen couldn't help but snort, "If you don't kill them, they'll kill you anyway. I'm not interested in such deals."
Han Shuo was stunned the moment those words came out. Soon after, he opened his hands to the approaching Ferrodias and said, "Alright, this is none of my business, you can continue. I'll just say goodbye first. To be honest, I'm not too familiar with Grand Duke Helen, I was just joking with you, that's all"
Ferrodias was about to start killing when he was suddenly stopped by Han Shuo's words. He hastily stopped his mages from finishing their incantations and said to Han Shuo, "Fine, I don't want to be your enemy either. As long as you don't interfere in this matter, I'll pretend this never happened."
"Sure. You guys go ahead. Bye now!" Han Shuo laughed easily. It seemed like he really wanted to leave.
"You"Demon, I promise you. I already promised you, you thrice-damned demon, don't leave!" Helen Tina let out a panicked scream as she hurriedly shouted at him.
"Why didn't you say so before? Don't waste my time!" Han Shuo paused, then raised his hand again and said to Ferrodias, "My mistake. You're screwed now!"
"Motherf*cker. You tricked me. Get rid of him!" Ferrodias had originally decided not to provoke Han Shuo after seeing a demonstration of his powers. But who knew that Han Shuo would take back his words and use him as the butt of a joke? Suddenly, Ferrodias felt an uncontrollable rage rise up within him as he shouted his orders.
Some of the mages had long harboured a dislike for Han Shuo, and they immediately resumed their incantations as soon as they heard Ferrodias' urgent command.
"So what if I tricked you? You are nothing but trash. You are only fit to be played with!" Han Shuo said with a smile on his face as he calmly took out the skeletal staff and cast a long spell.
Rows of undead creatures suddenly appeared around Ferrodias as Han Shuo chanted. Over a hundred of them appeared in an instant, while a squadron of gargoyles swooped down on the still chanting mages. Terrified, they could only stop chanting and run for cover.
"You! You! Who on earth are you?!" As several hundred undead surrounded Ferrodias, including three powerful evil knights, Ferrodias could no longer contain the fear in his heart and cried out in alarm.
Shrugging his shoulders, Han Shou said, "You're about to die, why bother with so many questions?"
"Bryan. Bryan. You're Bryan, the newly appointed city lord of Brettel City," one of the mages suddenly shouted in alarm. He had obviously heard the way Helen Tina had addressed Han Shuo and had connected the dots and shouted in alarm.
"Yes, maybe you can die satisfied now!" Han Shuo replied with a grin. He waved his hand with the bone staff and an enormous undead creature blinked into existence, drowning the people below.
The most powerful of these people was still the Earth Knight Ferrodias. Han Shuo completely ignored the little mages. Their end was easy to imagine after the huge undead creature had crashed into them.
Indeed. Even when the mages only had to deal with the gargoyles, they were still in a bad situation. Now, against hundreds of undead, the destructive power of their small spells was basically useless. On the other hand, although Ferrodias' power was sufficient, only one Evil Knight could prevent him from winning. Now, with three evil knights surrounding him, he was guaranteed a tragic death.
A pitiful and mournful howl echoed from Ferrodias and his people. As the legion of the undead attacked, the group of people who had been strutting around so arrogantly were torn to shreds. The horrible screams were enough to make your hair stand on end.
But when Helen Tina's traitors screamed in a way that made her shiver up and down her spine, she actually had a kind of delightful, carefree feeling. This was because she felt that she had always treated them fairly and had never imagined that these people would actually betray her one day. Luckily, Han Shuo was nearby, otherwise Helen Tina would probably have been captured and become Benedict Sackville's slave.
Helen Tina might have reluctantly accepted things if it had been a rebellion by ordinary people, but when those she'd treated with sincerity betrayed her, it became truly hard to extinguish such intense hatred for them. After hearing the petrified screams, Helen Tina gritted her teeth and shouted, "It serves you right. As traitors, this is what you deserve!"
"Pfft. I say, Miss Helen, you're already screwed, shouldn't you return the gold coins you already owe me?" Han Shuo laughingly walked in front of Helen Tina and gallantly helped Helen Tina remove the magical imprisonment net before asking her to repay the debt. He also smoothly stored the net in his space ring.
"You, are you done yet?" Helen Tina looked at Han Shuo's smiling face and suddenly felt a belly full of anger. In the end, she couldn't help but yell at Han Shuo.
Han Shuo said in astonishment, "What? Are you actually going to cancel the debt? Hehehe. You should know that even though they're all dead, I can still get rid of you very easily. Even worse, I can take you directly to Benedict Sackville and exchange you for fifty thousand gold coins."
"How dare you!" Helen Tina stared hatefully at Han Shuo with wide eyes. After a moment of silence, she took a deep breath as if to fortify herself and said, "Bryan, I have a proposal."
"What kind of proposal; let me hear it," Han Shuo asked.
"A marriage between us. The dowry is the Duchy of Helon, what do you think?" Although Helen Tina was blushing and ashamed, her eyes were determined as she looked deeply at Han Shuo.
